Wonderland Amusement Park is home to some fun and unique coasters. Chief among these is the Texas Tornado. As one of Hopkins's few roller coasters, this coaster has a relatively unique layout and elements. It starts out like most coasters, with a lift hill followed by a thrilling drop. Then it goes into a loop, but this loop ends halfway down and sends the riders into another hill before another exhilarating drop and a turn. Then you go into another loop before you speed through a tunnel and then are eventually taken back into the station. In addition to the Texas Tornado, Wonderland has several other unique coasters, some flat rides, some water rides for the hot Texas summer days, as well as a unique dark ride in Fantastic Journey. While this park will never be as large as a Six Flags, this is a great stop if you are heading through Amarillo on your way to Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or other cities in Texas. read more

My family and I went to this amusement park, we spent $45 pluse tax on souvenir cups. Three of them. We were refused ice and water on a 100 degrees day. They wanted us to pay $1.50 for tap water. Very bad busy. We would have stay a lot longer and bought food. But we were over heated and had to leave. Plus a ride broke while riding, and a lot of rides were closed. read more

Wallyworld type amusement park. Maybe great for locals. Many rides were closed die to waiting on parts. Our ticket came with a free soda but we only wanted a tap water. I'm going to start out by saying that we were provided free passes to Wonderland Amusement park. Looking at the cost of admission, I don't know if we would have visited the park. I believe the Ultimate pass was $34. We came with our 3 kids ages 5, 3, and 2. Our kiddos had a great time (but they also don't have many other amusement parks to compare this to). There were just a handful of little kid rides: cars, bumper cars, helicopters, boats, frog hopper and a carousel. My husband was able to take our 2 older children on a couple of the bigger rides. The park itself seems a bit run down. Some of the rides seem a bit sketchy. They appeared to be carnival rides that are being used as permanent rides. For instance, the carousel was missing 95% of the mirrors and of the ones there, they were all cracked. Some rides looked super old and I'll maintained. I personally wouldn't want my loved ones riding some of them. We didn't play any of the games BUT they too seemed a bit dated. There was a shooting game that was there that I remember from my childhood. It is the same one that is/was at Six Flags Darien Lake in New York. Food prices looked reasonable. We didn't get anything. Some of the staff/ride workers looked as though they didn't want to be there. Many of them looked like high school students. There was one in particular that was amazing. The way he interacted with the kids was mind blowing. I didn't catch his name. I watched him as he was working the kid bumper cars. He would run and fake scream as the kids tried to bump him. It was so cute. All in all, our kids had a great time. I think my husband secretly enjoyed the rides he "had to" take them on. I'm not into rides so I got to be the photographer. read more

i got dress coded. which is says no where online or in the park that you cant wear crop tops and tube tops. the only thing is says is no halter tops or swimsuits which i wasnt wearing. do not go here all the good rides are closed anyways and the employees for some reason will dress code you and make you buy a shirt.​​​​​​​ read more

We had fun. We were staying in Amarillo on our way back home from our road trip. It was my daughter's birthday so we decided to go. They were open from 7-10pm. We got there at 7pm but had to wait in line about 15-20 minutes to get our tickets. The kiddos (8 & 5 years old) road most of the children's rides from carousel, bumper cars, water raft ride, water boat and a few others. There were a lot of other rides for older youngsters and adults. Hubby & I just got spectator passes for $5 since we didn't plan to ride anything. Overall, they enjoyed themselves. Nice park. I just wish more people were wearing masks in the park. The workers had masks on but we were the only guests that I saw with masks on. read more

During our one day stop in Armarillo, we were looking for things to do. Found Wonderland online to help make time pass by. It's not your typical amusement park, but an okay one that has games, rides, and some food. I don't know what this place is usually like or how much has changed (based on other reviews), but from our experience, it did justice for us. They have Dip n Dots (a plus) and most rides working. We purchased the pass that grants unlimited rides and access to play mini golf, which is okay. Nothing fancy but with some architecture involving spinning wheels and tall buildings. Their roller coasters aren't too bad. Fun quick rush with some drops. Along with a pirate ship, and water rides that you may get wet from. With some rides not working, and I understand this place has been around for a while, but charging $45 for the unlimited is a bit steep. Perhaps $30 or $35, anywhere $39.99 and under. But for what it's worth, not bad. Along with some arcade and crane games. read more

