Well folks, I'm back again, thought it 's about time to update my review…read more As usual and repeating what I have said in my earlier reviews. The Coffee Club is still keeping up the quality that it always gives. Although now it's under new management . I will have to elaborate on that at a later date. The Coffee Club still retains that friendly at home atmosphere. Great coffee and teas . Although the Old coffee has gone the replacement is a strong refreshing brand. I like it very much so it's a treat for me. I must stop reading my gadgets when I sit down and drink a full mug enjoying every sip. I'm not a big eater when out , but I must try more of the food and give you reviews on that. Mind you I have only ever seen empty plates going back. I must admit it always looks delicious and very tempting as it passed by me, and very often I nearly buckle to buy some. The Management and Staff are still just as friendly and helpful as ever , and a smile goes a long way with customers. A pity a lot of businesses don't understand that principle. I noticed that there was a review about the buying of food items from another small business, so off I went to get Info on that for you all. Speaking to staff , some small items are purchased from other small shops as is in many establishments.. This is mainly due to the fact that small business's in the area are trying to support each-other through these difficult times . Having been an Executive Chef myself over 30 years I know this doesn't give as good a profit margin as it would using a Catering wholesaler. So I have admiration for these small places doing their best to keep each-other in business. So folks lets use and support those that do their best to serve us as long as they can. Now after all of that I really could do with nipping to The Coffee Club for a coffee and who knows you may just catch me in there having that coffee. So pop in and enjoy the experience. And say hi.

One thing I've found to be common in Costa, no matter the location and does seem to be common here is the slow service and the staff not seeming to care, and that is shown here. It is also pretty small for a Costa location too, so regularly (at least before lockdowns/COVID) it did become rather busy, I do think this is down to a lack of similar options nearby within Chorley town centre to have a coffee, rather than this being somewhere good, with no other major coffee chains nearby, the nearest Starbucks is over two miles away in a motorway services, meaning you can't access it via public transportation. 2* - Seems to benefit from being one of the few coffee shops in town, slow service in a small, dated location, the extra star is mainly for location and the fact it's one of the few coffee-shops in Chorley town centre, and few people would want to sit inside McDonald's with a coffee, at least here there's a slight chance (at least more than McDonald's) of being able to sit and potentially get work done.

When asked if they had fresh ground coffee he wasnt sure, thought it may be Instant. Eventually he went to ask one man situated out back. Yes we only do instant coffee. Well that lost this customer even before I started. The price of coffee machines these days they could buy a small one. No ambient music, no smiling staff, no atmosphere. So folks sorry I can't review any further as to the food or the Instant coffee. Maybe I may just venture in one day , to do just that , but don't hold your breath.

Not sure what's happened up here, maybe the contract's been taken over by another catering firm, but once upon a time, this humble supermarket cafe served up cracking cooked breakfasts, cooked on demand to your exact request. Please, Formerly Fantastic Chorley Morrisons Cafe! Don't go the sloppy way of your Wigan/Kirkham branches! xx

We ordered a pot of tea to share. The pot came with a crocheted pot holder with a sunflower on top. So cute!!! A pot gave us about 4-5 cups of tea. We both decided to order the 8 items off the breakfast menu (until 2pm), which consisted of a hash brown, egg, sausage, bacon, beans, black pudding, mushrooms, and tomatoes. You can also choose to order 5 of the 8 items instead, but we wanted a Full English breakfast. We got there a little after 2pm but because the grill was still on, they were nice enough to allow us to order breakfast. Everything was delicious and made just right!!! All the flavors blended together did not overwhelm the dish either. The hash brown was one of the best I've ever eaten. The black pudding was somewhat crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I've had black pudding before that was overcooked than it should have been and was hard inside and out so this was different. We wanted to try the sticky ginger cake and scones but were so full at the end, we could not!!! We did come back at the end of our trip to try the cake and scones, as well as to have another Full English breakfast of course!! The Full English breakfast was consistent and still one of the best I've had!!! They warmed our sticky ginger cake, which made it warm and moist but possibly less sticky. No problem there!!! Every bit still delicious and flavorful!! Just the perfect amount of spice! We loved it!!! However, this piece of cake does get sickening the more you eat. The scone was huge! Sliced in the middle with cream and jam, it is a sure win next to my favorite at the Rivington Barn (though to be honest, I've not eaten many scones). I would definitely come back whenever I'm in Horwich!!! It is not expensive either, which is a plus!! Both times, it costs less than £17.

