Incredible customer service and great skills! Wonderful gift engraving! Super nice owner!read more

Shama, the owner, was great! Very personable and wonderful to work with…read more I wanted to get an engraving done on a baptism gift for my niece and of course waited until the last minute to pick what I wanted to give her. After noticing my local Things Remembered had closed its doors and after getting rejected for doing an outside engraving by one business, I found Sami's Engravings in Troy. She was honest in expressing that she would need to see my item to evaluate if engraving was possible at her store which was no issue since I had a flat, thicker, glass surface for which I wanted engraved. I came in Tuesday afternoon for her to complete an engraving by Thursday afternoon. But she was able to get it done and I picked it up in less than 24 hours! The process was able to move quickly because she was technologically savvy enough to shoot me texts for when she sent me emails as I am much slower to respond to emails. This allowed to me approve of the design swiftly so she could do her part to meet an aggressive deadline. And she did it all with kindness and a serving spirit! I would definitely come back to get my nephew's baptism gift engraved (once I figure out what I am getting him)! I will also be telling my friends and coworkers about her store for their gifting needs! It has been so hard to get optimum service since COVID. A+ Service A+ Speed A+ Communication

I had a vintage charm bracelet containing 80 silver charms that I wanted transferred to a necklace…read morethat I intended to purchase -the cost of putting those charms on was $800 & I thought that was really high. I didn't know if that was the going rate so I went to another jeweler where the cost of putting those charms on is $150. I've been dealing with Maloof's for years. This is not to say I would never go there for anything -perhaps a piece of jewelry or a ring, but I would never go there for any kind of repair or work on Jewelry

I genuinely wish I weren't writing this, especially after my initial experience at Maloof--which…read morewas stellar. A year ago, they offered the best price for a custom gold engagement ring, delivered impeccable craftsmanship, and treated me like a valued customer. That memory made us excited to return for our wedding bands. Unfortunately, that excitement evaporated the moment we were greeted by Jim. His demeanor was terse, dismissive, and bordering on condescending. Rather than guiding us through a special moment, he made us question whether we were foolish for even considering the pieces we showed interest in. After barely five minutes of engagement, he waved me off to another part of the store when I asked about silver chains. We stood awkwardly for nearly 20 minutes--no one acknowledged us, and it turned out we needed to pull a new number to get help. Meanwhile, I was fully prepared to make significant purchases. This review isn't about a single rude encounter--it's about how easily a brand can lose loyalty when they fail to deliver consistent respect and care. I'm giving Maloof two stars solely out of respect for their earlier excellence. But I won't return. If this business wants to remain relevant with a new generation of buyers, it needs to rethink who's representing it. A moment that should've been joyful was soured by apathetic service. That's the kind of dead weight that ages a brand out of existence.
