Entering from parking lot there's a gold rush!!

I really enjoyed this random pit stop after a great day at sunken forest on fire island. We were dropping off a friend when I saw the sign for some Halloween entertainment ! My friends were indecisive so I said - let's go and see - where else do we have to be!!! Haha It's great for kids with hot dogs, corn, and some other small treats. There's balloon animals and character balloons that vary in price. About $2-$5 ish. A haunted tunnel is also fun and entertaining (not to shabby for the price!!) it's $4 and there are coupons buy one get one free that are in the local papers and probably online. I happened to find one while I was there that was left! Woo hoo! There's an array of plants from mums to kale to others! You can make your own scarecrow!!! Stuff em draw on them and dress them!! $19.99 includes the clothes! There's also face painting, a gift shop and great for kids parties!!!

My kids 4 and 1 Yrs old had fun. Small activities area so everything is right there. Haunted tunnel includes short outdoor dinosaur trail walk (finish within 2 minutes) is $4 per person. Bounce $2. Face paint $3-$7. Balloon art $2-$5. Roasted corn dipped in pot of butter $3. Hotdog $2. Gold mining $4 ( not much to find but my son likes it. Need spare changing clothes since he gets all wet). Of cos free pumpkin patch. Free admission. Free park. Portable potty but acceptable condition. Will be nice if they have petting zoo. Great for toddler. Will definitely return next year.

Just returned from their Halloween and fall event. The place was packed but much to their credit they had people assisting and directing parking so the normal free- for- all at li farms wasnt happening. They had a lot going on, my kids loved the haunted tunnel, pirate adventure, and dinosaur thing. The roasted corn was delicious as was the candied Apples. There's a bounce house and the pumpkin picking is the halfway lined up pumpkins on a mat instead of actually in a patch. It's not a money trap but everything has a price of a few bucks here and there so it adds up. My family enjoyed the make your own scarecrow which was the priciest at $20. Fun but bring your wallet.

They Woodside crew did a complete overhaul on my front yard and couldn't be happier with the results!! Pete has the right eye for landscape design and he does it for free down at the nursery. Rip out of existing plants, planting and mulch all took 2 days and they did a great job!!Wish I had before photos of the project and pictures of the front beds.

We got this gorgeous tree at wOodside nursery thank you merry Christmas

Excellent nursery. My place to go to for plant needs. Good selection of fruit trees and shrubs, seasonal vegetables, and flowers.

We all love the corn on the cob on the weekend, but we will also go after school for the tunnel and decorations.

Once you walk in it's like you're in a different world. They have all kinds of plants, flowers - local and tropical. I saw some really awesome terrariums. They have a Hobbit inspired one, Star Wars, The Little Mermaid and other fairy gardens! I was mesmerized the whole time. I ended up buying a 3 tiered fountain, herbs and small statues. As I was paying, i saw some things I really wanted and went and got them...a birdcage, gourmet soups and a garden decoration. If you're a garden, plant lover, you'd better be ready to spend! There was no holding me back that day. If I could, I'd buy everything!!! Everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable. What's great is that everyone who shops there all know each other. As I was being helped by Jackie (I think that's her name) 3 women came and talked up their fountains and how much they loved theirs. Everyone was so pleasant, informative and friendly. For customers, who didn't know each other to talk about their wonderful experiences there made it really easy for me to make my decision. Better believe, I'll be back!

EAT YOUR HEART OUT HOME DEPOT…read more My wife and I were driving there for our first time purely on a hunch looking for a rose fertilizer that we couldn't find any where else. I don't normally give 5 stars to an establishment solely on a whim but Starkie caught me by surprise. Their plants for one looked healthy and weren't beat up by a lack of water or crated in like a surplus haul that we have seen at Home Depot. This Garden center was huge and made us feel that we were out on a farm in Amish Country. The whole Garden Center sits on a 1.2 to 1.5 or 57,000 square foot plot selling hard to find items that one would never see at Home Depot nor Lowes. *Large Parking Lot *The grounds clean, shelf items organized, cashiers eager to help you. Main building open and airy with a huge skylight allowing for plenty of natural lighting. *Property consists of 4 main buildings each dedicated to their own service of sales. Even though our purchase was small and our stay was brief, this Garden Center actually made for a lasting impression of quality on us. It is hard to predict if we will be ever purchasing again from them because of cost and distance from our home but at least for now it will be something to consider. *The Review Guru Long Island NY

Most species are available in a variety of sizes, and they have a nice large selection of larger trees. If you're looking for Leyland Cyprus, they have the largest selection I've ever seen. We recently used them for not the first time to buy two large trees and several shrubs. One was a 16' Japanese Cherry. Only found out after we carted it over to its new home that they are poisonous to dogs. A couple of days later, they gladly took my return, and I exchanged it for an even taller Cleveland Pear. Quite a sight watching me drive that home in an 8' trailer. Speaking of trailers, Sam's works best if you have a vehicle capable of driving the unpaved lot. You drive up to your bush or tree, load it in, and drive off Pay as you exit. Finally, let's get to the big question: are they really cheap? I say, ish. You will definitely pay less than you will in any of the good Nassau County retail nurseries. On trees the price difference is noticeable. Same for the big evergreens. The smaller stock is still fair or better pricing. Like I said, for large purchases, I'll hook up the trailer and drive 60 miles round trip. Says a lot. My only wish was that they had a few more people walking the yard to answer questions and help you lift, or some way of letting them know you need help. It's a big place and it's hard to be seen. Even leaving some hand trucks around would help. Recommended.
