An Italian family own and operate the place and they're hospitality is second only to the food. Absolutely amazing meal, just tell them what you don't like and they'll bring the rest. For families like us, they do have high chairs. They will take your order if you sit inside. There's also an outdoor garden however you need to come to the counter to order. Same with drinks. Each room has a lot of history. Take one look around and there's a lot going on. Apparently this location used to be a part of monastery and has evolved over the years now to a great pub. Each dish we enjoyed, the vegetarian linguine was fresh, chips were delicious and the fish was wonderful. They do have adorable signs greeting the dogs and even offering their own dog menu. I do love the fact that they take photos of them and there is hundreds of photos on ceiling of all the dogs that have been inside the bar. Now then, down to the important stuff. If you have never been there or if your last visit was more than 18 months ago (today's date is September 2014) you are in for a real treat. Robert (chef) and Donna (joint tenant) have changed this lovely old pub into a lovely old pub serving VERY fine food in goodly portions! The menu is constantly tweaked but this was the menu when Judi and I visited for lunch bringing our friend Philip and our miniature schnauzer, Bertie (i.e. they're dog-friendly!) Parking is ample and there is a large lawned beer-garden with children's play facilities at the rear and a fenced-off terrace at the front.
