Then they have you. I decided to decrease the job to only the pier (not the bulkhead) and a small section between the neighbor so essentially decreased it by nearly half. The price went down only a small amount as they had my money already. I timed the man hours spent on the job "TEN hours"; mainly one man for almost a full day and another man for several hours. The labor was well over $5000!!! which is over 500 dollars per man hour. That is the biggest gouging I've ever had experienced. I'm ashamed to fall into their trap. Get many estimates and only agree upon a DETAILED FINAL QUOTE before you give them a dollar. THEN Get many more quotes . Murphy's is much cheaper but busier. Call outside the area like MillLville...anyone but Dennisville.
