We stayed in the Bluffview cabin. It was nice to have somewhere to go in from the hot sun. It's a bit pricey with the accommodations. The July heat left the cabin undesirably hot and the small unit could not keep up deep into the night with ac . This made sleeping in the back room aggravating. It says sleeps 6. With the couch counting as 2 sleeping spots. My family of 6 made it work. River was amazing clear and very cold in mid July. Over priced shop items so I would bring my own food and drinks. Community pool and hot tub is so crowded with kids I never got in. Driving distance to the river in the campground property. Compared to other resorts I have stayed in, I won't be back. read more

My first time camping, and I could not have asked for a better camping/kayaking experience! Thank you RFC&C for a wonderful time! To ensure we have a campsite site and kayak during Labor Day weekend, we made reservation online. Each person is charged $10 a night. And Kayaking is $20 per person. There is also a small processing fees. So 2 nights of camping & 1 kayak came roughly to $92. I am not sure if the price is varies on the time of the season. Check in was super easy. When you pull into the camping site, there is a friendly elder gentleman who will guide you to office to check in. At check in, you will pick up your car pass and pool wristband. Yes! They have a clean pool and open bar!!! Less than 5 minutes of check in, then you are off to picking your campsite. Campsite is very clean and spacious. My favorite part is that they have clean restroom and shower room! I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to shower after all day in the sun and in river water. One of the cleanest shared shower I've ever been to. And they have flushing toilets!!!! They also have portable Johnny's throughout the campsite so you don't do your business in the trees or bushes. This would have been our 6th year here for our annual girls float trip. Two of the past three years our reservations have been screwed up royally. In 2024, we reserved early, which we do every year and is a benefit to being returning customers. Never had an issue doing this in the past. Nobody ever bothered to call and tell us the card was declined and we needed to call them back to ensure our reservations. A week before our scheduled trip I called them to verify because we usually get an email welcoming us to our upcoming stay. That email never came. When I called to verify everything, they had no reservation on file at all. Here we are, a week before we have people coming from as far as Texas for a 3-day float, with no reservation. We were told they emailed us to let us know that the card was declined. No email was ever sent, and even if it was, why wouldn't you call your customer? As luck would have it, nobody had reserved our usual cabin, and we were able to still make our trip on the planned weekend. This year, we again did the early reservation. I can't even remember why I called them a couple of months later; I had a question about something and was told that the dates I was inquiring about were not the dates of the reservation. Excuse me? We have 11 people coming, some of which have already made flight plans. This time, our usual cabin was already booked. Now we have to change cabins. Every year we have been coming here, we arrive on a Sunday and leave on a Wednesday. Three nights, every year for 6 years. So when we had to change cabins nothing was said about the new cabin only being available for 2 nights. We were supposed to be there a week from today and again, I had not received the welcome email. Concerned because we had issues with this original booking, I again called to confirm. She confirmed arriving on July 5th and departing on July 7th. I was floored. No, arriving on the 5th, departing on the 8th. They had booked the Tuesday night, and this cabin was not available for our 3rd night. Now I'm absolutely livid by this point. For the second time this year I go into panic mode. What am I supposed to tell the rest of the group? My wife walked into the room and heard the tail end of the conversation, and I looked at her and asked, what do we want to do, cancel and find another location? The manager, whom I was on the phone with literally yelled at me and said, "Yes, we need to cancel this reservation. That is fine with me." I said hold up a minute; I did not tell you I wanted to cancel. Immediately started yelling again that I had just told her that. I said no, I was asking my wife what we should do. I stated I needed to check with the rest of the group who had already paid their portions of this trip. I told her I would call her back. I was certain with such short notice we would not find another place to book a reservation, but at the same time, I knew if we continued with our two-night stay with Riverfront, that we would be treated unkindly seeing how I was being yelled at by the manager. Fortunately for us, Riverwood, located nearby had an opening. The only thing they had available was going to be $450 per night. A 4-bedroom, 2 bath, beautiful cabin. Unfortunately, this was three times what we had paid at Riverfront. The owner made us an incredible deal giving us almost $900 off the price for us to stay there. I was so relieved to know that I would not have to disappoint our group by cancelling the entire trip. Then I go to call Riverfront back to cancel the reservation (the manager is the one who wanted to immediately cancel us not even 30 minutes prior, to find they were only willing to refund us half of our money. You just offered to cancel us 30min prior and are now only willing to refund half? What a crock of #$*#. Needless to say, they have lost our business for good, and we will now only be staying at Riverwood. The interesting thing was when I am speaking with the owners of Riverwood and told them the story, they stated this wasn't the first time they took an emergency reservation because Riverfront had screwed up. This was a long review, but beware, as a previous review mentioned, they will offer to refund and then only give you 50% back. Theft in my opinion. read more

