I've always been an involved parent at any school my children have attended. At this school I felt parents and students are truly cared about. Plenty of extra-curricular activities and kids are motivated and challenged in all subjects offered. My kids' experience with staff, before and during covid19 is a very positive one. All staff went above and beyond to make De Anza Middle school the best experience for my kids. (One of my kids promoted last year, the other will promote from here next month).

This new principal is making the school unbearable. My daughter comes home every day upset, saying…read morethe principal is rude, constantly and yelling. When my daughter had an anxiety attack, instead of helping, the principal told her to "get up and go to class" while she was crying and unable to breathe. That's not leadership -- that's cruelty. The new bathroom rules are beyond ridiculous. Only ONE bathroom pass per class? My daughter said a girl stained herself during her period because she couldn't go. That is humiliating and completely unacceptable. Students aren't even allowed in buildings or outside during lunch, and the new drop-off/pick-up system has already caused accidents. This principal is doing the most but not even doing anything to protect our children. The students look miserable every day leaving school. Parents -- beware. I am switching my daughter to another school.

I told her we were just Christian.. she said what kind of Christian.. I said.. well, I was raised Mormon (because I'm honest) I didn't say this part.. Finding myself and my truth was the hardest thing I've ever done. Breaking away from the Mormon church in Utah.. was no easy task. However I did it for me and my kids and I'm proud of the choices I've made. I don't care for organized religion. So.. I told her we were christian. Because we believe in Christ. I'm open to it all. Catholics, Protestant, Mormons, Even atheist. Because I don't judge. I just love. She then said.. We don't accept Mormons. I said... I just told you we aren't Mormon. (Haven't been for 10 years) She said. Oh right. You said that. She proceeded to say that people new to the area need to establish a church and wait 3 months. Then get a pastor reference. I get it. I'm a rule follower. However, am I suppose to put my kids in public for 3 months? Then switch them as they're getting acclimated? Or just not put my kids in school and wait to see if they accept us. Already judging us? That's not very Christ like. I don't care to be apart of a school or church that's judge mental. That's one reason I left the Mormon religion. The lack of knowledge and lack of understanding was a humbling conversation for me. After her saying all that. I said, You know what? I don't think this school is right for us. Thank you for your time. Thank you Ontario Christian, for showing me what I want no part of.

The entire school staff is to be recognized for a GREAT event. Everything ran smoothly and the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional.

They kept whispering about us and I know they were because they kept looking. Also when my friends were being just a bit loud they kept saying "shut up" we just ignored them. But last week on Friday they were fan girling over a guy in the year book and being all loud which they squealed. Also they kept calling more girls to their table which kinda packed it up, and they kept trying to harass anyone that walk by. That's it but genuinely bullying needs to be taken care of.
