I have…read morejust visited shine and it was lovely to walk into a salon and everyone be really friendly and welcoming , the atmosphere was great and you dont normaly get that in salons, i was made to feel very comfortable . I had my hair done by lianne and she is excellent at re styling because if you had seen my hair before i went in lol . I just asked her what she thought and she re styled it just perfect just how i wanted it . The thing that i noticed the most is that she listened and checked with me all the time if i liked it . I felt realy confident that my hair was in her hands and i am very fussy ! . Also all the girls in there seem to get on really well fab team and i would highly reccomend shine to anyone . Oh and there is a added bonus of a beautician which was very busy so thats a good sign so ill be trying her next time i go . Im just updating my review as SHINE has relocated the the old town in the name of SOLEIL , i need to tell everyone as it would be a crying shame if people didnt know. Lianne has really grown and taken a further step forward in adding her services to a growing business . The salon consists of beauty treatments , spray tans, hot stone therapy, sun beds, now hairdressing by shine , and coming soon botox and fillers , and perminant make up tattoing , its all very exiting and the salon is so beatiful and welcoming. Had a hair appointment with lisa at cutters, after a good 15 minute phone consultation, lisa…read moreexplaining everuthing she could/could not do, telling best ways she would deal with it, she booked me in for the saturday a full day because of requirements, said she would like me there 9:30am till approx 3:00pm, then text me middle the week to confirm my appointment but changed the time to 10:00am, so i replied say definately would be there, for lisa to then text me again on that saturday morning cancelling my appointment, stating she was in hospital, & would get back to me sometime later that day to rearrange, waited few hours for the phone call, never received, so i decided to ring the salon, to send my get well wishes, & to pass message stating just to contact when all better, unfortunately it was lisa herself who answered the phone, so didnt get chance to give my wishes as realised that it seems i had been lied to, seemingly think she over booked & used a excuse, i then was on facebook later in the day & saw numerous posting from lisa of other peoples hair she had done that day, to say annoyed & angry that someone uses such a bad excuse to get out of a appointment is disgusting, but to never get the phone call still waiting for 2 weeks later, safe to say will not be recommending & a zero * rating from me

It's such an up-beat and friendly atmosphere and always buzzing with interesting, good looking professionals. You're welcomed with the most friendly staff when you enter, and if you're aware of Hull, it's a rare thing! And within seconds someone is there to take your coat, and offer you a drink. It's been my favorite place to go for a few years now to get my hair done. Highly recommended!

A very rare thing in Hairdressers I've found. I travel all the way from Grimsby and over the bridge to get there and it is worth every penny. I used to go to Toni and Guy in Grimsby but after a few disasters there, I went to Mark Hill's on recommendation. I received a very warm reception, all the staff are really polite, welcoming. I now even bring all my children to get their hair styled there. The cost is far cheaper than Toni and guy and Bobs in Grimsby. Mark Hill himself always says Hello to every customer, no matter how busy they are.
