Update review: 2.5 years attending. I have recently felt a need to write an updated review, especially as I see new families touring the school. My oldest daughter will be leaving TLC next month to attend elementary school and I will have one last child transitioning to Ms. Mitra's older group (4+). I could spend days writing about each lady and how amazing they have been with my daughters at every stage of their growth from infant (Ms. Swarna and Ms. Maryam) to toddler (Ms. Nina, Ms. Crystal, and Ms. Elizabeth). All of the ladies including others I have not mentioned have made my daughters feel loved and heard as opinionated toddlers now. Specifically though I want to highlight Ms. Mitra, my daughter Sofía has been with her for this past year and has grown immensely academically and socially. She is the much needed structure that older little kids need. Ms. Mitra has done an AMAZING job preparing my daughter for school. She has learned everything that she needs and more to excel in kindergarten. As a teacher myself I understand the work and countless hours that one spends at home preparing for her students. I know that Ms. Mitra puts in 120% into everything she does and teaches our children. I am beyond grateful for everyone at this school and can't imagine not having all of these great ladies supporting my children but they will have to grow and move on. For those considering this school, you cannot find anything better and most importantly piece of mind that your kids are well. read more

Really disappointed about the new workers they're hiring. My son was in the 1-2 year old class, they hired a new lady can't recall her name but she has brown hair, short & light colored skin. DISGUSTING attitude, I came to get my son and as he was in high chair needing help to get out she ignored him kept folding blankets until I had to ASK HER to help him, she did it with ofcource a NASTY GROSS ATTITUDE. Has me thinking how are you treating him when I'm not around??? My son use to be so happy to go to daycare!! Now he cry's every time we drop him off since this new lady is there. She definitely shouldn't be working with kids... Ms. Zakia the 2nd teacher in that class is the sweetest teacher that loved my son as her own! We've had Ms. Mitra care for my 4 yr old for 6 months, and she also took care of my now 6 yr old when he was the same age. Ms. Mitra is caring and loves her kids. Her curriculum (including homework) and awesome projects is helping my son prepare for TK. It also helps that Ms. Mitra has great command of the classroom, especially for our son who needs a lot of structure. We truly appreciate Ms. Mitra and the TLC Staff! read more

Highly recommend the Toddler Learning Center! The entire staff is extremely kind, friendly, and caring to the kids, from Ms. Zakia to Ms. Brenda to Ms. Amanda. Ms. Amanda in particular is just the hardest worker, wonderful with the kids, and easy and delightful to engage with. Love receiving all of the pictures and videos to see how the kids are doing throughout the day! Under the new direction of the fantastic Ms. Anna, the center has made so many improvements in the last year; free meals and snacks, epic birthday celebrations and other parties (summer water play party so fun!), well organized and adorable holiday performances, and generous updates to the building and classrooms including new furniture, toys, play structures, and cosmetic enhancements. I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing this school has been the last couple of years. Everyone from the owners of the school to all of the teachers our daughter has had, have been nothing but wonderful. Our daughter has excelled in her learning and social skills, and enjoys going to school to learn and play. Every single person I've come in contact with has been so kind and it makes me feel comfortable leaving my child with them. Our granddaughters are students at TLC. Ms. Mitra is one of the most, compassionate, dedicated, nurturing, kind, loving, patient and creativity teacher I've ever known. She's made a big difference in our children's learning experience because of her caring and supportive disposition. She makes learning fun for them and teaches them to be confident in themselves. Upon enter her classroom, there's a warm welcoming and positive environment. Ms. Mitra stays over helping Tokyo with homework while planning curriculum for her class. She's an educator that goes above and beyond. She make sure every special day for her students are celebrated and is a big support with Capri.. She is a team player. My 5 stars are 100% due to Ms. Swarna. She is the teacher for the in infant room. My son has been with her since he was 6 weeks old and he's going to be 1 years old old this week. He loves coming to day care. My sister has also had her kids here from infants to pre-k and we never had a bad experience. They use brightwheel for check in and check out, also to send messages and pictures. You can also pay through the app with debit/credit. We sent our son here from age 2 1/2 until he started TK. Our 3 year old daughter has been going here since she turned 2. The teachers are so patient and kind. Both of my kids love(d) going here. We are so lucky to have found this school. The teachers send pictures of your kids throughout the week and communicate weekly what will be taught and what the theme of the week is. Finding a daycare/preschool is very stressful. TLC made that process so easy. We have been sending our child to the infant room since he was 5 months old and Ms Swarna/Ms Valerie and the rest of the staff have taken such great care of him. They honestly treat him as their own son. They create such a loving and fun