They do not respond to any of their portal messages (why have a portal for communication if you aren't going to reply) and you can never reach anyone live if you need to speak to a nurse or doctor. read more

The receptionist said they have a computer glitch that randomly cancels appointments without notification. I asked the receptionist if the tables were turned and I double booked without notification, would I have consequences. She laughed and said yes and offered no recourse my troubles. Made two appointments within the last 3 weeks. Both times I went in I was told my appointments were canceled and had been rescheduled via a phone call. I never received a phone call, text, or email that any of this was happening. And each time the appointment was reschedule, it was changed to a day I wasn't even in town. When this occurred there was zero empathy from the front office staff. I am disgusted with this place. It's not like I'm making appointments for the hell of it. My husband and I are trying to start a family. As if we haven't been trying long enough, we are now delayed a month plus more due to a clinic that's supposed to help with this issue. I have waited to write this because I had a traumatic experience that I've been coming to terms with for the past year. A month after delivering my child, I experienced sudden and severe hemorrhaging. We're talking blood gushing down to my feet. When I called, I was told it was probably my period coming back. It wasn't. I'm glad I trusted my gut and took myself to the ER, because it was retained placenta and required an emergency DNC operation. Had I not, it would've risked sepsis. I get that the placenta is an imperfect organ, but the fact that A) this happened and B) that I was wasn't listened to leaves me fully unable to recommend this practice. read more

The doctor I've been seeing for the last 13 years at the Cove Bend location retired. I decided to try the other location on Armenia since it's closer to my new home. When I called to schedule the staff got me set up with an appointment the following week. I received a link to the online portal to update my info and fill out the annual forms. I like this better than arriving early to complete the forms in the office. The staff was pleasant, they took me back right at my appointment time. I was impressed I didn't have to wait at all. The nurse did go through my medical questionnaire with me, and they do ask you some personal questions in an open area where other people can hear. This could potentially make some people uncomfortable. My appointment was with Patty Moore, she was friendly and thorough. I appreciate that they are able to provide blood collection in the office. This saves me so much time and allows me to avoid dealing with Labcorp. read more

Too many things wrong with this place. They don't call you back. They don't listen to you when you are having issues. I called in to get my BC switched to what I was using before and they told me they had forgotten to test me for pre-menopause when I was in recently for my appointment and to come back in. They sent me a nasty letter when I didn't get my annual mammogram during COVID. I've been appalled at the way I was treated here but went back for four years thinking each incident is likely not the norm. However it's a pattern of consistent unprofessional practices on their part. I've tried repeatedly calling them about my upcoming appointment but they won't call me back or answer the phone. Absolutely terrible experience during the entire pregnancy. Just can't describe everything what they did to me. I would never ever recommend anyone to deal with these scammers. They interested ONLY ON BILLING YOUR INSURANCE AND YOUR CREDIT CARD. They set up OBG budget regardless you have private insurance (I had Oxford UHC) my budget was $3500 and I paid it all. during this time I paid extra for everything - ultrasound, labs, stress test (have no idea wth is that). Once when I was 8 months pregnant the medical Assistant asked me if I had period last month. you will see 10 doctors during your pregnancy and every time they will ask you same questions, like your chats doesn't exist. This is so annoying and unprofessional. In addition, if you will deliver baby on weekends - forget about these 10 doctors you've seen during 9 month, someone else will deliver your baby!! In 2022 I had to wait 3 hours to see the doctor. I scheduled my mamo and annual back to back. The mamo was on time and quick but the doctor was NOT. Appointments are hard to get so I waited and complained to the doctor and the GM. I heard while I was there that there is ALWAYS a long wait for that doctor. Now this year was even better. I made the appointment 1-2 months in advance as usual and I had scheduled my mamo and annual )with a different doctor) back to back 8:30 and 9:00 AM. I got reminders at 8:05 AM about my appointments and 8:10 AM I got a notice that said they were Out of Network NOW and I'd pay $275 vs FREE. Now mind you I'd already left the house for the appointment and I wasn't looking at text messages! I found this out when I arrived and checked in and then I turned around and walked out. Don't you think they would've told me this when I made the appointment and they usually verify that you have insurance for your insurance hasn't changed?!?! I've been with the practice for the last 6yrs and I cannot say enough good things about the office staff and *majority* of clinicians. Dr. Van Benekkon, who has since retired from OB, delivered 3 of our babies; and Dr. Butterworth delivered our last little guy. Dr. V is beyond amazing, Dr. Butterworth had big shoes to fill and did an awesome job. (All of my births are c/section). Dr. New is great, Dr. Balankey, Macy Saunders, Tyra Gunn are all great. Jinny, who helps with the enormous amount of FMLA paperwork, is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Every time, she has gone above and beyond to make sure everything was completed to perfection and sent over in a timely manner. All around, the staff here are truly terrific and I am so grateful to have been with this practice! read more

