Towards the end of the drink service/wedding, the bartenders made a comment to another vendor employee, "we need to hurry and get out of here because we over served these guests" and packed up and left. I talked to Michael many times throughout this process and he continually made promises he couldn't keep and proved to be very unreliable. The bartenders at the wedding were also very inexperienced and rude. I really regret hiring Michael and garnish with a smile, it was the main source of frustration leading up to our big day. BARTENDERS AND CLIENTS BEWARE! It took me two days to get ahold of him and when I did (from a different number since he was ignoring mine) he brought up for the first time to expect payment in seven days. Well today is the seventh day and *surprise surprise* no response or payment in my Venmo. If anyone is considering booking him please know that he did not pay me and it looks like he never will. Monday I am going to file a claim in small claims court to try to recover my money. It's sad that Neil would scam someone like this but when I look at his previous reviews and the lawsuit filed against the company I am not entirely shocked. Karma is real, and Neil, you deserve nothing but shame for how you conduct yourself. He also won't answer me about a mobile bar and a bunch of supplies that are stuck in my garage that I am trying to return to him. I guess he made enough money off my back to buy new ones so he never has to confront me. The guy even saved up all the days champagne corks for me (I'd mentioned I needed them for a project) and brought them to me before closing up shop. I loved the handiness of the truck, with it's bar that opens folds down from one side and the beer taps on the wall coming from kegs inside. They also had a decent selection of wine and bubbles. The concept of renting a booze truck for events is genius & no doubt I will see more of them around town in the future. At least, I hope I do.

After calling the owner, Ken…read moreBlack, 8 different times and sending two emails with hopes of rectifying the situation, without a single response, people need to know they should not waste their money with this sleazy company. Read this entire review before booking! Don't make our mistake. Do not hire Ken Black with Portland Bartending Express, or prepare to be entirely ripped off. I first hired Ken in April of 2021 after contacting him in hopes of finding a bartender for my July wedding. He responded with two different packages available. I ultimately chose the "all-inclusive" package that included everything; all the alcohol, ice, cups, napkins, mixers, sodas, water, etc. When talking to Ken, I told him it was very important to me that the signature cocktails would also be made into mocktails, as many of our guests do not drink alcohol. He assured me they would do that. He told me he would purchase 4 types of wine, 3 signature cocktails and mocktails, 2 kinds of beer (one IPA and Bud Light), champagne and sparkling cider for the toast, and would have other types of liquor for those who do not like the signature drinks. I signed a contract that stated he would have licensed bartenders from 4 PM until 10 PM (with an hour set up before and an hour clean up after) and would provide everything else we needed for the bar on the day of the wedding. On my wedding day, he didn't show up, but sent three girls to bartend instead. They arrived with NO ice, only 2 kinds of wine, no extra liquors, only Bud Light, and NO champagne. They were unable to make any mocktails. My dad had to leave the wedding to get ice, even though we paid Ken to provide that. By 7:30, ALL of the wine, beer, and liquor was gone, so when the DJ invited everyone to go to the bar to get a drink for the toast, not only was there no champagne, since Ken hadn't purchased any and nobody even told us, there was NOTHING to toast with. Everyone had to toast us with their water glass from dinner. SO embarrassing!!!!
