Wolverine CPA staff is exceptional. I called Wolverine office directly trying to find a CPA Tax preparer to finish and file my 2025 IRS Taxes. I had tried to do my taxes myself and had completed everything except one serious problem with inputting and coding one of my 1099-R as a refund of Basis I prepaid on an annuity product that I cancelled and the Basis was refunded to me, not to be counted as income. The program I was using included the amount refunded as Income instead of refund of Basis adding to my gross income. Struggling with the program, I could not get this resolved and could not finish my taxes. I called Wolverine and John Eaton answered my call. I explained the above to John. John actually listens. John came up with solutions. He said I did not need Wolverine for a simple return because of the cost. John proposed that he recommend a tax preparer to do my return and file it. John made 3 phone calls on my behalf and consulted with his staff members to find a person out of office qualified to do my returns. John called me back to keep me informed of his progress. John consulted with me about my tax problem on his time and with no compensation. John Eaton is extraordinary, capable, smart, kind and generous. Wolverine CPA Company is exceptional in the field and I very highly recommend Wolverine CPA. No other company made any effort to talk to me and guide me. They did a great job talking with me on the phone about a relatively simple matter, but it took 20 minutes out of their day and they did not charge anything for their time and expertise. Next time. To preface this review: Wolverine Tax did a great job of organizing our tax returns and handling the complications of a multi-state and newly married household. Our phone call to finalize the return was friendly, efficient, and professional. My issue with Wolverine Tax is their misleading price structure. My wife and I were told that our $650 deposit would cover 2 hours of consultation and we would only pay more if our return took more time. Before putting down the money, we told them our tax situation and were assured that our return ("like most") would stay within the 2 hour time. We sent in the requested forms and scheduled a call to go over our returns. Wolverine didn't properly enter the first call, but after scheduling a second call they were ready. The call was around 20 minutes, and the total time of consultation wasn't mentioned at all. We ended the call happy with our completed return and expected that our $650 was well spent. This was in late March. In early June, we receive an invoice for $893.75. We had received no information about how this time was spent, or a notice when we had exceeded our deposit. When we contacted them to dispute the charge, they were slow to respond. When we got a hold of them over the phone, they said 'You must have gone 4-5 hours over the time.' Eventually, they dropped the outstanding balance to $250 and we paid it to end the situation. If you are willing to pay $1500 for your tax return, I can absolutely recommend Wolverine Tax. They did quality work, but do not expect to pay $650 even if they assure you of that price from the start. read more

They are a team of true tax experts that I will return to time and time again. Not only are they excellent at the substance of the work, but they are compassionate people who go above and beyond to help their clients navigate through the complex IRS system. Both Gabe and Ross would call me and email me after hours(including on a Friday night ) when issues came up that caused me anxiety , and walked me through the situation.