They charge you out of pocket for your delivery fees. They had me paying $1,400-$1,900 a visit for my delivery (even though my insurance covers all my appointments and delivery). If you refuse to pay, they will not see you. I was denied my apointment because I couldnt pay my out of pocket $1,600 + amount EACH MONTH. That is ridiculous!!! The doctors were good but the front desk staff is HORRIBLE. The "budget coordinator" or whatever she is is totally MIA. She seems to be always "on vacation" because not once did she email me budget details or sit down with me and explain why i would be charged this much out of pocket each month. The front desk receptionist at the Brandon location told me I had to pay since "I am new to the office" not ONCE did she mention anything about them charging my delivery fees. All they care about is your money, horrible customer service and no one to explain any of this to you. I have reported them and hope something gets done about this because why charge someone so much money per visit when your insurance is already covering it and then DENY you your appointment because you can't afford to pay $1,600 a visit. I have been a patient since high school (back when it was known as North FL OBGYN). They have delivered two of my children and provided me with healthcare/medications. In recent years (post covid) their quality and care has gone down significantly. I was not notified when my doctor retired and I found out when I arrived for my follow up for my IUD insertion. They placed me in the care of a midwife who had no knowledge of the medication I was on. I was also never notified when the facility I was seen in was closed or relocated, I observed this when I drove by one day and saw the building was empty. My address and phone number have not changed and I was never notified or contacted with any of the changes mentioned. They do however contact you when you have an outstanding balance of $25 that I was never notified of until today. I am appalled at their lack of empathy and communication. I will be changing OBGYN's. They really don't want to deal with issues. My primary had performed my yearly but I have additional concerns that they advised to seek a specialist. Having a large variety of doctors would seem great. Except attempting an apt is nightmarish. You will get funneled into VM blackholes where you are never called back, you will have doctors refuse you because you dared to already have your yearly done. And you will have additional requirements for paperwork and referrals despite whatever insurance you may have. I am actually still waiting for my test results. Again placed in voicemail hell with no response from the dr or office. I plan to grab copies of any of my results and run. They seem friendly once you actually get in. I wouldn't even give them a 1 star if that was the option. They will take your money and will refuse to get your procedures authorized prior to your appointment. I am an OB patient hoping for the best care for myself and my unborn. Now sitting on a $4k bill because they stated that "many insurance companies do not pay for genetic screening or testing and individual policies may vary." That is MANY. Well come to find out (after the lab is drawn) my insurance would have covered the lab IF prior authorization was obtained. Well they neglected to do their job and now I have a bill and will be unable to obtain a retro authorization. It took 4 days for someone from the office to get back to me in regards to this. They think money grows on trees and they don't even submit it to insurance, they hold it until you deliver. Prepare to pay half of your deductible before delivering your bundle of joy. I recommend refuse ALL genetic labs prior to contacting your insurance. Dont let them reel you in. They do not offer you a regular lab draw... make sure you tell them that's what you want. I have been a client for 15 years and was reminded today of why I had moved to morning only appointments. After an hour and a half past my appointment time had passed with no courtesy mention of we are running behind, I started asking staff about my appointment. After a few inquiries, my unapologetic doctor finally appeared. No common courtesy. "Hey, we are really sorry." Actually, no apologies at all. This is not Covid related, this has happened several times before Covid. So, if you don't need to take off work to go to your appointment and half a day to spend there, go for it! read more

