Ours was very outdated, but it was one of the cleanest motels we've stayed in. Did not have a microwave or hair dryer, but did have a mini fridge and stove, which for $69 was amazing. The room did have a musty smell when we first walked in, unfortunately it lingered for most of the night even after turning on the AC, and the water pressure in the shower was not good. If you're just looking for a clean place to sleep, this is definitely a great deal. We were there just to fish, so it was great for what we needed.

We went to one in Barber Creek, MI like 4 years ago and we really loved it then--but they've upped their game since then. There are complimentary snacks, s'mores kits, and water now. (Before, I think the s'mores kit was like $6.) I love that it's dog friendly (they had bowls) and our doggo enjoyed being outdoors for a little before demanding to go back in to the air conditioning. (She's a city dog.) To be fairs it was like in the mid-90s the weekend we were there... The one down side to this particular property is that there really isn't a cute town nearby to explore. At least not one where you can get brunch, coffee, and drinks. We had to drive at least two hours to get to a decent dinner :/.

This was appealing because it's all about spending time in nature but without the sacrifice! I believe this location opened about a year ago. These "Getaways" are popping up within 2 hours of major cities. This one is called "Ozark Highlands" and/or the Kansas City Getaway. It is a big property and I was impressed with how much space is between each cabin. Even with 49 cabins on site you're likely to only be able to spot one maybe two through the woods from your own cabin. They ask that guests consider all day and all night quiet time so your neighbors aren't out blasting music and ruining your peaceful stay. Inside we found a table with seating for two, a very comfortable queen size bed (the view from the window is really all it's cracked up to be on their website!!) A galley kitchen area (sink, two burner stovetop and mini fridge) and a separate bathroom with just toilet and stall shower. Very small. Makes some cruise ship rooms feel huge! But also really well designed with a spot for our luggage and room to store our empty cooler and bags out of sight. Outside we had a picnic table, a set of Adirondack chairs and a firepit with a cooking grate. We did all of our cooking inside, if you plan to cook on the outdoor grill bring a brush! I think it's more suited to placing a Dutch oven on than steaks, but to each their own. We didn't take any interior photos before we brought our stuff in and afterwards it felt too cluttered to take cute pictures. Work your Instagram magic BEFORE you unload your vehicle. Hot Tips : 1) There are two cow crossings that are deep enough to make your car bottom out and scrape the underside. Don't go with a low rider! 2) The mini fridge doesn't have a freezer section, plan accordingly.

With the couch counting as 2 sleeping spots. My family of 6 made it work. River was amazing clear and very cold in mid July. Over priced shop items so I would bring my own food and drinks. Community pool and hot tub is so crowded with kids I never got in. Driving distance to the river in the campground property. Compared to other resorts I have stayed in, I won't be back.

To ensure we have a campsite site and kayak during Labor Day weekend, we made reservation online. Each person is charged $10 a night. And Kayaking is $20 per person. There is also a small processing fees. So 2 nights of camping & 1 kayak came roughly to $92. I am not sure if the price is varies on the time of the season. Check in was super easy. When you pull into the camping site, there is a friendly elder gentleman who will guide you to office to check in. At check in, you will pick up your car pass and pool wristband. Yes! They have a clean pool and open bar!!! Less than 5 minutes of check in, then you are off to picking your campsite. Campsite is very clean and spacious. My favorite part is that they have clean restroom and shower room! I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to shower after all day in the sun and in river water. One of the cleanest shared shower I've ever been to. And they have flushing toilets!!!! They also have portable Johnny's throughout the campsite so you don't do your business in the trees or bushes. I am looking forward to our next trip.

They have more items and the price is better than the RFC&C store. We paid $12.99 for my water shoes instead of $15.99 at RFC&C if RFC&C were to have it. I notice sunscreen was also cheaper here, maybe half of the price. I would definitely make the drive here to save money and better selections. Customer service was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

My most recent was one of those giant group trips this past weekend. I've also floated at NRO and some crappy site around Steelville (Green's maybe?). There's definitely a reason we keep going back to OEW's and will continue to do so. First of all, Brian, the owner, is a super nice guy. We hadn't made it down there in about 3 years, and he still remembered me "Last time I saw you, you just got engaged!". Though not great at answering e-mails (just don't bother), the staff is quick to return phone calls if you leave a voicemail. The campsite itself has a nice layout, and they keep improving. Port-o-potties are serviced often, and they have a small shower, bathroom, and store close to the campsite (previously they were only available way up the hill, so thumbs up on the improvement!). The showers and bathrooms were clean and well lit, unlike some other places I've been. By the time we booked, the aluminum canoes were all gone, which is usually how we go, because they're cheaper. Now, no longer being the broke college student, I will ALWAYS pay the measly $5 extra for the fiberglass canoes. Molded seats...worth every penny. Remember that. In general, the Niangua is a great river to float on. Decent current, good sand bars, and nice cold water! And if you're going to float the Niangua, go to One Eyed Willy's!

We have taken our family here for the last 6 years or so and our family has the best time here…read more They have live bands, BBQS, they have a playground, pool, game room, restaurant, dog park, and the nicest staff and rv tenants. The cabins are clean and they keep up with maintenance needs. They are close to the river but not close enough to worry if the levels get high. And my kids' favorite part of our stay is a local secret spot- Moon Valley Swimming Hole 10-15 min up the road. Great for exploring, swimming, crawdad hunting & fishing.
