It also has a lovely lake to take a short walk round. It's a brilliant place for bikes and scooters too. The paths are all suitable for pushchairs. The cafe is situated at the entrance to the park and has clean toilet facilities as well as stocking a wide range of the usual cafe snacks and ice creams. The food is pretty good if you forget to take a picnic. There's a lovely play and exploring area right outside the cafe near the picnic tables so you can sit and have a drink while keeping an eye on the children. There's also a spot from which you can feed the ducks on the lake nearby. If your children need even more to explore, there is a small area of woodland to run round on one side of the lake as well. It's a great way to spend a day. Plus, you can venture further afield if you really want to on sign posted walks.

And as you go deeper into the park, you realise what an incredible sigh of relief this park is as it gives you a break from the busy, industrial city ; instead offering you serenity and beauty. You wouldn't even think it's in Birmingham! Rolling hills, towering trees and a blanket of green surrounding you; each area is beautiful. Even if you do get drenched by the rain like I did, it's definitely worth it! A must for those seeking an escape!

This very popular landscape, placed between Rednal and Barnt Green areas, is a 524 acres park with a visitor centre, golf, tennis and bowls and also a wonderful view provided from the top of the Beacon Hill, the highest point of Lickey Hills. It's a huge public space that is perfect for walkers not afraid of a bit of adventure and also families that can have a good use of its recreation park. There is a cafe nearby the recreation area and you may need some food and drinks after walking through the park. I have been to Lickey Hills with a group of very enthusiastic friends and I can tell that in the end of the journey to Beacon Hill we were all tired but happy because the perspective we have of some parts of Birmingham from that point is quite impressive. If you thinking about making some walking, make sure you have plenty of water and comfortable trainers to face this hilly walk. We had a lovely picnic up there and it was really a good idea to have some food to compensate all energy spent during the journey. We worth it! There is a free car parking at Lickey Hills. The bus number 62 service from the city centre and the Barn Green train station are the other options to get there.

But despite having visited a few of those myself I still love coming to the Priory Park in Great Malvern. Is very nicely kept, the trees are absolutely gorgeous, there's plenty of birds, squirrels, ducks... Pretty much every month there's something going on at the park. The bandstand holds music weekends very often. There's family days packed with activities, music weekends, you get the idea!. Lovely for walks with the family and friends, bring your pets along

There are lots of paths to follow, all sorts of open green areas to relax in and countless picture worthy locations. You'll also come across lots of cows roaming the area as well as birds and other wildlife. There's a fairly large parking area that accommodates a good amount of vehicles. A small visitor center area includes a small museum, which details some of the historical things one may encounter, a description of the wildlife in the area, and a brief history of the park, and how it came to be. Adjacent to the museum is a coffee shop that sells hot drinks, cold drinks, ice cream and a variety of snacks and gifts.

Crickley Hill is a great spot for a ramble, with or without children or dogs. It has few facilities…read more- a small visitors' centre of uncertain opening hours, loos, and plenty of parking. For the warmer months, there is a central picnic area as well as scattered benches throughout the park, and an ice cream van often visits the larger carpark. There are several trails marked out, or you can wander at will. There are some elements of historic interest if the visitors' centre is open, along with some information boards about the settlements which used to be there - some of which are marked out with posts in the ground. The big open area where the settlements used to be is now great for flying a kite - be warned on windy days, the site is mostly quite exposed and can be a lot windier and colder than lower ground! Fantastic views over Cheltenham and Gloucester on a clear day.

I especially appreciated the indoor sandbox , soft climbing space and interactive chick display. Several of the animals could also be found inside for up close experiences like rabbits, goats, and calves. The inner farm girl in me was soaking in every minute of the experience. Expect to pay around 15 pounds per adult for your visit. Note that they also have rustic (teepee/camping) accommodations available on site.

The only problem was that we had not rented a car, and public tranportation didn't run out that way, so we had to take a taxi. No big deal. The man was very nice and promised to come back and pick us up at 5pm, when the park closed. This place is owned by a local TV celebrity (although of course we didn't know who he was). The park is all about conservation of rare breeds of animals and farming. For Americans, this place is kind of like a big pumpkin patch (that you visit in the fall), but without the pumpkins. There are little rides for the children, lots of animals, and even a corn maze. There's also a gift shop.

Originally part of the landscaped grounds of the old Barnwood House Hospital (famous Gloucestershire poet Ivor Gurney was once a resident) there is a stream running through the park with ducks so dog owners please keep your dogs on a lead. Barnwood Arboretum buzzes with wildlife and the Friends of Barnwood Arboretumare busily creating habitats to encourage even more into their little wilderness. Birds visiting the space include sparrowhawks, jays, buzzards, various woodpeckers, goldcrests and kingfishers During the autumn and winter months the area is grazed by rare breed sheep to to mow the grass. It's also a folly - a building that looks like it has a useful purpose (in this case, a strategic lookout), but is really just for decoration or personal enjoyment. In this case, it was commissioned by the 6th Earl of Coventry as a token of affection for his wife Lady Barbara.

They can make one mean mocha! Cute holidays ornaments, builder sets & more. Outside there are nice tables and cute kids play toys like a teepee to go into etc 2nd cafe & shop had lovely clothes and bags... We ended up doing the loop hike and saw so many cute sheep and a herd of deer with a magnificent buck; many places to rest and take up a view of the valley on a comfy bench...the tower tour came w listening device with history..: view from roof was amazing. There's a small shop at the bottom of the tower stocked w similar to first shop. My 75 year old mom was a little tired going up some of the hills but crushed it; I was just as tired ha ha