Pros: they accept all insurances, and have a large number of physicians and clinicians you can see. Cons: I have been going here for years and have never gotten in and out in under an hour, even though I only see the MD for 5 mins. They are always running behind. The office never codes anything correctly so I have paid a ton out of pocket for even basic annual checks. If I do have lab work done they quote me one thing and then send me a bill months later for a ton of additional "unknown" lab costs that are outrageous. I have good insurance too. Finally, you can't book appts online so have to call and go around in circles to find a date that works. Total nightmare. read more

My husband and I are pregnant with our first baby (yay!). We started the pregnancy with another doctor in the area and they seemed to use scare tactics to get us to pay for more services and come in more frequently. In their care, I had paid over $500 out of pocket in my 6th week of pregnancy! I was close to tears and so stressed out, when a friend recommended Dr. Clemons. We made our first appointment for July 6, 2015, and since that day everything has been completely wonderful! They are all very caring, from the front desk to the ultrasound technician to the doctors and the women who do the blood work. They have put our minds at ease, made us feel safe and respected and cared for, and really gone above and beyond to make this whole pregnancy a smooth ride! Recently, I had a scare and drove right to the office without an appointment. They were able to get me in for an ultrasound and have me meet with a doctor within 15 minutes of arriving! I really can't say enough about their high level of customer service and our wonderful experience so far! I really trust their team and am looking forward to the remainder of my pregnancy. I've had a mixed bag in terms of my experiences here. I love the fact that their South Tampa location is in the hospital and they have valet parking. Makes going to my appointment a little easier. The doctors are all great. They are informal, kind, and quick. I've had a few experiences of conflicting instructions, but I think you'll find that in a team of 6 or 7 doctors with different methodologies on pregnancy. My major gripe is that they don't have enough nurses on staff. I find that it's extremely difficult to get someone to call you back when you have a question or need a refill/ Rx unless you have an emergency that requires paging a doctor. Then they are extremely quick to respond, even if it's on a weekend. Other than that, you might as well go to the office and even then, they will probably take a message and get back to you in 48 hours. When you are going through a pregnancy, waiting 2 days for someone to call you back just doesn't give you a piece of mind in an already stressful process. I also echo other patients sentiments that when bloodwork is done, they rarely tell you what it is for or why you need it. Test results generally take 2 weeks too, and I've had experiences of waiting 3+ weeks to get prenatal refill when I'm in my first trimester. Not ideal. read more

Visited the South Tampa location (4150 North Armenia Ave Suite 200) and I could not be more pleased with my experience. I find that going to the OBGYN can feel like a vulnerable experience depending on how kind the staff is. Having moved from South Florida, I had an OB I loved but her staff made the experience challenging. It was my first appointment at Womens Care and I didn't realize that the doctor would be male. I let Michelle (medical assistant) know that I would be more comfortable with a female. She was happy to accommodate me and that's how I met Patti Moore. Michelle introduced me to Amy, and Amy took me to the appointment room where she did explained the gown process. It's those little things that make the world of a difference. I only waited a minute or two before Patti met with me. Patti is so patient, personable and kind. Needing blood work, Rosie was my phlebotomist. My vein was hard to puncture but she managed to be gentle and made the process a breeze. Lastly, Kristi checked me out and explained the next steps. My whole point is, there was no confusion through the process. Everyone made the experience a memorable and pleasant one. I am so happy to have found this practice! read more

