Sisko's Pine Point Resort - Chippewa Flowage in the autumn

We have been coming to Sisko's on and off for 25 years, so we are aware of its rustic charm, which…read moreis why it holds such a special place in our hearts. We rented three cabins and a campsite. Despite there being open campsites in the most beautiful part of the campground with a view of the lake, we were given a spot by the garbage bins. We were told after we had set up, that we could move to the smallest spot if we could fit. The cabins were beyond filthy, there is no way the floors have been mopped in years. The three season porch was filled with dirt, dust and cobwebs. One cabin had a pull out couch, and it was filled with dirt, food and dust. We were determined to make the best of it, as we knew it was a no frills situation. However on our third day, we woke up to construction at 8:00am right next to our cabins. Not a great way to relax in the great northwoods. When I brought it to the owner - Adam's - attention, he was the rudest person I have ever experienced. I shared that it would have been nice to be informed that this was happening ahead of time, rather than being woken up to hammers, sawsalls and loud music. His first comment was "what do you want me to do, I have to get my building built" his second comment was "do you want a full refund and you can pack up and leave today?" and his third comment was "what is it that you want, I am not going to negotiate with myself" Adam is not out for creating a relaxing, fun environment, he is out for a cash grab. In full transparency he did provide a 20% discount on each cabin, but his customer service skills and general kind interactions was greatly lacking. These cabins are overpriced and in great disrepair in comparison to other cabins on the flowage. If it wasn't for Erin, their most awesome bartender, I am not sure we would even stop in for a drink. Stay far away from Siskos, which is sad as it is such an icon of the Chippewa Flowage.

My wife would not sleep in the bed. Neither would I. We stripped the sheets off only to find a most disgusting array of nastiness. I slept on a small futon in the main room and my wife slept in a chair. Thankfully she brought sheet and pillows or we would have been really sad. Interesting was their concern about my dog. Not too worry she would not have slept in that bed either. We won't be back. I didn't have the heart to describe this to any staff. If this is the condition in all of the cabins, getting repeat customers will be tricky.
