We heard that the park next to the Lathrop Police Station had a great splash pad and that it was a…read moremust, so we had to check it out. The park is called Lathrop Landing Community Park, but most people just refer to it as Lathrop PD Park. (Located next to PD) This park has everything. Seriously, everything! - multiple picnic areas with shade - two tennis courts - two basketball courts -big grass fields - really cool splash pad area with water coming out of the ground, overhead sprinklers, and they all kind of rotate, so different things are happening at different times. Also has a little water play table area. It's one of the more impressive splash pads that I've seen at a community park. - individual bathroom stalls - rinse off showers (yes, really!) - xylophones and other musical equipment - exercise equipment throughout - slides going down the hill - very impressive separate play areas, one for the younger kids and one for older kids. The one for older kids has a ramp, so it's ADA accessible. - baby swings - adult swings, and even a handicapped swing - A merry-go-round - four-person teeter-totter - rope climbing course - ample seating & trash cans The whole playground area is a soft solid foam surface, so there's no messy sand or wood chips or anything like that. This park literally has it ALL. We were super impressed by all the features they added and it's an extremely impressive playground. It's definitely a new favorite for us. The only negative things I had to say is that the sun shades shift so many of the picnic tables weren't shaded at times of the day. They have lots of trees planted but they're all young and not providing shade yet. The picnic areas will be nice ones those grow a little! The grass patch next to the splash pad was also flooding and a muddy mess. The city is going to have to do something about that, it was a bit of a hazard. Flooding over the sidewalk and kids slipping in mud. (Note: we went by twice. This was only an issue when the park was busy and the splash pad was getting a lot of use) It was also windy both times we visited. Not sure if it's just a windy week, or windy area... tbd! Just bring a hat or hair tie with you just in case!

This cute little neighborhood park is a lovely place to take a stroll, bring the kids for some…read moreplaytime, or just a place to relax on a bench and meditate under the abundant trees. The grass and landscaping, including the roses, are well kept and always clean. There's a fence along the corner of the park that keeps the little ones from darting into traffic, which we find to be comforting. There is a playground geared towards toddlers as well as a separate playground right next to it that's geared towards the older kids, which is nice if you have kids of multiple ages. Our daughter loves the spiral slide, and she loves the fact that there are two slides in the 'big kid' playground. I personally enjoy strolling the perimeter of the park (it takes an entire block up with the open grass area) and then being able to relax and listen to the sound of the breeze rustling the leaves. I'm grateful to have found it.

A few porta-potties are spread around the grounds. Mid week be prepared for a little more dust and noise due to construction. With that, the park is still exceptionally maintained, clean, safe, and great for the kiddos and pets!

This is the biggest general park in Ripon. It is a pretty large scale park with an upper and a…read morelower area. The upper area has 4 horseshoe pits and bocce ball courts. There is a small kids playground by these courts. Another part of the upper area consists of a large lawn area, which is plenty big for several different sports. There are two baseball diamonds and a medium size playground. The bathrooms are located by the baseball diamonds. Near this area is also a butterfly garden. When you walk to the lower area, there is a large gazebo which is nice for parties. There are two volleyball courts that consist of sand. The remaining area is fairly large and consist of lawn. The park parallels the Stanislaus river and there are several access points to enjoy the water. This park can get fairly busy on the weekends.

When the water is low it only comes up to your knees in most places and deep areas up to your waist. This part of the river is mostly sandy instead of rocky. The city keeps the park well maintained and there appears to a community center along with public restrooms, a butterfly garden, a large gazebo area and a volleyball area. Went on Labor Day and was surprised there were no crowds, especially since there is no entrance fee. You can either park in the park and walk to the river or you can park in a city parking area with paved trails leading towards the river. No BBQ grills or tables near the river but they do have lots of garbage bins so bring your dog, camp chairs and a picnic basket and soak in the natural beauty.

(This garden is not great for strollers but if you are determined like me it is possible). Definitely plan on going back. Goose poo in several locations throughout the park and a good amount of it in the grassy areas just a heads up.