Basic 50$ to get in- ok once in at least 3 rides not running. There's at least 3 other rides you have to pay extra to ride. Ok so paid the extra got to the ride and then they said they won't run it without at least 8 people even though we had 7. Waited for at least 30 minutes and no one showed up. Went down asked others that if I paid the extra 4 dollars per person if they would ride, so we could ride, found 2 people and when we got there they told we know they would not run the ride now unless the ride was full in each seat, very very Rudy. Ask the park for refund and they told me sorry that I could use the money on something else but would not refund it. read more

Oh, brother. I visited Wonderland on and off throughout my entire childhood and have the most amazing memories from there. I hadn't been back in 10 years, and am sad to say it's dilapidated and an eye sore. Sooo many things were not working or didn't have staff to run them: the train, skee ball, arcade games that ate money, the swings, the list goes on...too many to list!! This place needs a MAJOR facelift. A couple bright sides were the food (funnel cake is exactly the same!) and staff. The place is run by teenagers, but some had a smile on their face and were very nice. Thankfully, seniors (62+) get in free and my 3 year old seemed to have a fun time. Yet another disappointment. We had supported the school and bought some tickets for the summer. We had to force ourselves to go just so we wouldn't waste the tickets, wonderland did that waste for us. Half the rides were closed as usual, including the Train which has been down all summer. Only a few concession stands were open, the funnel cake one was closed. The coin machines eat your money and Paul Borchardt himself has said he doesn't care if the customers are disappointed, he's in it for the money...Clearly! This is a cute little amusement park. A lot of the reviews comment negatively on the price and condition of the park. I thought the entry fees were decent. Our toddler had a ton of fun on her rides, and there were several for her to enjoy alone. There were a few she could enjoy with an adult. My husband got a pass so we could ride those ones with her; and I got the spectator pass ($5). You have to remember this is a small park for a small city. It's not going to have the glitz and glam of the big fancy amusement parks, but for this city, I think it's pretty cool. We didn't eat anything here or play the games, so I can't comment on those aspects. If you're from out of town, a little visit here after dinner at the Big Texan is a solid plan! read more

One more thing I forgot to mention last time I was walking around there were lots of foreigners speaking foreign languages of all types. I didn't feel like I was even in the United States and one of them had their kid just urinating in the middle of the walkway spewing everywhere all over the walkway and the walls just right there open in public in the middle of everyone next to the ski lift ride entrance with people walking around everywhere. People do not want to have to walk through that just to get to the rides or any of the food stands. I told one of the staff about it, and they didn't even seem to care at all. We went there this past Sunday. Wanted something to do as a family. Let me say that I am not a big fan of Wonderland to start off with. Anyways, my oldest paid for all of us to get the WOW Pass with was about $162 for 5 people. As we get moving around, there were 8, yes, 8 rides that were not open. Whether they were down or just not open I don't know but either case, to pay full price for tickets and have that many rides unavailable is just stupid. I was very disappointed in our trip to Wonderland. I have not been there in several years but things have gone downhill since my last visit. There was a sign at the gate three rides weren't working. We had a small child so we were in the section most of the time. The helicopters were not working and neither was the train. These weren't posted at the gate and there certainly wasn't a discount on the price. There aren't a lot of rides for a small child and with two of them closed there wasn't a lot for her to do. We went to the concession, to get drinks, on that end of the park and we needed to pay with a WOW card. The kiosk to get that card was closed in that section and the closest one was at the other end of the park. I then was going to pay with a debit card and I was told the concession stand didn't have any ice!!!! We went to the next concession and paid $4 for a drink but with no lid or straw. At $4 a drink you would think you would be a lid and straw. I worked at Wonderland many years ago and I know Paul Rhoads would never had let his park get in this shape. read more

Run down for the prices they are charging. You shouldn't even have to pay for admission to get in with your kids. Many of the rides were down due to maintenance so that leaves pretty much nothing working. Young kids working don't even pay attention to what they are doing maintaining the rides. We took our family of 7 on Saturday 5/28/22. We paid full price for tickets which ended up being over $30 a person. There were 8 rides down. 2 of the 4 water rides were out of commission. Drop of fear and Intimidator still had tarps on them like they haven't even been set uo this year. As well as the swings still on ground not set up yet. After going to wonderland today, I was very disappointed. I use to go as a little girl, everything was painted, up to date, grass cut. There was employees with holes in their shirts, grass tall everywhere, water green and dirty. It really needs to be updated and a few rides fixed. Some of the seat belts don't even fit. Need to make them fit for bigger set people under the max weight. Also hear employees talk about not doing anything all day, just walk around. When there was trash on the ground, and tables needed to be cleaned. Another lady was complaining that she didn't even know her shift was over. Definitely need to educate employees to be professional, and to appreciate work. I'm okay paying the $26 just because it's the only thing to do in Amarillo, but with all the people you get a year, there should be a budget of improvement. read more

