I finally made it back to the Lizard and this time I brought my beer-drinking friend. We each had a dog, arrived at 12:10pm, and sat inside. We were barely seated and an employee brought a bowl of water for the pups. We came for the Monday burger special, where the burgers on the first page of their burger menu are $8.50 with fries. My friend had a cheddar burger and I had the Brewpub Garlic-Licken burger, allegedly their top seller. I recommend this burger! The area had a hard rain storm earlier in the morning and it was cooler than usual for July. The AC was on, which made it a tad chilly for us, but the dogs were happy. read more

Absolutely delicious everytime!!!!! We love their burgers!!! They are cooked to the right temp and always hot!!!! They have one of the best ranches I have ever had! It goes perfectly with their Frickles (fried pickles). Their tacos are delicious as well!! The staff is always friendly even when busy. They have no problem answer any questions about the menu. So sad, both times we tried this place. First time took 90 minutes to receive our order. It was very tasty but service was poor. We tried again December 2025 and again service was terrible and the food never arrived... we had to leave soooo hungry. read more

We went in and sat in the bar. Didn't know at the time that there was an entire other part where families were eating. One server for the entire place with maybe 12-15 people in the bar. Plus several table in the other room with around another 10-15 people. Food was marginal. One of us got the "lizards tails" appetizer which was fried Anaheim peppers. Thought it would be similar to jalapeño poppers. It kinda was, minus the cheese, the heat, and the flavor. Everyone got some kind of burger or sandwich and nobody was thrilled by their meal. Definitely not worth the drive for us coming from Tucson and Tombstone. Maybe if you lived in Bisbee it would be an ok place to stop by for a beer. AFTER a break of 2+ years I went back as a bunch of friends were going. Same sad story at the bar, no decent wine...just some sweet stuff. I'd drink BOX wine for god's sake! They obviously don't care about people who don't drink liquor or beer. So I ordered fish tacos. What a surprise...served on what looked like naan bread, so the plate was mostly bread. Wow. This is a diamond in the middle of nowhere! The staff were friendly and did well with our party of 20. The food all came out hot and we didn't wait long. The donkey balls were yummy little pizza balls. Don't let the $20 Philly fool you. It is huge and can be shared and it was authentic Philly made. Yummy!! read more

Best damn cheese burger I have ever had. After visiting Bisbee AZ, went out of town for lunch. It seemed out in the middle of nowhere. Went in, ordered a couple of drinks and some nachos to snack on. Those were pretty good so we ordered lunch. The atmosphere was peaceful with a few locals in and out. Service was spot on. And as I mentioned, the food was awesome. Writing this review several days after my visit to The Thirsty Lizard I can still feel the sweat on my brow and upper lip and vividly recall that OH SHIT moment when the heat from the stuffed habanero hits you full force. We wandered in to The Thirsty Lizard while taking a Sunday drive and it looked like the perfect place to land for a bit. Very inviting when you open the door and we found a high top to sit at even though the place was pretty busy for a lazy Sunday afternoon. The wait staff seemed a little confused as to whether we'd been helped or not but eventually made their way to us. A couple of beers and some chicharrones were soon sitting in front of us as we waiting for our food. Man, whatever they shake on those chicharrones is fantastic....heat AND a touch of sweet. We split an order of tacos and decided to try the stuffed habaneros. The tacos were delicious. As for the cream cheese stuffed, deep fried habaneros....well, I guess I'm more of a gringo than I thought because I could not handle the heat. Took one bite and as soon as the heat hit, grabbed it out of my mouth and muttered some salty language while my tongue hung out of my mouth. Those suckers were HOT! After cooling my mouth with whatever was on hand (beer, bleu cheese dressing, celery, water, pico de gallo, hand sanitizer from my purse - KIDDING!) we enjoyed another beer and listened to the band play. So nice that they have live music and the old guys playing seemed to really enjoy what they do. The Thirsty Lizard is a great place to stop and you're sure to feel welcome. Awesome place, great atmosphere with the best staff that's so welcoming with great attitudes. This place has changed from what it was before, it's been renovated and it's super clean with a good looking bar and a gme area with many options to relax and have fun. The food is on point and the drinks are just as good. This place pretty much either has live music or karaoke going on in the weekends which is definitely worth a stop to see. I've gone a.few times and feel bad I havent done this review before, because the establishment and the amazing staff deserve recognition for how good this place is. This place is definitely off the beaten path but is definitely worth seeking out. Situated in a simple roadhouse style bar is a cozy, friendly bar/restaurant. Nice mix of clientele and a very friendly staff. Simple pub fare that is a notch above in taste. I had a burger with some sort of nuclear cream cheese poppers/"balls" on it that was excellent. The Mrs. had some excellent battered chicken tenders and great onion rings. Really enjoyed the food. I explored a little and there's a sizeable back room with pool tables and a ping pong table. Looks like that would be some fun for the evening crowd. Will be back. read more

We came here after graduation, after 9pm. Lots of different options on the menu. I had the dragon fire salad and that dressing was ! The onion rings were great too. The others I was with had burgers and said they were good too. Chips and salsa was good and the fried fish looked good. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back for more. read more

Returned twice to The Thirsty Lizard since our first visit. The food was good, but they were out of many items. Unfortunately they were the items we had wanted to order. Their 'Specials' weren't so special as they had drastically reduced the number of options available. On prior visits you were able to have Any Burger or Any Salad on the menu for $5 on Mondays, a very generous offering. You now have just 2 burger and 2 salad choices for the special price. The salad choices are not at all special, as the reduced price is for the small, not the full, salad. The Desert Caesar Salad was good, but not a Caesar, as the romaine was replaced with cabbage and had no Parmesan cheese. Presentation is nice, except for the plastic cutlery. Drinks were skimpy pours and overpriced. Our server was busy and seemed stressed, and then made a small mistake by delivering a half portion of fries, although we had ordered a full to share. Bill was adjusted. No big deal. We sat outdoors on a delightfully sunny and warm day, which was nice, after the political blowhard noisily sharing his opinions took off. Friendly folks at the neighboring tables were pleasant to chat with. We'll be back again. We hope it was an off day for service. We hope that on our next time to eat at TTL their supplies are more evenly stocked. Keep trying, and we'll bear with you. read more

We ate here for Thanksgiving day; it was some of the very best resturant food for thanksgiving we have ever had. They seated us family style with about 10 people per table and the food located in a seperate table between the tables. Every last item they served was done to perfection, wait staff was very attentive. to make it even better it was all you could eat and they gave you take out boxes for that midnight snack. I was told to check The Thirsty Lizard out and I'm glad I was as there's no way I would have accidentally stumbled upon it. I was also advices to order Lizard Fries with Dragon Sauce which sounds like a dish served in a fantasy novel, but sounds quite appetizing when you learn the ingredients are crispy crinkle cut French fries and morsels of tri-tip beef with a spicy sauce. Dragon is the spicy sauce but you can substitute Lizard sauce if you don't want the heat. I'm uncertain if I got Dragon sauce as it was not intimidating at all in its spiciness. Decent selection of beers on tap including some spouts for local Bisbee Brewery. Lots of outdoor seating for COVID. Live music too. read more

New owners::: Food as good as always. But it is my last time going. I shouldn't show up and my 13 year old complains about it smelling like weed (yes, pot) Stayed for hour plus and it smelled so bad every time side doors were opened. I won't go back now.
