We are new to California. I was looking for a Christian private school for my 2 boys. I spoke to a lady at this school today. She asked of what Christian faith we were.. I told her we were just Christian.. she said what kind of Christian.. I said.. well, I was raised Mormon (because I'm honest) I didn't say this part.. Finding myself and my truth was the hardest thing I've ever done. Breaking away from the Mormon church in Utah.. was no easy task. However I did it for me and my kids and I'm proud of the choices I've made. I don't care for organized religion. So.. I told her we were christian. Because we believe in Christ. I'm open to it all. Catholics, Protestant, Mormons, Even atheist. Because I don't judge. I just love. She then said.. We don't accept Mormons. I said... I just told you we aren't Mormon. (Haven't been for 10 years) She said. Oh right. You said that. She proceeded to say that people new to the area need to establish a church and wait 3 months. Then get a pastor reference. I get it. I'm a rule follower. However, am I suppose to put my kids in public for 3 months? Then switch them as they're getting acclimated? Or just not put my kids in school and wait to see if they accept us. Already judging us? That's not very Christ like. I don't care to be apart of a school or church that's judge mental. That's one reason I left the Mormon religion. The lack of knowledge and lack of understanding was a humbling conversation for me. After her saying all that. I said, You know what? I don't think this school is right for us. RACIST!!! Please do not send your kids here! I went to school at Ontario Christian from 7-8th grade. I was so badly treated by BOTH the teachers and kids. In my yearbook it is written multiple times "take your magic carpet and fly back to your country". Teachers would hear this and laugh. They would purposely give me lower scores (I have been an honors student my whole life and now am a physician). Shame on this school for masquerading as a Christian learning environment. If your kids are Asian, Hispanic or generally "ethnic" PLEASE look elsewhere. read more

My siblings and I attended a private Christian school as children and we loved the OVERALL environment. The small classes and the one-on-one and overall attentiveness of the teachers and staff. The values and morals instilled at OCS are simply incomparable and are so similar to what we were taught growing up with a Christian education and in a Christian home. Being kind, treating others with respect and how you wish to be treated, loving your fellow mates, praising God daily and every night, and always putting God 1st. This school isn't just a school, it's a family. My niece has been here since kindergarten and just started 3rd grade and we couldn't have chosen a better "home" for her. The curriculum is unsurpassable. The kids rotate between their main teacher, language class, music, art and p.e. Their graduation percentage and college attendance is astounding. They teach the children to be honest, individual, creative thinkers. All things most schools don't offer until well AFTER elementary. They challenge the kids and they never feel defeated. They KNOW there is a next time & also are aware that they can't take that "next time" for granted. The entire office staff are the most kind and beautiful hearted people I've ever encountered. They are kind, endearing, very engaging and simply a blessing to have them in my nieces life. You'd really have to step onto this campus to get the warm feeling I'm trying to convey to see for yourself. It really and TRULY is a home away from home for the kids. Thank God for OCS. read more

I'm sorry but we will not endorse this school; my grandchild was bullied at this school, and it was grossly unresolved, and in fact my grandchild was made to blame for the problem. Now at a new school this year and all is so amazingly better and different for my grandchild. This school should be ashamed of what they put this poor child through. read more

My Husband and I love this school. Our daughter started there last year during the summer for Pre-K, and is now going to start kindergarten in the fall, and the school has been great! They are truely growing Christian Leaders. My daughter is far more advanced than most her age and the staff really show they care and are always keeping my family involved. I can go on on about the goodness of this school. My son Elijah age 7 has been at this school sense he was 5 years old. I've had an excellent experience with all of his teachers. My son has special needs. All of his teachers has gone out of there way to accommodate his chronic allergies and sensitivities. In fact his kindergarten teacher, Mrs Mesman modified her curriculum so my son could thrive in her class. I absolutely love the principal Mr. Wierma. He is truly one of God's servant. He is personable, extremely professional/knowledgeable and funny. He truly has heart for his students, teachers and families. I highly recommend this school. My child got bit by one of her peers, which happens at preschool age. The atrocious part of it all was that the wound was not cleaned. They just gave her an ice pack. The office then exclaimed, "It's good this happened so we can review our procedures." Excuse me? They should already be well aware of how to follow through with procedures. The same kid kept trying to pinch and hurt my daughter. When I went to the director, she divulged personal information about the boy to gain sympathy. Then she proceeded to say that maybe our daughter needs to communicate better and tell him it hurts her. So not only did the director breech privacy of her students by relaying personal information, but she placed blame on my child, the one who was being bullied. The director then said how everything will be better in the fall because they will be in different classrooms and have different recesses. I feel for the boy, because the school is failing him. He needs counseling and support, but instead the school is just sweeping problems that occur under the rug, instead of solving them. Needless to say, we pulled our daughter out of the school. I want my child to feel safe and secure, and not worried that she is going to be bullied and not have her teachers there for support. read more