Pro's - Looks better on counter, and will make Cosco Coffee drinkers happy. Con's - Gone is the choice of mild/med/strong, not self service. Not my cup of tea.... sorry about bad pun on coffee . Costco's always been too strong for me Usually only one person serving as well as payout till, with this machine it does hold up the customers. I was second in line ,actually only two of in the line and it took around 6 or so minutes before I got to even order my coffee, so watch out for very busy days. Counter assistant did tell me customers had asked for old machine back No Wi-Fi and your internet connection drops as soon as you enter the door of the Store. My son accidentally broke a money box, which was at a three year old's height. No signs were up to say that items needed paying for if accidentally broken. I spoke to the owner saying that he had broken something and that it was close to the edge when it fell off. I was very apologetic about the matter and honest. However the owner ( a man) was aggressive and said that I needed to pay the full retail cost for the item before leaving. As he was so intimating and overpowering saying that I couldn't leave without paying the full retail price and wouldn't accept the cost price (which is against consumer law). I was so scared and upset by this, and had to pay nearly £40 for an afternoon tea for one adult and two children. A really wouldn't buy or go to this cafe again.

The layout is pretty unique, with the food preparation area in the centre of the unit, and seating at the front and back of the shop. You can order at the counter, or use the QR code at the table (it took us a moment to find our table number though - they're painted on the vases in case you can't find yours!). You can also pay using Apple Pay using this method, so very easy and contactless. Our drinks were superb - a fantastic latte and a really nicely prepared and presented jasmine tea. Food was a little bit less exciting - we ordered the chicken katsu sandwich and whilst it was a nice we were a bit disappointed that it was stone cold, as if the filling had come straight from a very cold fridge. It was fine, and the portion size was great - but just not quite as good as we'd hoped. Would happily come back here though.

The pastry selection is probably one of the best in a chain, with authentic handmade pastes with a whole selection of flavours. I've had them here a few times and have been impressed by the taste and skill but perhaps they've been under hot lights for too long... Coffee is what brings me here, though, and the vintage/retro vibe, as seen in other Tinderbox locations -- an example of what I call corporate quirkiness -- makes this a place that's a god choice for meeting friends and impressing visitors. Not an independent coffee place by any means, it's a leisurely part of a chain, this time in Paperchase, so you can surround yourself and fill yourself with lovely pretty things.

Pot Kettle Black used to be our favourite until they started doing table service only; then we switched to Tinderbox in Paperchase. After today, I think we'll probably switch to Michaels. It's only a small unit, and the entrance is the arcade underneath the Royal Exchange theatre. The cafe is the end unit on the Cross Street side. It's all decorated very nicely - clean and bright with nice geometric pattern tiles, stools and lighting. It's a little like the Foundation Coffee House, but much more intimate. According to their website the cafe was founded by two cousins, and from the second we stepped through the door we were greeted like old friends. Hugely welcoming staff - we also saw them going out of the way for people, moving furniture for older customers and such. There's a cracking selection of things on offer despite the small size of the unit. A chiller contains sandwiches, and there are also a couple of sandwiches of the day on offer. There were also two varieties of soup, plus plenty of pastries and sweet treats. We both had coffees and soups, and were impressed by both. Without a huge amount of seating, this place is probably aimed more at the take out market but whatever you're looking for it's well worth a stop.

I went for when it opened so I was the first one in and I had a great chat with one of the staff about dragonball z as I was wearing a shirt of it. Inside it looked immaculate, very trendy and a place I would love to go to, time and time again. It was a large space too and they had their own merchandise in there which I will buy one day and a full cabinet of delicious looking treats .. all handmade and not the usual manufactured items. I went for a donut and a flat white and they were both amazing. As I was on a coffee tour, I took it all out and had it whilst sat next to the canal ... perfect view for a perfect coffee. I couldn't recommend this place more and I count the days until I can return.