I have camped at RF several times in the past, usually over a weekend. This time my group arrived there on a Monday and left out on Wednesday. The amount of people was much better during the week than of a weekend. Butt my gripe was the porta-potties, in the past they have kept them fairly clean and decent. This time they were HORRIBLE! The in one was almost up to the toilet seat. As of Wednesday noon they still had not cleaned them. Maybe with the addition of the new pool they can't afford to have the crappers kept clean. read more

My family and I have been coming and floating here every year for years. It's a great float and is better for camping with children than the NRO. I reserved our rafts online this year instead of calling like I usually do. When ordering online you are required to pay the full payment and are charged a processing fee as well. When you call to reserve your raft there is not processing fee and the deposit is less than half the price of whatever you are reserving. There are different deposit amounts depending on what you are reserving. We came down to camp the night before the float and also had a few friends come down the next morning just for the float. They had a 2-hour drive to get here. We had some pretty heavy rain the first night we had gotten there, so we called the office to see if we would be floating the following day. We were informed that we would still be floating. This is why I gave them 1 star. The next morning, we went to the office to get ready to go on our float. The lady at the desk said due to high water it is not safe to float. I understand that! It's not the first time I have been rained out for a float. She said we sent everyone an e-mail and a text to let them know. I took out my phone and had no such messages and showed her my phone. She said since you drove all the way up here, we will give you a full refund. I gave her my name because I made the reservations for the entire group. She then tells me since i was already at the campsite the night before that not only do, they not inform the campers the float is canceled, but I would only be getting half of my refund back as well. The processing fee is not included in the half refund and my friends drove two hours for nothing. I didn't just pay the deposit. I paid the full amount! For this reason I will NEVER do business with River Front again. read more

I'm not sure where these other negative reviews came from... Our experience with Riverfront was definitely positive! We've been going on float trips for a couple years now, normally tent camping with a group of 8-12 people. This year we decided to look for a cabin and give that a shot. Most places I looked for a cabin that would suit us were in the $150-$350 range! Luckily I stumbled on Riverfront!! We rented the Rocky River cabin for 6 people (with 2 more camping in a tent) for $90/night, which was way cheaper than anywhere else I looked and incredibly convenient. I did have to call to make my reservations and to put my deposit down, but every time I called with questions the people on the phone were incredibly polite. The office has a lot of supplies in case you forget anything, and the prices aren't *horrible* but are on the expensive side. I had forgotten cooking spray and they had one Walmart brand can for $3.75. Ouch. My bad. But I was also willing to pay without fuss because they actually had it when I needed it! The cabin was small, but suited our needs perfectly. There's a full kitchen, albiet the oven and fridge were on the smaller side. I wasn't expecting all of the kitchen supplies they had available, but the place was basically fully kitted out! Pots, pans, cutting boards, coffee maker, silverware, etc etc. We had brought everything expecting supplies to be limited, but most everything was there. Just bring food and drinks and you're set. Beds were pretty comfortable. In our cabin we had some queen sized bunk beds and then a futon. Apparently the futon was less comfy than the regular beds, but that's to be expected. The campground provided linens, and they were nice; much better than sleeping in a sleeping bag! A/C worked fairly well, although the people near it said they were freezing and those of us on the other side of the cabin were a little on the warm side. So, just make sure if you're sleeping under the AC you grab an extra blanket. It ended up raining both nights (so glad we got the cabin!!) so we couldn't enjoy the fire pit, but this cabin has a great location for it. It's near the office but tucked away just enough to be convienient but quiet. Hopefully you don't experience the rain, because it was nice to be able to use the fire pit and picnic table. The float was also great. A little confusing at first, so make sure you confirm put in time and which float you're doing (the 5 or the 8 mile). We did the 8 mile and were on the river by 10:30. Unfortunately, they were a little slow to get our raft ready as we had rented a 4 person instead of the standard 6, and they had to go back to the barn to get it. However, once we got on the river it was all good. All of the equipment was in good shape. We'd rented the raft mentioned before, which was big enough for 4 adults and a fairly big cooler, as well as a canoe and 3 single person kayaks. The kayaks were in probably some of the best shape I've seen for float trip rentals. You do have to be out by 6:30pm or else you are charged an additional $20/craft/hour, so watch your time. The 8 mile took us from 10:30 to about 5:30, and we didn't feel like we stopped THAT many times, but we also didn't rush either. Basically, enjoy yourself just be aware of the time. Once you get to NRO (the giant campground) you'll have about 2 more miles to float, so that's a good gauge of time. We've floated the Elk River several times before, as well as with other outfitters on the Niangua, and I would say this was our most positive experience yet. Overall I would definitely stay with Riverfront again, and probably in the same cabin as well. read more

