Oh my god- this place is the savior of food in Switzerland. I'm sorry but Switzerland may be known…read morefor their amazing chocolate but food is definitely not their specialty, unless you're into bland food and smelly (albeit tasty, sometimes) cheese. Cèdre-Bellevue serves Lebanese food and I can tell that the owners are from Lebanon which is indeed comforting. Absolutely everything was delicious- a rare occasion indeed especially in Zurich, but truly nothing missed the mark. My personal favorite was the arayes- the lemon potatoes inside were amazing and I haven't had arayes with this before. All in all, if you're in Switzerland despite this not being Swiss food, do yourself a favor and try it. It's some of the best Lebanese food I've had and I live in NYC haha.

The food is good but the service not…read more I've been to Le Cèdre at Bellevue twice and twice I had a similar experience. The restaurant is centrally located, just next to the Limmat river a few steps from Bellevue. I've had both the Mezze menu and the a la carte options and I must say the food quality is good, the price is right for what you get. But I cannot get over the really non-existent service. I think they are convinced that due to the prime location it's not necessary to be friendly and prompt? A good example was that when ordering another round of drinks, we had to wait 30 mins (no special orders) while some of the staff was just standing around the bar. In addition, it doesn't feel like you are welcome, they seem to be annoyed by all the guests. I've been to Cedre at their Badenerstrasse location which is much better service wise but in summer they have limited outdoor seating capacity. If you are ok with soso service and decent food at a prime location, do go to Le Cedre Bellevue. Else, I'll prefer to take my business somewhere else, their sister restaurant for example!

Where do you eat after a dim sum debacle?…read more Place is among dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance of our Adler hotel. Pictures on the wall of each food item, along with an associated price, for those struggling with their German. Just point and mumble. I ordered the fisch mit reis und salad fur 18 chf, and the wife ordered the stuffed egg plant with rice and salad for 14 chf. Hole in the wall restaurant with a few tables outside and more tables inside. We order inside, and sit outside. Service is good, and our meals arrive in minutes. My salad comes with several large slices of tomato, cabbage and lettuce, all soaked in a Ranch like white dressing. The white rice has a butter aftertaste. The fried fish is perfect, not fried too much, just enough to cook the insides, and is tender and flaky to the touch. Wife's stuffed eggplant tastes different from the eggplant at home, and comes stuffed with sliced beef inside, and other ingredients. Not to my wife's tastes, but she eats it all. Has a piece of my fish, and loves it. Whole meal comes to 32 chf. I go inside with the bill. Proprietor apparently expects cash, and feints misunderstanding, when I mention paying by credit card. Finally I give him a 100 chf bill, and get change in coins and small bills. Got to save those coins, as the public toilets are often pay per flush, or about 1.50 chf per flush! As I go outside, I see the visa credit card symbol on the window! Scammed again like a true tourist!

The service was impeccable. The food sublime. i had "steak" and my wife had Pale Paneer…read more portions were spot on. definitely a top 10 meal and very comparable to Kong in Lisbon. While we ordered service, the buffet looks pretty strong.

Yelp Review 2026 #64:…read more I'm not vegetarian and definitely not vegan. But I will dabble with the veg from time to time. Hiltl is popular for being the world's oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world. Here's information I will share that I wish was available before planning to come here. You must make a reservation for lunch/ dinner because that's when they're busy. Breakfast is for walk-ins and they don't do reservations. Hop on their website and be sure you're on the right location because they have several within a 2-mile radius...some on the same street. I went here to try their breakfast buffet. I wasn't sure how busy they got for breakfast so, I got here at 6:30am because I got the wrong information online! They open at 7am. Different locations have different hours. Check their website for actual hours and don't trust review site information because it's wrong! They're not busy for breakfast at all. There's 2 ways to do their buffet. You can pay a fixed price and fill your plate multiple times or go and fill your plate once and pay based on the weight of your food - you get free bread. I did the pay-by-weight option. I have a whole day of eating planned so, I wasn't about to fill up for breakfast. When they opened at 7am, they were still putting the food out one by one. By 7:20, all the food was out which was fine. I was in no rush. The spread includes fresh fruits, cheeses, butter, margarine, cheesecake, chocolate mousse, mango mousse, mango chia pudding, banana chocolate brownie crumble, a pear dessert (with cream, vanilla and orange), rosti, scrambled eggs, potato salad, tomato and mozzarella salad, beets, chickpeas, olives, couscous, corn salad, olives, asparagus, green peas, feta cheese, hardboiled eggs, curry salad, dolmades, broccoli and edamame, artichoke salad, bulgur salad, tabbouleh, orecchiette tofu salad, Thai salad, hummus, guacamole, muhammara, etc. They have 6 types of bread. Slice a piece and toast it yourself. Vegan and vegetarian food tend to taste strongly of coconut/ coconut milk and I don't like that. My favorites from the buffet include chocolate mousse, mango mousse, banana chocolate brownie crumble, dolmades, asparagus, orecchiette tofu salad, and Thai salad. I got a mango lassi to drink which I didn't like. It had curry powder. Service was pleasant. The restaurant was clean.
