    Donkey Balls with marinara

This place was worth the stop. Wonderful, friendly service, the drinks and food were delicious. Highly recommend the Donkey Balls and Lizard Tails-so good! French Onion Burger and Chicken Strips were excellent as well. House made blackberry margarita and old fashioned were unique and worth going back for.

Wow. This is a diamond in the middle of nowhere! The staff were friendly and did well with our party of 20. The food all came out hot and we didn't wait long. The donkey balls were yummy little pizza balls. Don't let the $20 Philly fool you. It is huge and can be shared and it was authentic Philly made. Yummy!!

Awesome place, great atmosphere with the best staff that's so welcoming with great attitudes. This place has changed from what it was before, it's been renovated and it's super clean with a good looking bar and a gme area with many options to relax and have fun. The food is on point and the drinks are just as good. This place pretty much either has live music or karaoke going on in the weekends which is definitely worth a stop to see. I've gone a.few times and feel bad I havent done this review before, because the establishment and the amazing staff deserve recognition for how good this place is. Check it out you wont be let down.

Ask the Community - The Thirsty Lizard Bar & Grill

What are your current hours and are you open for dine in? :)

At this time, we are only open Friday & Saturday from noon to 8pm and Sunday until 7pm. And yes, we are dine-in or take-out!

Why does this place close so early?

Because out in the "middle of nowhere", it seems the sidewalks roll up around 7pm during the week. We were open until midnight every night for the first several months. It was pretty pointless to stay open past 8pm during the week. And we are family…

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a separate sitting room and a large bathroom. The lady who took care of us in the café was exceptionally kind, and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Warner Hotel to anyone spending the night in Bisbee. Our only caveat is that the parking area is not clearly marked, and it took us a couple of trips around the block before we found it. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience!

Having the opportunity to regularly stay over many accommodations across and occasionally outside the country, not a professional hotel reviewer by any means, and not a regular business traveler - but as a primarily pleasure and needs wanderer, I have developed as what I believe is my concise method for scoring the worthiness of each hotel visited. My criteria are as follows and the results are: 1) ease of access to and from public or private ground transportation [Score: 4.0]; 2) convenient and safe parking [Score : 4.0]; 3) access, accuracy and convenience of check in and check out [Score: 3.5]; 4) atmosphere, ambience, public facilities, lounging areas and access to an office center and Wi-Fi access [Score: 3.5]; 5) overall customer service - including but not limited to Hospitality, Support Services, Concierge knowledge, communication, attitude and demeanor of staff [Score: 2.0]; 6) quality, cleanliness, value, convenience, amenities (i.e., ironing board, iron, TV, charging access, phone, et.al.) and comfort of rooms, beds, room safe and/or valet services [Score: 3.5]; Taking all the aforementioned categories in a scale of 1 star to 5 stars with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best a hotel can be! This hotel rates a: 3.0. Most positive point(s) at this hotel is/are: the history and owner effort to maintain it heritage while making it comfortable to today's standards. My price to value to overall assessment: pretty good. The most negative aspects... A major caveat for making overall comparisons is the age of the hotel. In spite of an incredible amount of effort in modernizing, it holds some issues especially for anyone with mobility issues. It long staircases and the hilly environment surrounding the hotel should be a forethought rather than an afterthought in staying at the Hotel Warner.

You have to climb a hill every time you go to the parking lot. The elevator didn't work during my trip, and judging by the reviews before my own, it probably won't work for you, either. You might have to climb 3 flights of stairs every time you need to go to your room. Yes, the air is thinner--this is about the same elevation as Prescott, or Denver. If you can brave these conditions, you will be rewarded! The atmosphere is as good as it gets, and you really feel like you've been sent back in time. There are so many cool, communal areas--a bar on the first floor, a lounge with a working piano on the second. You'll even find a balcony with some seating and one of the best views in town. It's in the center of downtown, and walking distance from almost anywhere around here you'd want to go. Not to say there isn't any room for improvement. The weather is splendid most of the year, I'm sure, but this uniquely scorching summer overpowered their antiquated AC in the middle of the day. I don't like the old-timey bathtub with the 360 curtain, but I have to admit that it looks cool. There's room for some sort of shelf in the bathroom, but I guess they never got around to that. The inconveniences are forgivable, and if you don't dwell on them so much it really helps immerse you into a sense of rugged Southwestern history.

What a miserable experience and it soured my whole trip, so much so that I left after one uncomfortable night and went home. It's a non smoking hotel, but the front desk staff sits outside the front door and smokes. When we came back to the hotel after dinner they offered an upgraded room for us to move to. The hostility we felt at check in, the apathy ...the lack of welcoming we experienced was unlike anywhere else I've ever been. Not ONCE were we made to feel welcome. So we left and were told we would not receive a refund for the 2nd night that we did not use- Stay away from this place!

We called to make a reservation- if stairs are challenging choose the first floor (more accessible but louder). We were seated on the 3rd floor and it was perfect. Much more quiet and had a musician playing the guitar! Our Server was Laurel and she explained the daily specials and answered questions about the menu. We ordered the sampler which came with artichokes wrapped in bacon, dates and red peppers stuffed with cream cheese. I could have eaten like five more samplers because they were that good. For dinner, I order the Penne pasta with spicy sausage. My husband ordered the lamb meatballs, which came with couscous and chickpeas in a very mild curry sauce, which was perfect even for me. I don't need lamb and I'm not big on curry and I thought his dish was delicious. We had the creme brule for dessert and that was great as well. For drinks I ordered a Matador Rose (tequila, rose, tamarind and grapefruitz) and hubby had the Excalibur (Bourbon, blackberry, bitters). Both were SO good and fairly strong without messing with the flavors.

We arrived just under the wire as the last table seated for the evening and were fully prepared to be turned away, but the hostess kindly welcomed us in. Our server was warm, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about both the food and its preparation. As the evening went on, we learned that this is a family-run restaurant, which only added to the charm and warmth of the experience. I ordered the mussels, one of my favorite dishes, while my girlfriend had the artichoke and mushroom lasagna. For dessert we shared the crème brûlée and a caramel nut tart with mascarpone. Both of us have traveled extensively, eaten at many excellent restaurants around the world, and this was genuinely one of the better meals we've had. The restaurant is beautifully and thoughtfully designed, the food was exceptional, and the service matched it perfectly. As a business owner myself, and as an artist who deeply appreciates craftsmanship and people doing things well, I can't express enough how much I enjoyed the experience.