environment and I always know he is well taken care of - allowing me to have a stress free day at work. It takes a lot to allow someone else to take care of your child, but I don't think twice when he is at TLC. This day care is amazing! I am beyond happy and so grateful to find it! I would say it's a hidden gem. I've waited a long time to write this review, my daughter started going to TLC since she was 10 months, now she just moved to the 2 year toddler class. I couldn't thank the teachers enough, they go above and beyond everting they do. Mrs Praneetha and Miss Maryam were my daughter's main teachers, they're INCREDIBLE, very caring and loving and they consider every child as their own! So blessed and grateful to have them in our lives. Aliya loves them so much and she misses them a lot. She keeps saying their names at home. They take such a great care of the kids that all of them love them. I can see It when I pick up or drop off Aliya every day. Now that my daughter is 2year old. She adapted so quickly to Miss Alyssa and Miss Aki, they're doing such an amazing work with the 2's, very patient and caring. THaNK YOU. My daughter keeps learning and saying more words. Toddler Learning center is an magnificent place for children for have fun, learn, and make amazing friends and memories. M child has been here for 3yrs and she's progressed tremendously with the help of Ms. Amanda transitioning into Ms. Mitra's class. Both of these ladies are excellent with thr children. They have great patience, they listen to the parents and child's needs, they are very good at communicating with your child's progress, as well as communicating any concerns. I also love the time and creativity that Ms. Mitra puts into the learning of the alphabet, numbers, important events, just awesome crafting all while keeping the arts unique with individual personalities of the children. My daughter has been going to Toddler Learning Center for a few months now, when she was just shy of 6 months. My friend had told me to look for daycares while I was pregnant because it would be hard to get in when we really needed one so I did my research and thanks to Yelp found this one! We are so glad we did! Only 3 months pregnant, I messaged Lydia on Yelp and told her we would like to send our daughter to a daycare when she was 6 months. Lydia kindly responded that she would put her on their waitlist, which was a huge weight off my shoulders. And I have only great things to say about Lydia. From day one she has been a pleasure. Quick with replying and very communicative, kind, accommodating. When my daughter was about 3 months old we came to the center to meet with Lydia and see the facilities. One of the first things we noticed was how immaculate the place looked: organized and clean. Other daycares we toured were cluttered, dark, and not the cleanest. We saw the infant room and the toddler room and the backyard playground. Learned all about what is/isn't provided. Example, you have to provide food for your child every day (some daycare make their own food). We are totally fine sending food with our daughter so we know exactly what she is eating anyway. They have a Brightwheel app that lets you check your child in and out, allows chatting, media sharing and any schoolwide notifications. You have the option to pay weekly or monthly and the rates are very competitive with what's around. You need to provide proof of your child's vaccinations, another plus for us! So starting Sept we send our daughter to TLC, with plenty of diapers, wipes, milk, extra bottles and clothes. And while we are worried we don't know how she will be outside our home we didn't have to worry because Ms Swarna and the other caregivers are so good with her and the other kids. By the end of the week she would reach out to Ms Swarna and want her to hold her. That is always a good sign your child is happy! And upon check out we see kids who have graduated to the toddler room waving goodbye to Ms Swarna. You can really sense how much the kids love this caregiver!! Needless to say, we are still very happy with our decision to send our daughter to TLC and have recommended them to other friends who have kids 0-4. read more

My son started TLC in Feb 2019. He had only been cared for by his grandmother but quickly adapted to coming to school everyday. The teachers have always been exceptional from the start. Mrs Merle 2yr, then Mrs Hannah 3yr and now he has Ms Mitra at 4yrs old. And all have been so great. My son loves Ms Mitra very much. She is so loving and keeps these kids well behaved and busy. It gives me so much joy and peace to have a teacher that shows care and love to My son and all the kids. My son loves to go to school. He enjoys all the activities she makes for them. She is very informative on his behavior and she is easy to talk to. I am so happy with TLC because I know my son is happy here. All teachers know all the kids names and the kids all love to stop to say hello to Ms Swana in the baby room. Also the school is very clean. They are constantly cleaning. As of this post, my 4 year old son has been coming here for two years. TLC is a well-maintained, respectable, and friendly day care. The facility is a fairly spacious ranch-style home. There are two driveways to pull into TLC. It isn't so bad since alot of people come in to drop off/pick up at various hours of the day and, granted, some parents take the time to wait to pull up all the way to the front. The facility has separate areas by nursery, toddlers, and Pre-K. Staff is so welcoming and friendly. The other kids seem to respect each other. I do feel a sense of community with other parents. The director is Ms. Anjum, whom is great to work with. Very friendly. On another note, if your child is in pre-K, you can expect to have them bring the sandbox home with them. Some days, my son might as well just come without shoes. It's the same feeling when he has that much sand in them anyway. Ha! read more