The office staff weren't the friendliest. They also forgot our scheduled appointment to be picked up for our float. They came fairly quick after we called to remind them, but not after first stating that we hadn't scheduled a pick up, despite the fact that we had signed paperwork (waiver) with the pick up time on it. The bus driver who then picked us up wasn't too friendly and never spoke to us other than we asked how to find our pick up spot. We stayed at the Danceyard Hollow cabin. There were eight of us and we stayed three days. It is advertised as two bedrooms and a loft which is inaccurate. There are no private sleeping areas. The loft, with two double beds, is open to the main area. There is then a double and two single beds in the basement. There are sofa sleepers on the main level and in the basement. The cabin is advertised as able to sleep twelve. We paid $225 per night, which was reasonable. There is one full bathroom and a half bath, which is in the loft. Pack your own toilet paper. After being told that everything was provided, we had to make an hour long round trip to Walmart to buy some as two rolls will not last eight people for three days. One full bathroom for 8 was tough. Glad we didn't have the full 12. Also, bring knives as the two found in the kitchen both sucked. The BBQ grill is tiny so it takes a very long time to grill enough meat for eight people. Other side items we had planned to grill ended up being cooked inside so that we would be able to get the meat done. I would say the grill is meant for two people. (The cabin is advertised as sleeping 12.) I was impressed that we had more than enough pillows and blankets. The bed we slept in was reasonably comfortable. There was a crock pot in the kitchen. Had I known that before we went, I would've planned a crock pot dinner for after the float, knowing we would be exhausted! Once we got on the water, the float was fantastic! The water was very low so we did have to drag the raft a few times. We thoroughly enjoyed our day on the river. At our take out point, we had a much friendlier bus driver. We made stops at a couple other results first though, so I'm not sure she was a Riverfront employee. Before checking out we needed to take out the trash, wash and put away all dishes and start a load of towels in the washer. All very reasonable. Danceyard Hollow is off site from the main resort. The address provided is not found by GPS. The cabin is down a gravel road, next to a cemetery. We arrived after 10 pm, and all four couples got lost. It isn't easy to find at night, so make sure you arrive in the daytime. There is a nice deck out back, but done if the chairs are broken. The view is of the cemetery, but it is surrounded by woods and quite peaceful. AT& T phones had service. T-mobile did not. The leader of our group who planned the trip felt deceived by the description of the cabin. She expected some private sleeping areas. The photos on the resort website make the cabin look much larger than it actually is. The majority of the group wants a different cabin and resort next year, so that is what we'll do. I, personally, am not opposed to staying at Danceyard again now that I know what to expect. I do really wish that the staff was friendlier and more service minded though. Kind of puts a damper on an otherwise fun filled weekend when the staff are rude and unfriendly. read more

Highly recommend Riverfront for your family's one stop shop for lodging and floating in and around the Niangua River. We rented one of the remote cabins for our family of four. It exceeded our expectations in every way-- and we are needy city dwellers! We also did the 8 mile float with our two young kids and the experience was great! The raft and inner tube were clean and safe and the hospitality from the guys who put us in and picked us up was friendly, patient and helpful. We will definitely be back! read more

