The other issue is the location of handicapped parking. The only parking place is designated for handicapped parking are located quite a distance from the docking area, and it makes it hard to get close without being dropped off and then going back to get the car later. There are however, handicap spaces marked for trucks or cars with trailers, which are located very close to the docking area, but none designated for just vehicles with handicapped placards.

There is a Porta Potty at the beginning of the trail in the parking lot. The trail is well maintained. The are parts where the elevation is a little steep and long. If you have lunch issues then the elevated parts may be an issue. There is one part where you have to cross the river that requires some balance and walking across stones or through the water, whichever you prefer. The trail has tree roots on it in several parts, so watch your ankles so you don't roll them. There are benches along the way to sit rest on and there are benches at the end of the trail overlooking the falls. The falls has a little pool below it that is fun for the kids who like to wade in it. There are large flat stone spaces where you can sit and observe the falls.

We had a tri-chapter meetup with my peeps from Body Liberation Outdoor Club - Northern NJ, Hudson Valley, and Eastern PA. Btdubs, if you're looking to enjoy the outdoors in an affirming space, holler at me. Anyway, we met at the Christman, Falls, and Cove Ridge trailhead and hiked a substantial loop to the falls, the Pohopoco river(?), and in and out of the woods. It was fantastic! Some nice elevation, soft packed trails, not too much mud, leafy forest bed, and as is common on the east coast - some roots and rocks to make sure you're paying attention. 5 miles of glorious spring sunshine and whispering trees. Couldn't ask for more! You Should Know: -parking at this trailhead is safe - room for about 8 or 9 cars and directly across from houses -this trail is NOT accessible -some parts of the trail sit high above the river - watch your step or else you'll take a devastating tumble to the great beyond -about 3/4 mile grassy walk to the actual trail from the parking area -If you use All Trails app, it was surprisingly accurate IYKYK - no bathrooms anywhere near here - pack in and pack out

The sites have a nice amount of trees in them and privacy between spots. We prefer the beach loop which is all tent camping. It usually is cold enough in the summer to need hoodies at night. There are a ton of chipmunks and squirrels. Make sure your food is secured well as they will find it and have chewed through our plastic totes to get to it. This morning we found that they got our chocolate bars, took them up into a tree and were dropping them half eaten onto the ground. Wildlife is nothing to mess with, they will cut you.

When we arrived, I was juggling a bunch of stuff and heard someone yelling from a house-like structure that we needed to pay. It was a little awkward since payment isn't collected near the entrance, but she apologized for shouting and explained they try to catch guests right away. Totally understood--and I had every intention to pay once I set our things down! The kids had a blast in the water and loved the volleyball net. We weren't thrilled about the ducks everywhere, but other families seemed to enjoy them. The snack shack had lunch options and snacks at reasonable prices. I came here for a place close to where I was going to attend PA motorcycle training classes (which, btw, are free). Site #46 is quiet,... oh wait,... not really. The acorns are falling out of the oak trees this time of year and, well,... let me put it this way, "shots fired" would be my analogy of what these huge acorns sound like as they come crashing down on the top of my pop up cap and canvas covers. I'm a certified firearm instructor so believe me when I tell you the shots will make you jump throughout the night. Forgot to mention the restroom facilities. Not well maintained if at all. No sink to wash up, no toilet paper (thankfully, I did have some of my own - thanks, Honey for thinking of that). Ah yes, water. I was told I had water at my site and I did,... it flows slow enough that I suspect a reverse osmosis spigot is being utilized so you really MUST pay that 50 cents if you want to clean up. Once again, I'm thankful I brought 5 gallons of water with me to cook my Mountain House meals with. Have I forgotten anything besides the good night's sleep I haven't had since arriving? Funny, all these acorns, not one squirrel or deer to be seen anywhere. Hunters out here must have an exceptionally high success rate and killed everything. I live in Bucks County (appropriately named) where we are inundated with both species of wildlife so not seeing animals wandering in the woods is strange to me. Whoops,... they almost got away with it. Electricity. I paid for it and I got it. The 30Amp breaker doesn't work nor does one of the two 15Amp breakers so,... putting it simply, I got enough electricity to run the refrigerator OR the AC... but not both so I alternated between the two as needed. Damn, just thought about the road to the site,... about the width of a truck and two way? Paved,... mostly. Plenty to be desired especially if your driving a low ground clearance Odyssey like I am and, since air bags are part of my rear suspension, I'm conscientious about those two air valves and lines sticking down on the inside of each wheel back there. Poorly paved road surfaces didn't improve my overall impression of this place. On the bright side: It didn't rain.
