We are now paying a fortune to rip off a one-year-old roof that was supposed to protect our cottage. Their customer service? Non-existent. Their excuses? Olympic-level. They'll blame everything except the mirror. They insisted they had to do the waterproofing themselves or the warranty would be void. We let them. Surprise -- they still won't honour it. Their latest masterpiece? Blaming "ice damming in Muskoka." Buddy, ice dams in Muskoka are as predictable as blackflies in June. If your roof can't handle basic Canadian winter physics, maybe roofing isn't your calling. The cherry on top? They sealed off our entire ridge vent and then had the nerve to blame us for the roof not breathing. That's like tying someone's hands behind their back and complaining they're bad at clapping. Recently we had capstone come and insulate our attic. We noticed a difference immediately. After…read moreliving in our home for 8 years our upstairs master bedroom continued to be really cold in the winter and warm in the summer. Our home is fairly new, but James explained that not enough insulate and bad ventilation could cause the issue we are experiencing. The night after James from Capstone added new baffles in our attic and more insulation, the temperature dropped to -20c outside. Yet our bedroom was actually warm like the rest of the house for the first time on a cold night. Since then we have reduced our thermostat by 2 degrees but we feel warmer and more comfortable upstairs. Not only was capstone very competitive in their pricing, but James returned a few items and refunded us as they weren't needed. My only regret is not doing this sooner. If I ever move I will be calling James from Capstone to look after our attic.
