They put up a lot of Hummingbird feeders, and it attracts many species, including the beautiful Blue-throated Mountain Gem. I talked with one of the staff, and they were very friendly and informative. They regularly fill the hummingbird feeders and prepare meals for residents. I know this is a place for research, and I know they host residents, but I just know about this place as a premier birding location. They have a nice gift shop, too.

No research is done here. People come here to do their own research, from counting species to observing them, from bears and mountain lions to birds and insects. A pond for the native Leopard frog helps raise the endangered species. Researchers can stay on premise in the dorms and prices vary from $48 to $140 There is also a cafeteria for researchers. None researchers can visit the gift shop