Checking in was easy and the two girls at the front desk were wonderful to work with. We picked this place because it appeared they had tent sites directly on the river, which was a perk for us. Upon checking in they said take any spot you'd like. I asked for something on the river and they just said yep, anywhere you can find a spot. I thought that was weird but just figured there must've been plenty of availability. There had been some rain but the campground on a whole was extremely flooded. Large puddles of water everywhere, which means lots of mosquitos. We struggled to find a site that was 1- level 2- without water and 3- with grass. We eventually found what could've been a half decent spot somewhat close to the river but because of all the standing water the mosquitos were unbearable. The river access at the best spot was also less than desirable. There was also a fair amount of trash left behind by previous campers. I'm guessing younger crowds use this place to party. We moved further inland to a nice grassy spot, still surrounded by large puddles but the mosquitos seemed better. This spot was definitely camp-able. And we had plenty of privacy, that was a definite plus. However, come night time there was a ton of car traffic, people coming in and out and we were getting blasted with headlights constantly. Around 10pm 3 full carloads of people came in driving around looking for spots and lit up our "private" site the entire time. Then they left their headlights on for over an hour, shining right into us as they set up camp. We were in bed by 10pm but had their lights beaming onto us until after 11pm. I tried to call the camp but no answer. I would have just walked over and asked but they seemed like a large group of younger adults and I didn't want the confrontation. To end an interesting review, I was awoken in the middle of the night by skunks nosing around our tent and campsite. To be clear, all food and coolers were put inside our vehicle when we called it a night. Luckily, after a while of snooping around the tent they left us alone and we were not sprayed. But was still a scary moment. All in all the camp was not great. The standing water made the bugs miserable and the overall camp just needs some TLC. There's plenty of other camping around, and some even cheaper. I would choose those. read more

This is a beautiful location that sits right on the Niangua River and just outside the Bennett Spring State Park. The owners really have the campground laid out well and the setting is very picturesque. The facilities are all clean and it was very quiet. There were several families there with kids and pets. I love camping because I love nature. I wish there was more of that at this campground. I watched people drive around in a side by side nlappearing to not be doing anything while trash sat on tables, in firepits on on beaches. There was a ripped eazyup laying near the beach upside down for almost the entire week.Firepits don't get cleaned out, just moved. I watched as two cabins got turned over for new guests.....and I only saw trash go out. It is a great spot, I just wish there was more pride in ownership. read more

We have rented a cabin from Riverfront 3 times in the last four years. They are apart of our family tradition. We absolutely love renting from them. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. We usually rent the Cave Creek cabin (which I highly recommend) it not on the campground and we normally come during the off season as a getaway from the city and its just perfect. We've enjoyed it so much we're working on planning a trip out this summer to pick blueberries and float! They are easy to find right outside of Bennett Springs park (like walking distance) and have many options for accommodations. The cabins are significantly nicer and more accommodating then the ones in the park - for our money and value this is where we go! read more

Great value and customer service! Our fridge went out while we were there, and one of the maintenance men came by and brought us a cooler with Ice to get us by until the new fridge was put in. They came out with a new one within a couple of hours. The rates were reasonable and we had a great time! read more

What a beautiful place. The property is extremely large with a lot of different type of tent camping options. The staff is polite and the river is wet. What else would you need? It's not a crazy gnarly party place, but there it is definitely s good time. My wife, son, and dog drive up from Branson regularly to escape reality. We love it! read more

We stayed in Bluff View cabin. Reasonable rates. We came in Thursday night and needed to stop at a grocery store, Lebanon is about 20 mins away, and it's right down the same highway that got you to the campgrounds ( just in case you have t mobile and don't have signal). The cabin was clean and tidy. We floated on friday, which was nice and quiet. Sat my kids swam in the river and on sunday we checked out. I'm glad we didn't float on Sat because it was crowded. Let's start by saying that I will never come back. There are so many other campgrounds around that I would check them out first. The lack of communication and people skills here... Are terrible. ( I put two stars because not every,employee was bad, the lady manager was nice, and all the kids working there were super nice, friendly, and respectful.) they messed up our float trip by not telling US a time to be there, after already taking deposit, then when the lady came to find us and tell us we we could do it , it was already too late And was already beyond frustrated at this point. Declined and just walked up and went down to camp site, canoe trip, was a little scary, I think they should of mentioned that it wasn't for beginners, prepare yourself if you havnt canoed in years, don't go. Flipped several times and really injured ourselfs, then when you finally make it to take out and 9 of us were waiting for 30 minutes, we called and the said they couldn't come get us early,and we had to wait around for 2 hours before they could get us... Defintly not a good experience. Oh yeah got back and hot water wasn't working, we decided to just pack up and leave and not stay another night. Not a great experience and majority of if was from lack on communication and rudeness of employees. Definitely do your research. read more

