This was NOT an enjoyable experience at all, I was not going to leave a review here, but since you…read morehave mentioned me in my wife's very honest review, I felt the need to respond. I am not willing to work with you, even though you inferred otherwise. As someone who deals with contractors daily, I can honestly say this was the worst construction project i have ever dealt with. In your response, you tried to minimize things. The entire project consisted of mistakes, delays and errors. Even your subcontractors were in shock with how terrible you guys were. They complained daily to us when they were in our home. Your statement "And although this branding is quite common as we demonstrated in court for both stock and custom cabinets, the judge allowed you to not pay your final bills" shows how ridiculous you are. If you had demonstrated it, you would have won. The judge agreed with us in court because you failed to prove this actually common. We would have happily paid our final bill if you would have completed the work in alignment with your contract. The reason one holds final payment back in construction is to incentivize contractors to complete the job properly. The judge didnt "allow" us to not pay our final bill, the judge punished you for doing a bad job and ruled in our favor for $7,000. Your statement: "Your renovations are complete, beautiful and functional." --They are now, after we have had to finish the project ourselves and use another contractor. "Your main concern was not function, quality or even beauty, but worrying that someone will think you in your words "cheaped out" and that is the root of this review." While the judge called your logo "obnoxious," that isn't our concern or focus here. The 3 months of trauma with the multiple mistakes and delays, and your incompetence, is the root of this review. "You selected us because you were referred by a happy customer and received a sizable discount as well." --All you did for the other customer was new countertops and paint some cabinets. We should have went with someone who has experience with larger projects because we quickly learned that this was your largest project and you did not have the experience needed. A credit of $1,000 is not significant on a $80,000 project. "Throughout the projects you obtained free work by requesting it directly to contractors or employees who thought you'd pay them outright or you demanded we pay for work not authorized through written consent. We ended up paying those bills to ensure those hardworking men who did the work, got paid. --We never asked your contractors to do any work in your scope. When they came to us, i told them to talk to you. That is a flat out lie and you know it. Your sub did one project for us and we came to you to ask if it was OK for them to do the work. You agreed and that is it. It was a $500 drywall project for the living room. We refused to pay for the wall that covered up the 1 inch gap in our kitchen wall that you screwed up and expected us to pay for. So, yes, you should have paid for that work. I could go on and on about the mistakes that were made. Your response is full of lies and people need to know. You had multiple chances to address the mistakes throughout the project and didn't. Even after finding out that you brought a registered sex offender into our home with young children. Yes, we were very fond of him, which makes it even more devastating. It is laughable that you won't even take responsible for that, saying he never told you like he should have. As a business, it is your responsibility to do background checks, and your contracts state that your subcontractors are fully vetted. Additionally, we did not reach out to him on multiple occasions asking him to do work. That is a complete lie. You continue to show your incompetence and ignorance by your response. The experience was terrible, and I genuinely hope that others can avoid a similar experience. #KitchenBlowUp

