What I appreciate is that he was attentive as I was explaining what I wanted, even though it's the busy season. I did a walk-in and recently moved here from CA for school so was trying to find a good barbershop. I've been a customer for at least the last five years and have NEVER been disappointed. Darren has been cutting my hair for me the entire time and has been great! I can count on a great cut and some truly enjoyable conversation, all at a price that works. Highest marks for this shop! I have both an uncle and a cousin with their own shops, and NO reflection on them in ANY way, but I'll continue to go to WBS and Darren for the foreseeable future. I hate to leave a bad review, but this place deserves it. I scheduled an appointment for my son to get a styled cut, with Juan. We got there 5 minutes early and Juan had just taken another person. He told me to either wait 30+ minutes with my toddler or go to another one of his employee shortly. He also advised that I could bring my toddler back the following day, but we have lives and careers... It must be nice and chilled to cut hair for a living... I though, in America, the concept of an appointment (with 15 reminders from text messages to email) was clear. Anger issues here. Came at 11:30 for a 11:30 appointment, didn't speak a word and saw the guy whom I booked work on someone else. He finished at 11:55 and calls for someone else. I said I had an appointment at 11:30, he said I was late. Then he tells me I came here at 11:31, lol really!! Couldn't even look me in the eye and talk, saw anger issues and highly customer unfriendly way to talk. Then he said he doesn't want my business. Lol!! Who is giving you business anyway and this review will at least take few of yours for sure. Good luck continuing with this attitude and next time lower your voice when you talk to a customer just because I didn't raise my voice doesn't mean I cannot. read more

I've been getting my haircut here for about 4 years now and I continue to go back not just because of the quality of the haircuts, but also the excellent experience that Juan, the owner, and his staff provide. They are not just concerned about cutting hair but also providing a comfortable environment and cutting experience. I've been to barbers before that either always talk on the phone and don't pay attention, or are rough with their tools on your head. Here at Woburn Barbershop they pay attention to how they cut and the quality of the cut. I love the one appointment system they have, it makes it easy for me to plan ahead and book my barber knowing that that time slot is reserved for me. I recently moved away from my "regular" barber and had been on the lookout for a new one to meet my needs. I found it in the Woburn Barbershop. My needs are really simple in fact- head shaved bald, beard trim. It's in the execution and enviroment that really do it for me in a shop. This place did both well. I just happened to drive buy while in Woburn, where I work, noticed it and checked it out on Yelp to see if it was legit. It was- I had my cut done by Juan, one of the owners, who knew exactly what I wanted for my beard trim (a very sensitive subject for me) and did a great job trimming it while not losing any length. On top of that my head was finished off with a hot lather shave. Lastly the shop itself was clean, bright, and welcoming. Sports memorabilia on the walls, tv, a comfy chair, all classics. The place was fairly priced (though a touch pricier than my last place but not to a fault)and their full menu of barber options noted that they are prepared for all types and I believe they are. This barber shop is amazing. I have been bringing my son here since he was 18 months old...he is now two. We have had his hair cut by many of the barbers here...Johnny, Angel, and Sonia to name a few. All are phenomenal, not just with children, but people as a whole. There is a great feel to this place...the staff is so friendly without being over the top, and the customers are obviously repeat ones because they are also so friendly, super clean shop, great music playing. I love leaving here with my little guy looking so cute with his new haircuts. If there were 10 stars, I would have given 10! Love to see this place busy and doing well...they deserve it. I've now gotten my haircut by Darren here twice, and he's done an amazing job both times. My hair kinda sucks, and I have a bit of a fixation on it if it's bad, and I was planning a pretty big change the first time I went so I was a little nervous, but I gave Darren the vaguest description of what I wanted (low maintenance, doesn't need product, but can be dressed up with a little product if I want) and he gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. I decided to give this place a shot as my usual barber had moved locations - I got Johnny. Johnny did a great job - he takes his time and makes sure you're happy before you leave. He did such a great job that I request him every time I go. I've referred a few other people who all go and take whichever barber is available - I'm confident in saying everyone there is highly qualified and gives the same great cut. My wife tried to book an appointment online and she couldn't because the appointment system was closed for the day. She called and was told that they have some availability and they would be able to cut my son't hair. There might be some wait. I went there with my son, one guy asked if I had an appointment and I said, no but my wife called. He remembered, told me that I might have to wait 35mn. We went to get an ice cream at Nanabetes, next door (very good and very nice people), came back 20mn later. The guy finishes one customer, takes his sweet time sweeping and doing other things than disappeared... for 30mn! His next customer arrived and in 1/10th of a second he is taking care of him.... So this guy was waiting for 30 to 45 mn in the backroom, doing nothing while some customer were waiting. That's rude and lazy. I can understand they don't want walk ins... in that case don't tell people to just walk in. Obviously I left. No idea about the quality of their work. This guy was rude from the moment I stepped in. I have been taking my sons to Woburn Barbershop for years and we were always happy with the outcome. My oldest son loved getting a little design at the side too. But I feel that the quality of the haircuts have gone downhill since the store reopened after the pandemic closure. We noticed a lot of staff turnover and the haircuts were just not good. The first time I took the kids there after the pandemic closures for a haircut they came out with such bad haircuts that people were asking me if I had given them a haircut myself. We went again this week and results were not that different. One of my boys had just an OK cut, but my youngest had a horrible cut again prompting funny comments by others. Even his grandparents made a remark on how bad his haircut was and they only see him through zoom. If I were to go there again, I would definitely book with one of the older staff that know what they are doing. read more

I had no idea what to expect when I made my appointment over Yelp. I'd seen some good reviews and my girlfriend had to be in the area for a test so I took the opportunity to get a cut. Man I am impressed. Not only was the cut perfect but the conversation was fun, not like so many barber shops where the small talk can drag on and on. Like many other busy families, realized late on a Saturday afternoon that haircuts were needed ASAP... and between work, school, sports and more, there's just no time in the next two weeks, let alone before Tuesday when someone needed to be neat & tidy for an important work event. We were in the Woburn area and I took a chance, looking for a barbershop that might still be open. Lucky for us, Woburn Barbershop was nearby, still open (until 6pm on a Saturday, and open on Mondays!), and taking walk-ins. Now for the best part - we only had a little wait despite all five chairs being full when we walked into this small, clean shop, which gave us a chance to see the wide variety of options they provide, including shaves and more. The two who needed haircuts were seated quickly and the clipping began. In no time at all, they were cleaned up, the reasonable prices were paid, and we were on our way again.
