I have worked in, and have been a patient in other hospitals with fewer options and lower quality ingredients. Much of their food doesn't photograph well under the fluorescent lighting in the room, but the French toast in the picture was much better than it probably looks. Although our experience was mostly positive, I have to mention that my wife and I paid $40 for pizza and calzones from a local restaurant. We didn't each much and put the leftovers in the patient family fridge and appropriately, per their instructions. The next day, my wife didn't want lunch because we were going to eat our pizza and calzone, however, when we opened the fridge, it had all been thrown away, less that 12 hours after we put it in the fridge. My wife was pretty mad (never get between a woman that just gave birth and a meal), so she called dietary and confirmed that they had thrown out our food, despite the fact that it had been properly labeled and stored. Unfortunately, their solution was to give us a poorly constructed, low quality pizza from the cafeteria. It was in the aesthetic of a Chuck E Cheese pizza, assembled from asymmetrical slices that didn't come close to making it round. It had clearly been assembled with the oldest slices from their "pizza by the slice" station, in the hospital cafeteria.

We were told it would be a long wait so we waited, that's fine. We then got a text message confirmation 4 months later for an appointment in a few days, except we had never been contacted to set up an appointment. No phone calls. No texts. No emails. No snail mail. So we scrambled to shift our schedules to accommodate the appointment. Morning of, we arrive 30 minutes prior to the appointment to be told the doctor is actually out and they've been "calling" patients to reschedule and let them know. Unsurprisingly, we received no such call. So we took off work, drove 40 minutes, and paid for parking for what? Absolutely nothing. Now, I understand emergencies happen. That's fine. But a courtesy call just to say "hey maybe don't come here for absolutely no reason," would have been nice. They were able to call multiple times the day before to make sure we showed up early enough to the appointment. Would this have not been a good time to let us know not to come? And if they had just found out that morning, the first thing that should have been done was call the patients assigned to that doctor for the day. We were told we would get a call to reschedule. I seriously doubt that so what am I supposed to do, call them every day to make sure it gets rescheduled? I now have to call the morning of as well, if we ever actually get an appointment rescheduled, just to make sure that doctor is actually in. I just can't believe I have to treat a specialty medical center like a small child to ensure my husband gets care. If my husband has to have anything done, I will now feel like I have to check the work of the medical professionals we are supposed to be trusting. If they cannot handle something as simple as scheduling an appointment, how can I trust them with my husband's brain?

After 4 months of severe pain from sciatica in my right leg and foot, and a misdiagnosis and…read morephysical therapy, I sought out a second opinion. Found TN Brain and Spine on the Internet, took a chance and called them. I was able to see Dr. Joshua Miller, neurosurgeon, within 2 days. He immediately ordered an MRI on my lower back (which I was able to undergo the same day as initial appointment). Three days later I met with him to review the results- herniated lumber disk. I had day surgery 3 days later and for the first time in 4 months was pain free immediately. I had never had such efficient service from any healthcare entity in the past. Dr. Miller was amazing - very professional, yet very concerned. He really listened to the history of my 4 month odyssey and frustration, and went above and beyond to get me relief as soon as possible. His diagnosis was right on target. I have my life back. Additionally, the staff at TN Brain and Spine were awesome-efficient, friendly and caring! She had already gone through her PCP and neuro oncologist at Duke with an MRI not providing a clear cause for the pain. Norman proceeded to be the most dismissive and arrogant so called doctor she has ever dealt with. He told her that she doesn't have brain cancer at all and every bit of the chemo, radiation, and brain biopsy that has occurred over the last 8 years was for nothing. He made an absolute mockery of my mother's brain cancer journey along with providing absolutely no help regarding her chief complaint.

I had a surgery in October of 2022 at Tennessee Orthopedic Clinic (TOC). Five months post surgery…read moremy figure started to become disfigured, and today I can't even put my right hand into my pocket because the finger is bent/ disfigured. They have refused to see me, answer my emails, answer questions on my patient portal, or return calls. TOC's reason for not wanting to help? I owe them money. My insurance company paid $16,449.53, I paid $1,219.13 (10/20/22) before the surgery took place, and have made multiple smaller payments on the account since. I even went in and spoke to someone, offered to pay cash to have my finger looked at, and they declined to see me. Feel free to look at my other reviews. I HATE leaving a bad review for anyone. I have a right hand that's barely functional without an enormous amount of pain, and negative reports on my credit, all for a surgery that was suppose to fix my broken finger, not make it worse. The images of the bent finger are from 3.25.2024, and I cannot straighten it. Patient Portal picture is multiple emails sent with NO response. Pictures with stitches were post op.
