We hired Tom and crew to take down a large diseased tree close to our house. The quote was fair…read moreand comparable with other quotes we got from other companies. They did a great job getting the tree down safely and without damage to our property. They placed a plywood path in the grass to avoid damage to our lawn from the trucks. They did exactly as we asked with the wood (chip the small branches and brush and dump it in the back yard for the garden and hen house, and cut the larger pieces into firewood-sized chunks so we can split it and use it this winter). They ground the stump down nice and deep. The only reasons I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they didn't even attempt to level the ground where the stump was, and because they did not communicate well about when they were coming. They had 2 numbers and only called one, and when they didn't get an answer they just came to the house anyway rather than calling the second. He had given us a timeframe (10-14 days till service) with the quote, and it was nice that they came sooner than expected, but an unanticipated arrival was an issue for 2 reasons: they only take cash (so we had to run out to the bank), and I work night shift. I had worked the night prior and had to go back in that night, so I only got about 3 hours of sleep. If they had communicated more effectively I'd have requested a different day. Overall I recommend and will use them again when my trees need trimming this fall.
