History

Established in 1998.

Seit dem 01.10.1998, also schon über 15 Jahre, gibt es das WOKI. In den Räumen des ehemaligen "Universum-Kinos" konnten wir bisher über 2,6 Millionen Besucher begrüßen. WOKI-Gründer und geschäftsführender Gesellschafter Rainer Otto (49), 1965 in Bonn geboren und bereits seit 1981 in Bonner Kinos tätig, verstand es von Anfang an, extrem Kino-begeisterte Mitarbeiter um sich zu scharen. Diese Leidenschaft fürs Kino und Spaß am Kinomachen kam auch den zahlreichen Besuchern zugute: Hier wurden sie sehr freundlich und fachkundig beraten. Die Bonner strömten in Scharen: Schnell wurde das WOKI zu einer Institution in Bonn. Bis heute ist es das erfolgreichste Bonner Kino und auch bundesweit ganz weit vorne. Das Konzept des WOKI heute: Große Filme in Deutscher Erstaufführung zu moderaten Preisen, ältere Filme zu günstigen Preisen zu zeigen. I'm not overly fond of Kinopolis, but it is one of the few places in Bonn that shows films in…read moreoriginal voice although sometimes with German subtitles. It's not that I don't enjoy watching German movies I just want Sean Connery to sound like Sean Connery. The minus two stars are for reserved seating and screens that are surprisingly too large for the size of the auditorium. After years and years of going here it's about time to write my review. This is basically our…read moredefault cinema, and for good reason. Kinopolis is, in my opinion, the most modern and well equipped cinema in the Bonn area. Screens are large, sound is good, the usual gimmicks such as 3D and HFR all work well. Seats are comfy and spacious. It's truly big, multiplex-style, and very lively. The main reason I go here so often is the frequent offering of movies in original English language, which is usually three or four at a time. Their website offers easy reserving/purchasing for tickets and there are good restaurants nearby, plus parking with the "Kino-Tarif" is only 1€. In the future, it would be nice to have more award season movies in English that are shown in the Brotfabrik/Rex (our indie cinema alternatives) instead of the Russian OV movies that are slowly filling the screens. Also, a retrofitting of a large screen to use 4K projection would be a welcome sight as more and more movies are being shot in IMAX and the format is virtually absent in all of Germany spare Berlin. All in all, an absolute favorite for more than 15 years now, and the better alternative to the lacking Cineplex theaters in Bonn and Siegburg.

The exhibition varies and thus inform yourself before hand it it suits your interests from my point of view it is definitely worth visiting.

Meistens günstiger als die großen Kino-Komplexe, insbesondere in Kombination mit weiteren Rabatten. Das Kino liegt zentral am Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz, ist deshalb sowohl mit Bus als auch mit Bahn gut zu erreichen. Der Sound ist nicht der Neuste vom Neusten und 3D gibt es in dem Kino nicht. Ansonsten super Kino, bequeme Sitze, Toiletten im Saal und das Personal ist immer nett. Und natürlich gibt es auch Popcorn und Süßwaren, Snacks. read more

Das Woki überzeugt nicht nur mit seinem super freundlichen Personal. Auch die meisten Blockbuster werden ausgestrahlt, was für so ein kleines Kino echt super ist. Kino = Woki. Bestes Poppcorn was ich in Kinos bekommen kann. Personal super locker und freundlich. Auch der Rest wirkt gut, auch wenn es mit einem Cinemaxx oder ähnlich bzw. Ambiente / Design nicht mithalten könnte. Aber wenn ich ehrlich bin, grade deswegen gehe ich ins Woki! read more

Das Woki ist unser Lieblingskino. Das große Plus ist die freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter. Der große Saal ist auch schön zum schauen der kleiner öfters überfüllt. Leider habe ich nie Antworten auf e-Mails erhalten. read more

Das WOKI ist einfach eine Institution. Ein Szene-Kino mit aktuellen Filmen und familiären Charakter. Dazu noch das günstigste Kino und das beste Popkorn. read more