Updated post: We moved to Indiana in 2017, We moved back from Indiana in March 2020, we had plans to start TLC but then COVID 19 happened. My newest little one started daycare at TLC in Late June 2020. He had never been away from me before, literally we were attached at the hip. I never felt comfortable with daycare until we moved back to California to be with Ms. Swarna. I felt comfortable knowing he was with Ms. Swarna. I chose TLC all because of Ms. Swarna. She truly cares for all the children and puts their best interests first. She made my little ones ease into life without me simple and easy! He used to not sleep and be so fussy, I am proud to say he is a new baby! He loves to eat, play, and finally sleep! I don't know how she does it, but Ms. Swarna is such a blessing to me, TLC, and all those who are blessed to have their babies with her. I am so relieved that she is a part of TLC. If you have an infant I strongly suggest checking out Ms. Swarna at TLC. Also, my sweet baby girl now attends TLC again. She attended 6weeks until we moved. Ms. Lydia was so kind to let her attend for the summer. She is in Miss Mitra's class and is adjusting well with the other children. She loves learning new things- especially the piano. She is being taught new things everyday. One thing I love is Ms. Mitra will make sure the work is at their level. She is friendly and loving. TLC is a learning environment for all. The social engagement is so important to their little minds right now. As far as COVID TLC is doing everything they can to prevent it. My child has been attending TLC for the past three years. From day one I know she has been loved and cared for--and through the years, Ms. Swarna has been a steadfast cheerleader for our kid, who knows how much Ms. Swarna loves her! Our kid was recently moved up to Ms. Mitra's class and she has been thriving with her as a teacher! We love how Ms. Mitra shares a ton of pictures through the day so we can not only see cute pics, but we can also see what our child is working on, learning, and how she's doing with other kids, especially as she makes this transition to the older class. Wanted to write this review as my youngest daughter is aging out of daycare. I've seen a lot of new babies and toddlers enter TLC and I wanted to share my experience and hopefully some sense of calm to those considering this daycare/school. First, let me start with my oldest. She began at the age of 2 and just recently graduated and is now at TK in a dual immersion program. At our parent-teacher meetings, I was told that she has been having a very easy transition into school. She knows structure, can follow routines, and already has a great ability to trace letters and work on projects. All of this is thanks to Ms. Mirtra! Currently, my youngest is in Ms. Mitra's and soon will be moving on to elementary too. She has learned a tremendous amount. She struggles with attention and slowing things down. Ms. Mitra has helped greatly with this. She has true patience, love, and dedication to her teaching to her students. She organizes parties, cooking classes, performances, almost weekly projects, science experiments, special guest visits (dentist, nurse, and other professionals), and probably more but I can't think of it right now. I appreciate all of her weekly lesson plans and how they are sent to parents in advance so that we can plan and support our kids in their learning. As a professional, I don't see much room for improvement. You can immediately see her years of experience when you walk in and see her successfully managing a class of 8ish 4-5 year-olds. We will greatly miss Ms. Mitra, but we know that any student in her class will be more than prepared to enter elementary school and will come from a warm and loving educational foundation. read more

My baby started here at 4 months. All I have to say is that I am very happy with the infant program Ms. Swarna goes about and beyond to take care of my little princess. Ms. Swarna's infant class at the Toddler Learning Center is a great place to have your little one go to daycare. I'm so glad my son got into her classroom. Ms. Swarna really looks after my son. She will notify me if he's not taking the bottle, if he's not eating at all or a particular food, if he seems constipated, or anything else that might be worrisome. He has had several ear infections, and one day my son didn't drink water or take the bottle at all, and she messaged me in the middle of the day that she was worried about him. I also don't know how she remembers all the times when every baby eats, sleeps, poops, etc. When I pick him up, she lets me know how his day was in detail, including how he played, if he took his shoes and socks off, etc. She is very caring and will play and sing to him. All the older kids want to say goodbye to her at the end of the day. I see the other teachers pass by, and they are all enthusiastic when they see the kids. I can not say enough good things about the Toddler Learning Center. My 6 month old has been attending for almost a month now and he and I both love it. Ms. Swarna (head of infants) loves my son as if he is her own. She is so loving and attentive to his needs. She's such a genuine person. I feel my baby is in amazing care. I will be sad when my son grows out of the infant room simply because he won't be under Ms. Swarna; however, all of the caretakers are wonderful! Having no family in the area and