The youth does this outreach/recreation and arts center once every 5 weeks for local bands (christian and non-christian) to come together and share their talents. It is however a strong, loving congregation. Members are quick to notice visitors and introduce themselves to try and make them feel more at home, and simply get to know them more. Pastor Joe has been there for, I think, 13 years or so now. This church places a big emphasis on Discipleship, which I think is great because I could always grow in my knowledge and application of how to better spread God's Word. I've been attending Lakes my whole life as my parents have been going there since they were kids, and my fathers parents were charter members. Lakes youth ministry meets on Sunday's at 6, and will often times incorporate outreach ministries like going to Faces of Change in Camden, NJ, to help hand out food, drink, and clothes to homeless or less fortunate. Along with our few discipleship groups, a young couple started Shine Ministries which is an outreach program to give back as they often times will hand out food in Camden, spend time with children at the Ronald McDonald House, technologically educate men and women in retirement homes, and many others great ways to give back and show Christ's love. I've had nothing but great experiences at Lakes. If you're looking for a church where you can go and slip through the cracks, this may not be for you. It is currently led and served by one very hard working priest who is tirelessly dedicated to his flock and keeps instituting new ways to get more parish members actively involved in the practice of our faith and in sharing and fellowship as a community.