Where to start? Phone reservation, good. Taking our deposit, good. Holding our reservation, good. Delivering what was promised, not so much!!! Planed a family trip,peeps coming from Colorado, Arizona, Kansas, Missouri. Needed cabins, and got cabins, some !8 miles away from others!! I understood all our cabins would not be side by side, but 18 miles away? Really?? Never mentioned! Riverfront? Yes, they have some of that, but not if you are in one of their cabins. Cabins with river access? Well, yes, if you want to drive down a 1/4 mile switchback, that is more donkey trail than road. Did I mention the sign that says, "4x4 only', is half way down this trail, with no place to turn around????!!!! I do have 4 wheel drive, made it down to a couple of really nice mud holes, close to a backwater slough. NICE. They had mowed the weeds down, and cut some low branches from the trees by the mud holes, and they were still laying right where they fell! I guess they are waiting for the next flood to finish their work! The cabins are nice, they really are, just make sure you call ahead hours in advance and ask them to turn the AC on if you expect to sleep the first night. We were excited to stay at a campground where we could finish our float where we were staying, to avoid the end of float bus ride. That is what we paid for, this is what I discussed with the wicked owner woman, but again, that is not what was delivered. She was so pleasant and helpful on the phone, months in advance, giving me the yes , yes, to everything I wanted. All the float guys were great, the drivers as well. We had a great float, river was fine. But we did have the bus ride at the end. It seems all the trouble comes from a nasty owner lady, who, when questioned about mix ups, called me a liar, and told my wife she needs to shut up and learn how to listen!!! Now people, I'm telling you, I wouldn't even try to get away with that! But my lovely wife let it pass, saying the wicked witch behind the counter wasn't worth the time. They have a busy place, Cars and trucks up and down the gravel road from 6 in the morning to late at night. I am sure this post wont hurt them, but people need to know, that owner lady is evil! So, if you want a family gathering where you don't have to be with your family, these cabins are for you! But, if you want to be close to your family or friends, there are lots of other campgrounds, USE THEM!!! read more

We had a lot of space to choose from since we were camping on a Sunday and Monday night. We had a great spot next to the river where the kids could play. The showers were Okay, but we had to drive to get to them as the kids would not use port a potty that was within walking distance. The store was very small and didn't offer a lot of extras in case you forgot something but they did have the essentials including ice. I don't expect a lot of amenities when I go camping, so I would definitely return here. read more

I would not recommend staying in the cabins here. We stayed for two nights, the first night there was a spider hanging out on our pillow before we went to bed. The next day there was a spider AT LEAST the size of a tennis ball above the bed. It was the biggest spider I've seen. The float was good and the people were nice, but I will never stay in a cabin there again. Also, they seem to be a little over priced. read more

This has become the campground of choice for our yearly camp weekend. Once a year we find sitters for all the little ones and spend a weekend hanging out and camping. (6 couples) It's not the nicest campground you'll ever go to but it's much better than NRO in my opinion and less loud/crazy. Bathrooms have always been very clean and the staff is very nice. You have access to a couple floating options and we've traditionally done the long one but it takes you by NRO which is often a beer-can littered ugly mess by the river, which makes for a less pleasant float. Not sure what's so hard about putting your cans in the trash-sacks they give you when you float... We've discussed next year doing the half day float which actually lets you finish at the campground and dodge NRO. Playground in the middle of the camp area and a volleyball area as well. We went 6/23-6/25 this year which is a very busy weekend in general but didn't feel crowded as the spaces are decently sized. We will be back again in September with the kids. read more