Megan Flanagan, the APRN, is awesome! I felt very comfortable having her as my APRN. She took the time to answer all the questions I had and was explained everything in detail. I am giving this office one star because of their billing practices. My 20 year old daughter scheduled an appointment and asked up front what the cost of the visit would be. She explained that our insurance would not cover the cost of a visit or the procedure that she needed done because our deductible is so high. She was informed that it would be approximately $200. At the time of the visit she was asked for her insurance card and she again explained that she would be paying out of pocket. At the end of the visit she was charged $211. Roughly one month later I received an explanation of benefits from the insurance company denying all of the charges. A week later I received a bill from the office for an additional $318. Women's Care florida their billing dept is absolutely horrible. you can be on hold for a very long time and then someone picks up the phone and disconnects on you. I just received a bill from Dec 2020! Lou/Lu and Carol there are off no help what so ever to me! They just keep brushing me off telling me that Pam the Supervisor there will call me back and no one ever bothers. They specialize in surprise billing. No authorization was gathered before my surgery. I was admitted through the ER. Since then I have spoken to over 50 individuals there, their mail box is always full and right at 5 p.m. their lines shut off. I am still waiting for a response from their supervisor! M. Florence. I want to start by saying that this review is in no way a reflection of the care I received from the doctors. During my first pregnancy I met each doctor at the practice and was totally impressed every time. Dr. Clemons delivered my daughter and she was absolutely amazing. That being said I have given the practice a one star because the billing and administration is a mess and that is putting it lightly. While treating with Women's Care at Macdill not once did I receive a phone call prior to my appointment informing me of patient responsibility. It was always a gamble when I went in whether I would have any out of pocket responsibility. It is now a year after my daughter was born and I'm still trying to get answers on the billing from my prenatal care. I am now pregnant again and am being refused care due to a billing issue. It is understatement to say that I am disappointed in this office's handlings. Despite wanting to continue care with doctors I know and trust I must find a new office because of the complete lack of concern for the patient that the administration shows. The only reason I'm giving this practice a 3 and not lower rating is because if the phenomenal physicians that are truly kind and caring. I have been a patient for over a decade and have seen the office grow and evolve. The only consistency are the physicians (Dr. Amoroso, Dr. Gonzales and Dr. Mitchell) that take their time to listen to all of my concerns. The physicians i have seen over the decade are listed above. I recently had a myomectomy done and had a difficult time tying to get in contact with the office. The struggle didn't end there. After spending over half an hour multiple times, on multiple different days, attempting to schedule my surgery in November of 2021, I was resolved to having to walk in to speak with someone in person. After speaking to the lady at the front desk and expressing my frustration, I was told that someone named Veronica would reach out to me. In the following weeks I never got a call, text, email or voicemail however was told that she tried to reach out to me. When she finally called me (end of January 2022) she was unprofessional and kept saying we are understaffed. I never once received an apology or acknowledged for the delay in care. I was able to get my surgery scheduled the earliest was mid February. Surgery went well and am since recovered. I had my follow-up with Dr. Mitchell who I cannot say enough good things about. I am attempting to return to work now, and have again had the displeasure to have to work with the same individual (Veronica). She has been a thorn in my side and has made the already stressful process of having surgery that much more difficult and unpleasant. Essentially, she lacked compassion. While I understand staffing has been a difficult obstacle to overcome, coming from healthcare myself, I would never use that as a crutch for the lack of communication that was displayed. Additionally, this office should consider training other individuals who are able to maintain professionalism and having compassion to do that job. read more

This office has the best staff. I have tried a few doctors and finally found one I feel one hundred percent comfortable. The triage nurse is outstanding and extremely intelligent. She calls back same.day no.matter what time a message is left and she is comforting and supportive. The doctor and nurses are very nice and inviting as well but if you want good care that is personable and informative ..this location has the nurse that will give you that kind of care. read more

They also didn't send my birth control prescription to the pharmacy either so I had to wait a month to start taking them. I asked them to just hand me the prescription instead of calling them. I had been a patient of Dr. Von Thron for several years, when I had the misfortune of seeing him for my annual while sick with a cold. Little did I know that his offer of an antibiotic would result in the office billing me for 2 appointments (Well woman, which my insurance covered and one for being sick, which they didn't). Never did anything extra to merit a 2nd appointment, but then I got an additional bill. They were relentless, would not even discuss or compromise, threatening to send me to collections. I finally paid, but will NEVER go back, and highly advise women to find another doctor. He's just not worth it. read more

They never picked up the phone or call back when you have questions. They charge $300 upfront no matter what insurance do you have. They charge $25 per form when you need to apply for FMLA or STD.
