There are plenty of scenic spots along the way to stop, take it in, and just enjoy being outside. It was nice seeing so many other people out walking and enjoying the space as well. The environment felt very clean, safe, and welcoming. It's also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus if you like bringing your pups along for the day. There are a couple of bathrooms conveniently located along the path, and parking is flexible - you can either find street parking or pay to park inside the park. If you're looking for something more active, they also offer kayak rentals. From what I saw, it's around $25 for a single kayak for an hour, and tandem options are available as well. You can check availability and book online. Overall, this is such a great spot to unwind, get some fresh air, and reconnect with nature. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

1 Star -- Very Disappointing Experience…read more This was my first time visiting this park, and unfortunately, it will probably be my last. I rented two paddle boats at 2:30 PM and specifically told the employee that I wanted them for three hours. He took my payment, gave me the paddle boats, and never once told me that they had to be returned by 5:00 PM. I also did not see any clearly posted sign at the rental area explaining the closing time or the required return time. At 5:00 PM, I received a phone call asking where I was. I told them I was on my way back. When I arrived, I was told that I was late and would have to pay a $50 late fee. I explained that I rented the boats at 2:30 PM and asked for three hours. The manager eventually realized that 2:30 PM + three hours = 5:30 PM. Instead of simply acknowledging that there had been a misunderstanding and that the employee should have explained the return time, he told me he would split the charge because his employee would have to stay overtime. I ended up paying $29.50. What bothered me the most was the manager's attitude and lack of professionalism. I was upset, but I was not being disrespectful. He accused me of being hostile toward the register employee, which was not true. Rather than calmly listening to my concern and explaining the policy, he spoke to me in a rude manner in front of other people. I was also told that I should have read the waiver. I explained that I understood the waiver to be related to safety and liability. If an important rule is that boats must be returned by 5:00 PM, especially when someone is specifically requesting a three-hour rental at 2:30 PM, that information should be clearly communicated before taking the customer's money. This entire situation could have been avoided with one simple sentence from the employee: "Just so you know, we close at 5:00 PM, so the three-hour rental would need to end at 5:00." I have no problem following rules when they are clearly explained. What I have a problem with is being charged a late fee for something I was never told, and then being treated disrespectfully when I questioned the charge. Management should seriously consider clearly posting the rental return times and closing hours and training employees to communicate those rules to customers before completing a rental. I hope the park takes this feedback seriously because no customer should leave feeling embarrassed, disrespected, or taken advantage of because of a misunderstanding that could have easily been prevented.

I believe we would have gotten our boats limit, but there were a few kids enjoying the experience and were not paying too much attention to their poles, but that's OK. Few missed opportunities, but that's fishing. I know numbers can impact the reputation of the boat without really knowing the context. I will look exclusively to make a trip with Diamond or Lady K. Other boats that I have been on had arrogant deck hands and not so friendly captains.

The great thing about DSF is that they provide all the gear necessary for your catch. We were going out for Tuna as Bluefin are now found in the waters off the west coast, we were all pretty excited to go fishing. All we brought with us was food and drinks, having everything else included was a bonus. In the event we caught anything, they'll cut, clean, gill and give us fillets. The boat ride was awesome, no one got seasick thank goodness, there's ample seating inside and out. It was super foggy in the early morning, but cleared up by the time we started. I've not been on a fishing boat prior to this trip, and I was blown away at how scenic and beautiful the water was out there. The bright sunshine gave the water a super bright blue appearance, it was cool. Captain Kyle and his deckhand got everyone rigged up and ready to fish. The Captain is youthful and took his time answering questions and giving advice. His mixture of humor and knowledge of where the fish were was certainly a bonus because as soon as lines were in the water we heard, " Fish On!" That first Tuna took everyone on board including my son Parker to reel it in ( Posted Picture). What a freaking rush. It was exciting watching as everyone reeled something in on the boat. We laughed, joked and had such a fun day out on the water with friends. On our way back in to harbor the Captain pointed out several whale pods swimming around the boat, it was a trip seeing them jump. We enjoyed our lunch and talked about who caught the biggest tuna. In all honesty, that first one was the biggest in my book. I can't say enough great things about Captain Kyle and his Diamond Sport Fishing. Reservations were easy as charters go out practically daily either 1/2 or full days. The waters off of California are changing, getting warmer, they're seeing Bluefin Tuna and Marlin so who knows, maybe our next trip we'll catch something epic! Overall Impression: A+

I usually go in the evening to watch them return. I suspect that a stop at daybreak might be a better time to view the birds. Their takeoffs are more interesting than their landings. If you go also look in the ditch that runs beside the road there is a lot of interesting birds eating and fighting. There is really no place to park on the road, I just stop even if it is on the wrong side so I can photograph them. On the weekends the road doesn't have much traffic; on weekdays it is a farm road and there is more traffic. I wanted to take a tour but they are all booked through January. I thought I would just join in the auto caravan but worried that the Department of Fish and Game would figure out there was one too many cars.

We couldn't go on the free Wildlife Crane tour as it was booked solid. So we went to the South Reserve, where you can see the cranes returning in the evening from the viewing area next to the road. It turns out the Reserve had cancelled the tour due to the unhealthy air quality. But the docent Mike, and photographer Shaun, had come out anyway, in case any of the tour participants had not seen the cancellation notification. So Mike and Shaun gave us the 'tour' right there at the South viewing area! They were very knowledgeable and helpful. It was evident they enjoyed sharing their knowledge of the cranes and the multitudes of other birds on display. The cranes began returning about a half hour before sunset. It was well worth the visit. We are looking forward to bringing others to see the display of these fascinating birds. Mike tells us that October and November are the best months to see them here before the rains make other areas into the shallow wetlands the birds prefer, resulting in fewer birds staying at the Reserve.

These two outstanding employees went above and beyond to make sure my shopping experience was enjoyable. Dicks did have a size 8 Hoka for my wife's birthday but I was also looking to purchase a size 8.5 for our daughter for her birthday, unfortunately this Dicks sporting goods store does not have a big selection of Hoka shoes for women, I'm surprised, but it was Leena to the rescue and we went online and ordered the perfect shoe for our daughter's birthday! Yea ! I'm going to be the greatest dad ever now! I purchased the Wilson NBA DRV Plus Official Basketball (Size: 7), which was priced at $25.97. Upon arrival, I utilized the curbside service and parked in stall #1. I checked in via email and was brought out the basketball in less than 5 minutes. I was highly impressed by the swift service. The quality of the basketball was spectacular. It was filled properly with the correct amount of air. It dribbled so nicely on the basketball court within my neighborhood. I highly recommend stopping by Dick's Sporting Goods, especially to use the curbside service when it's convenient.