Our kids have attended here for 3 years. We love it! I can't say enough good things about the preschool and elementary school has been excellent. They have a rigorous, diverse academic program. They have learned so much. The best part is they are learning how to be followers of Jesus!!! read more

My kid just transferred from Arizona this Fall. She loves go to school and loves to stay with her newly made friends. The school is awesome.

In my opinion, this is the best School in the area where you can bring your kid from pre k all the way to high school. Not to mention that your kids will receive a much needed Christian education. The academic program is rigorous and based on testing results the school grade is above all other schools. The campus is always clean and kids are just safe. Everyone is dedicated to the kids, most of all the principal Mr. Wiersma who always welcomes every kid every morning with a smile and incredibly knows them all by name. They say that this is a christian based school, but I have never seen unchristian like behavior. We were so excited to have my child go to school here because of the fact that the basis and curriculum is christian based. Then I experienced first hand how all the school wants are little robots. They need to understand that not all children learn the same. Some children need a different approach to help them on adjusting to a classroom setting. These children are not children that have behavioral issues. These are children that need a different type of reinforcement and attention. Even though my child was learning and doing great academically, my child was considered a behavioral issue because he could not sit still and would cry at times (keep in mind that he was just in kinder and was only the first 2 months of school). Because of this "Behavioral" issue I was given the option to either take him out of school or send him back to T-Kinder. I was really floored by this because I would have thought that the teacher (being christian based) would have more patience and attempt to understand why he would cry and not focus on the little things as long as he was learning. I was very angry about the situation. Things like this are what makes many people speak negatively about us Christians. This is what makes non-believers call us hypocrites. We are taught to love our children and to help people in need. This teacher/school did none of that. They were quick to "get rid of the problem" because it is too much trouble to teach a child that is not "Normal" in their book. I ended up taking my child out of the school and enrolled him in a public school. Guess what, the teacher at the new school is very loving to my child and goes above and beyond to make sure that the child is comfortable. My child is in a main stream classroom and does not require any special accommodations aside for approaching him in a different manner. There are no learning disabilities or behavioral issues. "Every child is different". If you don't have a child that is the "Perfect" child, expect to experience the same as I found that this is not the first time they do this. read more

Our daughter has been going to Ontario Christian since first grade (now in 5th). Ontario Christian has lived up to all that was promised and more. Academics are cutting edge with just the right balance of activities(music, band, art & Spanish). Their motto is Growing Christian Leaders, I think it should also say growing christian parents:) What I have witnessed in the past few years is my daughter truly becoming an example of Gods principals. Her love and knowledge of the Lord is such a testimony to her father and I. She often reminds us what the Lord requires of us! What an amazing place to enjoy great academics, encouragement and a lovely atmosphere. This was our son's first year at Ontario Christian. We had high expectations and the school as a whole lived up to all of our hopes and surpassed our expectations. We have watched our son mature in so many ways over his first grade year. His teacher, Mrs. Noreen, knew how to encourage his reading skills and he took a major leap into truly enjoying a wide variety of chapter books. There are a number of extras at Ontario Christian that have helped our son to blossom...Spanish, music, library, computer and the sports activities have inspired our son's growth. Wonderful Christian education with student diversity. Kids have quality education in a variety of disciplines to include arts, music, computers, spanish, bible, history, science, social studies and of course math and english. My children have been attending for over 6 years and I have been so pleased with our decision!