Go in through the main entrance, past reception and the cafe is on the far right. In side it's dimly lit but cosy with lots of exposed wood. Great coffee, great cakes and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Every time we've been here it's always pleasantly busy but not overcrowded. There's plenty of seating inside at tables and long benches, or you can head into the "outside" seating area, which is actually indoors but under glass and so protected from the weather. They also roast their own coffee so you can pick up a bag to go.

The chips had the taste of homemade but i was not impressed that although there was a nice garnish presentation it was completely ruined by a sachet of tartare sauce on the plate, I would prefer condiments to be an optional extra on the table not on the plate. Overall a nice place to eat.

All the food was so good .. the pastry felt and tasted freshly and home made as I think it was whole meal flour which was nice and a change .. the blueberry jam inside was epic .. the coffee was brilliant and the eggs perfectly cooked and sourdough not overly toasted (which I can't seem to master at home) .. the only thing I would say bad was, with getting poached eggs, it felt like not a lot .. 2 eggs on a large slice of.. looked and felt like something was missing. This coffee is about taste rather than kick. Like most independent coffee houses, the prices are pretty high. The reason to be here is to enjoy a great coffee and hang out with friends, it's got a decent vibe and the staff are helpful. Good place to pick up some coffee for your home machine to boot :)

I walked into the little cafe, which was bright and fresh on a lovely sunny day, and was warmly greeted and given a big beaming smile by Tracy, the chocolatier and owner. I looked at the food and drinks menu, and the specials menu which offered summer drinks. As a tea lover, I was really impressed at the tea menu, which had a good variety of loose leaf teas to enjoy, from your standard English Breakfast to Darjeeling and beyond. I chose an Earl Grey with cornflour, which was very refreshing and tasty... but as I was sipping it, I spotted rose and bergamot black tea on the shelf... I'll definitely be trying that next time! The tea was excellent quality and even came with suggested timers for brewing times. I've not seen this quality or variety of tea offered outside of Manchester City Centre's tea rooms, but most definitely not for Manchester's prices! The venue itself has a fabulously semi-modern design to it, with beautiful big 70s style geometrics on the walls and crockery, bright colours, and fun little signs. For a small (4 table) cafe, it didn't feel too small! They also sells their own chocolates, little gifts, and greetings cards, which are placed around the edges of the main dining area to catch your eye as you make inappropriate noises of appreciation about your chocolate fondue. From the tasty and tempting food menu I chose a classic ham and cheese toastie, and as well as being offered my choice of bread, and whether I'd like fresh coleslaw or onion chutney, it also came with some crisps and a fresh side salad. I was even asked if I'd like dressing for said salad. I was starting to like this place, they had everything, and after I found out they also took cards as payment, AND had free wi-fi? Definitely a quick way into my good-books even before I've eaten! My ham and cheese toastie was lovely and fresh, and very tasty, especially considering it was very good value considering the quality offered. This is the quality of a city centre venue but at prices reflecting the area. Westhoughton, you're very lucky to have them! At this point I realised that it would surely be a crime to come to a chocolate specialist and not partake, especially given that the quality of the food was so good! Tracy gave me a run-down of what cakes and bakes were on offer (and they all sounded incredible!), as well as which chocolates were available, which you could purchase for a price per individual chocolate, which is a genius idea! I went for Turkish Delight, Limoncello, Salted Caramel and Passionfruit, which Tracy picked out of the display case using a special chocolate-handling glove! Very swish! They were given to me in a cute little teacup, and as you can imagine, they were absolutely sublime! I will most definitely be returning here, not just due to it being close to where I live, not just because the chocolates are lovely and I want more and know I can get them boxed up for gifts, not just because there's lots of other tasty chocolate gifts, not just because of the tasty food and the tea range which I definitely want to try more of, not just because of the friendly and happy customers and staff who gave the place a lovely atmosphere, nor the customer who highly recommended the chocolate fondue, and not just because of the idea of their afternoon teas... ...wait where was I? ...oh yes! I have to come back, because I've been told great things about their hot chocolate... the other things just happen to be a nice side-point! ;) Go along. You'll love it.