being our first born, finding childcare was a very daunting task. I found TLC and it was a blessing! Lydia (owner) is so sweet! She was there to greet us on my sons first day and reassured me everything was going to be fine. Plenty of hugs and tears to go around! The facility is very secured and maintained to the highest levels. Any 1st time parents that are looking for childcare should definitely reach out to Lydia. This morning I found this location online and since it's close to my house and had good reviews I decided to call and get some Info and schedule my tour. When I called in morning around 930 am this Indian lady picked up the phone and didn't sound like she knew English and when I tried to tell her I wanted some info she rudely told me call back later she doesn't have time to speak to me and she too busy to give me any info. I gave her benefit of doubt and figured she was alone, I decided to call back around 415 on during my lunch time and needless to say I wasn't successful again because a baby picked up the phone. I was having a hard time looking for an open daycare for a 6 month old towards the end of 2020 due to Covid, but TLC was welcoming with open arms from the initial walkthrough we did of the center to the first day I left my 6 month old son. Being a first time mom, it was very difficult to leave him with "strangers", but he quickly came to love Ms. Swarna. She is absolutely wonderful with the babies! My son is now 15 months and was recently transferred to the 'bigger kids' room and had a tough time adjusting there, being that he was used to the infant room and loves Ms. Swarna. Ms. Myryam made my son feel comfortable as he transferred to the other room fairly quickly! The staff is very easy to communicate with and very accessible via their app and phone. I receive random pictures/videos of my son, sometimes without asking, and it melts my heart to see how much fun he is having and how fast he is learning! Every week they learn new and different things and I am amazed at what my son shows me he learned with his actions! I cannot say enough great things about TLC and in particular Ms. Swarna. My son has been there for 5 months and smiles every morning when we pull up. He can't wait to get in to see Ms. Swarna and all of his friends. Ms. Swarna is truly an angel and we feel so lucky to have her caring for our son. My son made a connection with Ms. Swarna almost instantly. It is apparent as he reaches for her every morning and smiles at her as he says his goodbyes. My husband and I marvel at how Ms. Swarna is able to juggle everything with such grace. She is the most warm, loving and caring person. It is obvious how much she loves all of her "kids." Somehow she is able to care for multiple infants at once while providing them all with love and attention that they need. I love when she sends us pictures of our son during the day. I am not sure how she finds the time, but she does, and the gesture truly warms our heart and is very much appreciated. Even the kids that have graduated from her room all stop by in the morning and before the leave to say "hi" and "bye" to Ms. Swarna. It is absolutely precious. I would also like to say that all of the other teachers at TLC have been wonderful. My son also adores Ms. Crystal. Everyone I meet is so kind and upbeat and it is very clear they all love to be around children. It is also very easy to communicate with the staff through their convenient app. Again, I can't say enough great things about TLC. My son has been with Miss Swarna's class since he joined in early April. He loves being there and lights up when he sees her at drop off. Miss Swarna genuinely loves the children and sometimes I feel she looks after my son better than I do. I'm grateful I found this daycare for my infant son. I tested out a daycare before this one and every time I called to check on him, he was screaming and crying in the background. I switched him to this one based on the reviews and he seemed to be well taken care of by Ms. Swarna. I admire the care and love she shows toward my son and wish he can stay in her class as he grows. I also admire the care she shows overall toward all the kids. She's the first one there and the last to leave, handing out treats to all the babies as they leave. Her dedication is outstanding. There are some flaws, however; no daycare is perfect. Often times when I pick me son up, he is very thirsty, and snatches the water bottle from me as though he hasn't had water all day. Additionally, he is constantly developing diaper rash due to them not using the diaper rash ointment I have provided. The ointment was given to them when he first started at around 8 months old. He is now 15 months and they still haven't asked for a new one. We have went through many ointments at home since then. I understand there are many other kids to take care of. I just wish this issue was fixed. read more

He is currently in the 5 year old class, and Ms. Mitra is wonderful. She is very nurturing and more importantly patient with our son. He's made vast improvements in his speech and social skills. Every year when my child changes classrooms I update my review because I think it's so important to know how a school changes. This year I have two kids attending TLC. My youngest is in Ms. Swarna's class, she is the most caring, loving teacher, and she is so good with the infants. My son is now in Ms. Mitra's 4 year old class, (he has been at TLC since he was 9 months old) she is very hands on with learning. My son is well past the preschool learning tier, she puts all her energy into teaching the students, she has taught him patience and manners and challenges him to think outside the box.
