On the 3rd or 4th day of attending daycare our son didn't want to leave when we picked him up! That's the best vote of confidence we could hope for. He truly loves his time spent at Leila's house and we feel he is extremely safe and taken care of there, and we know he is loved too. From Leila preparing lunch for the children, to the holiday photo shoots we receive, to the photo and video updates of the children playing together, there are so many aspects we appreciate where Leila goes above and beyond. Leila is also quite flexible when we have needed to shift the times we bring our son to or from her home. We also appreciate that there are typically only 1-4 children being watched at a given time, something that we have come to appreciate vs. being at a big Montessori type daycare. Overall, I would highly recommend considering Maleya daycare if your young child is in need of daycare services. We feel so lucky we found Leila and her home.

However, fast forward to 6 months later, I think our child gets bored at home on the weekends sometimes and misses his daycare. Occasionally I will have a day off from work (I work full time), but if the daycare is open, I will drop him off so he can have fun and see his pals in daycare for at least part of the day. My son started at their home daycare as an infant. Not a day goes by without him smiling excitedly after Reena opens the door to welcome him. He has never cried once at drop off or pick up. Going to daycare is an absolute delight for him! He enjoys eating her yummy food (some of which are grown organically in her garden...we can't wait for him to try the passionfruit!). He likes interacting with familiar faces because the daycare is an intimate group of about 8 kids, and Reena teaches all of them to be kind and gentle with one another. He loves exploring the toys at her daycare and she provides him developmentally appropriate activities. Every day Reena provides an update about my child's activities including funny anecdotes about him and the other kids he interacts with, his meals/snacks, his naps, and his general mood. These updates end up being very funny and entertaining as not only do Reena and Don have a great sense of humor, but they also absolutely adore the silliness of the kids and find a way to recognize each of their individual personalities. Important tidbits: -Pick up and drop off is pretty quick and easy. Listed hours are 7am to 5:30pm. -This is a state licensed home daycare where CPR training, background checks, annual inspections, and etc are required of the daycare. -Full time enrollment is necessary. The benefit of this is that the number of kids is never over capacity. -Another reviewer astutely mentioned that the daycare takes a good number of holidays off. Reena is upfront about it and personally I think that the time-off is well-deserved because she puts so much energy and passion into the daycare. However, not every family can accommodate the holiday schedule. But if you can swing it, the daycare is worth it! -Homecooked meals and snacks are included and sound so yummy! -Unlike large childcare centers, there is no app to view your child's activities or photos/livestream video. But on the flip side, it feels very personal having a daily report at pick-up from Reena because she knows my child so well. -Communication has always been easy. My oldest daughter will be leaving TLC next month to attend elementary school and I will have one last child transitioning to Ms. Mitra's older group (4+). I could spend days writing about each lady and how amazing they have been with my daughters at every stage of their growth from infant (Ms. Swarna and Ms. Maryam) to toddler (Ms. Nina, Ms. Crystal, and Ms. Elizabeth). All of the ladies including others I have not mentioned have made my daughters feel loved and heard as opinionated toddlers now. Specifically though I want to highlight Ms. Mitra, my daughter Sofía has been with her for this past year and has grown immensely academically and socially. She is the much needed structure that older little kids need. Ms. Mitra has done an AMAZING job preparing my daughter for school. I felt like I could trust her with my babies immediately. Every day daycare is attended, they are sent home with a report of what they ate, when/ how often they were changed or went potty, when they took a nap and woke up, as well as any concerns or notes of anything they're running low on that you need to bring in (aka wipes, diapers, or formula- if used). Connie also always sends me a text if she has any concerns she thinks I should know about.