First, I should start off by stating that we just completed an almost 2 year home remodel. We…read morehired 9 contractors to complete various projects throughout the house. 7 out of 9 completed the work as contracted, and took pride in their work. We are so grateful and have recommended them on multiple occasions to friends. Our pool contractor who remodeled our backyard had a rough go at it with his subcontractors, the experience was terrible, but he acknowledged the mistakes, did everything he could to make it right and he ultimately completed the job, and therefore we would never leave him a bad review. This is actually my first bad review on any contractor; I am writing this, not out of spite, but because I genuinely want to help others avoid feeling the way that we did during the 3 months they were in our home, and for the 10 months we spent in a court battle where we sued Lori and Corby for breach of contract. If I could give zero stars, I would. Hiring Lory and Corby Walker (Kitchen Tune Up Grapevine) for our kitchen remodel was the biggest mistake we've ever made. From start to (a very delayed and disastrous) finish, this contractor demonstrated nothing but incompetence, and complete disregard for quality and customer satisfaction. Despite the terrible experience, we just wanted the project completed so that we could move on. We were willing to look past the terrible experience, as long as they completed the work according to the contract. Instead, they refused to resolve the issues, after multiple requests and demand letters. We had no choice but to file a lawsuit. The court ruled in our favor; this says everything you need to know. They actually asked the judge if he would put in the judgement a ban on allowing us to leave a review. KTU should have thought of that when I begged and pleaded with them to make our project right. We did not want to go to court; we just wanted our kitchen completed according to the contract, so that we could move on. We thought we would be protected by hiring an established "company." They are a franchise and have locations across the US. The national cover under the Kitchen Tune Up name, actually doesn't provide any cover at all. We contacted the Kitchen Tune Up corporate office to help resolve our issues, and they refused to help. They responded that we entered into an contract with an independently, locally owned company and any claims that we had, needed to be directed toward them. Please be aware that you are not getting the backing of a 35+ year old company with franchises across the US. You are entering into a contract with a previous accountant and IT employee, with very little experience in construction. I have talked to other customers who ended up in court and/or disputes with Kitchen Tune Up franchises as well; most signed an NDA where they are not able to talk about their experiences, which explains why you see only the positive reviews on here. I could share the details of our horrible experience that consisted of multiple mistakes, delays, and excuses, but realize that they will only respond with lies, trying to make us appear as an unreasonable customer (similar to what they did to another person who left a negative review.) But 2 facts that can't be debated exist. We sued them for breach of contract and won. And they brought a registered sex offender (charge is related to children) into our home without informing us. This was not only a violation of our trust but also a serious safety concern, especially since we have young children at home; I still get sick when I think about it. This subcontractor did 90% of the work, and was in our home for the entirety of the 3 month project. I can't imagine any mother would be OK with that, and people should be aware of the type of company they are dealing with. Save yourself the headache, money, and time. Do NOT hire Kitchen Tune Up - Grapevine TX. Our kitchen is a constant reminder of this horrible experience, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Shower, tub, floors, tile, lighting, electrical, tile, fans/vents, painting and more. I give them my highest recommendation. See before and after photos. Excellent communication, beginning with their response to my initial request for information and throughout the whole project. The project manager and even the owner were available to respond to questions seven days a week. At the end of every day they provided a progress report along with what to expect the following day. They made regular visits to my house to inspect the work in progress. Even after completion of the project they stayed in touch to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. All the workers were courteous and professional. Each day they carefully cleaned the work and adjacent areas. At the end of the project a housecleaning service thoroughly cleaned and touched up. It amazes me how other companies and individuals didn't respond to my inquiries or ghosted me after promising to provide a quote. Importantly, ICO is local with brick and mortar offices in the metroplex. I would be leery of all those virtual companies who devote most of their resources to sales and marketing and then sub the work to random contractors.

I was in the market for a contactor and actually narrowed down who I was going to use however I saw the pictures online of Pepe's work and immediately had to reach out prior to him even starting on my neighbors house (his work is THAT good!!) I sent an inquiry and Pepe came out and evaluated our master bathroom and I knew immediately he was the one to do the job. Pepe has such a creative mind and will go above and beyond to make sure he provides you quality work without breaking the bank. This was my first reno so I was anxious and nervous but I knew I was in good hands. I was having a hard time narrowing down tile for our shower and Pepe helped me see the bathroom I envisioned by taking me and my husband to a showroom and seeing different tiles he had in mind for our bathroom. I was SOLD! Throughout the entire process Pepe was very responsive via text message, FaceTime and phone calls. I truly believe I have not only gained a contractor whom I want my entire house to be reno-ed by, but also a friend. Pepe takes pride in his work and will make sure to deliver results that his customers are happy with. I cannot recommend Pepe enough and the quality of his work in his pictures does not do enough justice. Thank you Pepe and team for going above and beyond and giving us the dream bathroom beyond our imagination!

Since the floor tile was cracking and coming up, I contacted several remodelers (10+) and everyone had an opinion on what was happening and most tried to scare me into booking on the spot. The problem was that most of them were disrespectful, either calling me honey or sweetheart, talked down to me, or just never provided a quote. One had the nerve to tell me they wouldn't meet with me unless my husband was there. Well, I'm not married. So... Anyway, Matthew was delightful. He spoke to me like I was a human being, answered my questions and was always good at communicating next steps in the process. And since the problem wasn't as bad as anticipated he even called to offer me a small refund on the work they didn't have to do. I instead tipped the tile guy with it. Now, I would be lying if I said we didn't hit a snag. There was a significant leak after the completion of the project and Matthew had the tile crew and the shower door guys out to take care of it. This right here is the reason they deserve all 5 stars. I felt heard, was taken care of and I came out the other side ecstatic.

Also, their statement "We will do everything we can to meet your expectations" is completely incorrect. They would not progress the project further until the previous work that was completed was corrected. I can't speak for any of their other service crews for flooring and tiling but I would be worried about their GC doing your job. The customer shouldn't have to GC the GC they hired. Hire at your own risk.