The price raise with zero improvements is super disappointing. A $15 spectator pass for everyone, including my 2 year old, is insane. We won't be back again simply because we can't afford to pay $15 plus rides each for a crappy amusement park. This place does not know how to run a business. With terrible management and awful owners. First let's start with the management. They are lazy and don't know how to help customers. When they are walking are the park they are always on there phones or talking together not paying any attention to the park. When an issue happens it takes them way to long to figure it out. All the rides don't really work and are mostly down and not working half the year. The owners don't care about there workers or workers safety they still make them work in 110 degree weather with little breaks. Me and my family will never go there again . read more

As long as you set your expectations correctly, this is a decent carnival-style amusement park. The best rides cost extra money. The entry fee is nearly the cost of a ticket at Six Flags (when you buy that with a discount). I like that there are no ridiculous wait lines. You can hop ride to ride and be done in about an hour. Visiting from out of town. Had a great time! All 4 kids really enjoyed themselves. Small amusement park, but plenty to do for a full day for kids of all ages. Reasonably priced admission & food/drinks. I also like how they stay open later. The arcades need a major upgrade though. The machines kept taking our coins, so we had to keep telling the staff, which takes everyone's time and the kids started getting bored & frustrated with the games because they kept malfunctioning. They also need MUCH better prizes & variety for the tickets. The arcade is our only real complaint. Sierra (hope I'm spelling her name correctly) who helped us with the issues in the arcade was very helpful & compensated us for our time and coins. It'd drive me nuts to have to deal with those machines- one after another not working- but she handled it very well. read more

I've been going here since I was a toddler. Wonderland holds many fantastic memories for me and every time I go I have so much fun. They have all kinds of rides and activities so there's something for everyone!! And you must get a funnel cake it's the law!! Still a good park after all these years. I used to come here when I was little and had so much fun. Now, I'm a little too old for the rides, but my daughter enjoyed the kiddie rides so much. The boats were here favorite. I was prepared to pay the regular fee as in any other park, but if you are not intending to ride any ride, you just pay a lower fee and can get in. Y'all want to charge six flags prices for a carnival park! At least at six flags you can ride all the rides for their price. Y'all still run a joke where you have to pay $4 EACH TIME you want to ride a common ride! There's nothing special about those rides! $27 for a weekend is a legit price... But don't be greedy and make people pay extra for the one good roller coaster!! Y'all have been greedy since I was a kid! Amarilloans can't even afford to go to wonderland bc it's a joke! This was a nice date night event. The lines were long to get into the park because we arrived as it was opening but the park did not feel crowded. We did a spectator pass because we didnt think we would do much of the smaller rides that are meant for kids. I think that the park offers rides for everyone and if one only loves big rollercoasters they even have one big one and a couple good size ones. Those will cost an extra 1.50-3.00 to ride. Next time I go I may get a unlimited bracelet and do all the spiny rides and enjoy funnel cake or cheese fries. read more

Had our family reunion at the park outside of wonderland. Was told we could have discounted tickets because of the number of people we had. That turned out to be false. I wanted to visit the park and my children. The sign clearly stated 5 dollar entry for spectator, however i was informed there were no spectators allowed after 7 because KFDA was running a special. I was staring right at a sign that said 5 dollars for spectators and it was 6:52. they said well the sign was wrong no spectators after 6;15. They just couldnt make me like the fact they wouldnt honor their signage or allow me in as a spectator, they even threatened us by bringing over a police officer who couldnt understand their position either. Not sure where they learned their customer service skills or advertising procedures but the owner Paul Borchart told me on the phone that he was in it to make money and didnt care if i didnt come back. Well i will honor his wishes. Can you imagine how their staff might handle an emergency or scare? think they might blame us, too? Get real guys, there are better and safer places to spend an evening with people who care and want your entertainment dollar and who are not subsidized to the point of lethargy by local tax payers. read more
