We liked the park. I like that they had swings and slides and even a rock climbing wall. What was nice were the picnic tables in the shade in 104°! If you have small children, you just park up against the curb right where you see the park and maybe 10 feet 2 the tables and 5 feet to the actual place structure. read more

I wish it was bigger or had a lake? Maybe a fountain at least. I moved here from Oakland and i would walk to a park nearby my house that had different trails and it was wide enough for bikers and walkers. I would walk like 6 miles and it was nice just to keep going but here i can only loop. It was by the shoreline and it was so beautiful. I wish there were more places like that but this is pretty. read more

Careful with dogs on flex leads. I was at this park walking my service dog in training. All the dogs we passed by pulling to try to get to my dog but the owners had full control of them. Until we passed this one golden doodle and it had a flex lead and was pooping on the grass, it stopped pooping and the owners saw my dog and I thought they'd pull the dog in but no they left it like that, I walked passed with full control of my dog because he had a head halter and a prong and the other dog lunged at my dog. Thankfully my dog was not hurt as I put myself in front of him. But if your dog is reactive to dogs get your dog a non flex lead my dog could have been hurt. read more

The park is well kept......I just wish they kept the bathrooms that way as well!!! The first time I went I had baby wipes with me and cleaned what I could. We just got back from there today and this time I brought bathroom cleaner with me and soooooo glad I did!!!! Those bathrooms are never cleaned and they can't tell me they are! Had (you know what) caked on the toilet bowl! So I got out my gloves, paper towels and my bathroom cleaner and cleaned the toilet seat and sink! COM'ON!!!!! CLEAN THOSE NASTY BATHROOMS!!!!! read more

The park is big and a lot of room for your kids to run and play! A lot of sports events on weekend. A large gazebo to host parties.

Very nice amenities for kids, the main playground is clean and well kep grounds. Sadly after 6 PM there are some very sketchy people that hang out here, and its hard to feel safe. read more

I would say that this park has all the required fundamentals that I require in order to keep coming back. I'm new to Manteca, so it's nice to have visited during the Summer prior to moving here so I could explore various parks and other activities to take my 3 1/2 year old daughter to. I moved here late August of this year, and this is the closest go-to park we have. The equipment isn't damaged in any way, so that removes any concerns I would have toward my daughter or my boyfriend's kids getting hurt. Also, it's across the street from Manteca's library, which is a genuine plus because the kids can enjoy browsing through the library, then head across the street to pay on the playground equipment. It's modernized equipment and a train does go by now and then (yes, I realize I live in Manteca, everywhere is close to the train tracks). You're also close to downtown shops and restaurants, so that makes things even more fun. A few concerns: I've seen a few young mothers that have several children that are allowed to run around without any supervision. Things like throwing potato chip bags on the ground, throwing dirt & bark in the drinking fountains isn't acceptable behavior. Bigger kids are using an area meant for smaller children. When toddlers are playing in the toddler area, the older, bigger kids should be playing in the area designed for them. Again, this attributes to parent supervision. This can cause my child to get hurt, and I am definitely not okay with that. Some days, you will find homeless people sleeping far off in the distance. They can stay in the distance, but when they approach you when you are taking quiet time while your children play, that's where I draw the line. Last (and this adds to the littering I mentioned above), I've noticed people littering all over the park. Telling my child NOT to touch a rotting orange peel or last time a McDonald's bag is something that needs to stop-especially when the garbage is within mere feet of the trash. I love this park, but the above concerns seem to be escalating. I'm hoping this post will help other parents be more aware and keep this park the amazing place it is for our kids to play! read more

Nice park with well maintained soccer fields. I've spent countless weekends out here as a spectator and have never had any complaints or concerns. I'm almost dissapointed to not fend off any homeless or wandering druggies, but then again I have a twisted sense of humor. Pro-Tip: Park in the centralized parking lot if you want to be near a bathroom, as if you park on the edges you'll take a huge trek just to relieve yourself (unless you use a friendly neighborhood bush....you pervert). read more

Absolutely love the walking path with its mile markers. Hate the doggy dookie all over. Clean up after your pooch people! The bathrooms are not clean and there is no soap! Take your own hand sanitizer! Lots of green grass and open fields as well as a fenced in area for letting your doggies run. Overall a good place for a morning jog. read more

This park is wide open, well kept and beautiful. They have 2 kids playgrounds, basketball courts and bathrooms near by. There is a huge open grass area to play sports or to let your dogs run and get out some energy. There is a covered patio with tables and seating for a party or to have lunch at. Overall it's one of the best parks I have been too. Definitely worth taking your kids to have some fun and release energy. read more

I live nearby. A nice park...except for all the autos that get broken into (about 10 per large tournament). An auto burglar paradise. Beware. Manteca police know about the problem but aren't proactive. If you report a suspicious person during games and tournaments, the police dispatchers ALWAYS justify not sending an officer by asking, "Is the person doing anything (crime in progress)?" Not until your car is broken into is a community policing truck sent only to take the report. Want proof? Look at the Manteca police crime map. Scary. read more

One of the best parks in the area. I remember coming here in high school and having picnics because the park is really big. They have a lot of tables. One thing i love about this place is the playground. I agree with MJ, it's not your average jungle gym. They do have bathrooms but it's pretty dirty but then again it is a public restroom. They also have basketball courts and the park is big enough to play soccer. Overall, it's a good place to bring your friends and family to. read more

I'm visiting from out of town and I went on the internet to find a Dog Park. The internet stated that Woodward Park had a Dog Park so we went. I asked one of the citizens ther ewhere the Dog Park was. She stated the very large fenced area was the Dog Park, but the sign on the gate stated "Dogs must be on a leash". I thought a Dog park was a place where the dogs could run free "off the leash" and play. I also noticed there were no dog fountains, benches or tables.
