This store is so interesting to me. There is so much to look at and they have really good prices. I hadn't even heard of it until recently when a friend recommended it. I love their selection of furniture and I found quite a few things that I was interested in. They have so much home decor that you could spend quite a while looking around in here. There is a kids toy section, they sell clothing, there is a huge food and snacks section with different items from around the world. There is also a alcohol section which is closed right now due to COVID. The kitchenware section was fun to look through as well. I can definitely see myself coming back here every season to see what they are offering. read more

One of my favorite stores. There's such unique decor, furniture, beer, wine and snacks from all over the world. I can't just walk in and browse this store. There's always something (snacks) that I have to add to my basket. If you need fun and interesting gift ideas - there are an array of goodies you'll find from lotions to toys to food. There's even jewelry and clothes. My favorite sections are the snacks and drinks. There are an array of beer and wine from all over the world as well as coffee and tea for those who don't consume alcohol. I was looking all over town for lady fingers to make tiramisu a few months ago. I went to several grocery stores and they don't stock these anymore. The only place I found some were at World Market. There's even a kit with all the ingredients to make this dessert. They also have some clearance snacks, at the very back of the store. Be sure to check the expiration dates! Came here looking for mafaldine pasta and they had such a limited supply of pasta noodles to choose from. I came when they just opened for the day so maybe they were preoccupied but when I walked in, the female worker at the entrance was just staring off into space. For the most part it's the same world market as anywhere else but for some reason I don't think this location had that good of inventory. read more

What a fun place to shop. All sorts of interesting sometimes beautiful housewares. Good selection of lower end wines, higher end snacks (like caviar), some random jewelry and accessories from around the world (but mostly Asia and Africa). All Cost Plus World Markets are fun to visit all year round but this one was especially fun for me in March as they transition to their Spring stock. This means all sorts of stuff goes on clearance pricing. I also always seem to get into a friendly conversation with some random other customer when I'm here, so I guess I like their clientele. read more

Probably one of the best retail experiences I have ever had. My husband and I were looking at a table we were unsure about. Jordan went completely out of her way to bring a different one from the back AND open it for us so we could inspect it. We found that this was the PERFECT table for our formal dining room and she made the experience so easy! Even though I am sure it was a pain in the butt she made it seem like it was no big deal. Cost Plus World Market is like the awesome hybrid of 80s-era Pier One and a gourmet ethnic market! Their rewards program has nice incentives and decent, frequent coupons. Need Japanese folding fans? They've got 'em. Need an Indian-inspired shower curtain? Got it. Need a bottle of Rogue Brewery's new Voodoo Donut-themed brew? Got it. The staff here is friendly and helpful. The store is clean, organized, and full of wondrous items from all over the world. A great customer experience with these folks. Following a couch delivery snafu, I spoke with Damon on the phone. He listened to my concern and connected me directly to George the GM. He went into action and kept me apprised of the process to get me the right product. He and his fellow associate Nick delivered the correct couch the day after it was delivered to them. I could spend hours in World Market - there is just so much to look at. I personally come here to check out the unique food varieties from spices, to coffee, to oils, etc. They have exotic options from other countries that you won't find in a lot of grocery stores around town. The store always looks put together and clean. They have great kitchen accessories, that I almost always want to buy ALL of the coffee mugs that I see in here. The prices usually seem reasonable and for some things, cheaper than other places around, which is a plus. Overall I always have a great experience in here. I have never really had to ask for help so I cannot comment on the customer service of those walking around the store, but I am usually asked if I am finding everything okay. read more

First off we came here just to look around, the sale on furniture was a hidden plus. Had it not been for the stellar customer service, we would probably still be without a table and chairs. Bradley was super helpful, answered all of our questions and didn't try to upsell us. He was more concerned with making sure the items fitted our needs and were perfect for us. I love to just meander around looking at all the fun tchotchkes-- birthday cards/gift wrap, soaps/lotions, towels/curtains/furniture/lamps/picture frames/wall art, kitchen utensils/bowls/mugs/teapots, incense/candles, and lots of fun foods, candies, and beverages (wine/beer/soda/coffee) from all over the world. Tried to return a pub table that we received as a gift from my mother in law, and the supervisor rejected the return because we did not have a receipt. How are we suppose to have a receipt for a gift? It was already a sore subject that we were returning the table since it was a gift I am not going to badger my mother in law for a details regarding the receipt. We live 30 minutes away and made a specific trip into Grand Rapids to return this table. It was busy in the store but the unwillingness of the manager to even make it right with us was unbelievable. I called later to speak with another manager and after explaining the situation again, he still asked for details regarding a receipt that I wasn't able to get. From friends and family I have heard of their wonderful experiences shopping at World Market, which is not what we received. read more

I can't say enough about how impressed I was with their store - from the care I received in the store, to the unbelievable service I received upon delivery (including the manager, George, sending 2 store employees over to my house to help with an issue). I just visited World Market for the first time and had no idea that this was such a cool store. I went in because I heard about their great wine selection and was surprised at how much more they have to offer. Really eclectic and neat finds from all over the world. Being that it was my first visit, I was wandering around just browsing and was approached by an employee (I think her name was Jordan?) asking if I needed any help. Just went shopping here with my mom last weekend. She was looking for new barstools and possibly a bistro table. We had questions about how the barstools assemble so we started talking to one of the salespeople, Mike. He was so helpful and friendly! He also called over another salesperson to help answer one of our questions and he was just as helpful. They helped carry items to the car and load them and were so accommodating. My only gripe is that we tried to use AmEx prepaid gift cards (which can be used anywhere that accepts AmEx) and they didn't know how to ring them (debit, credit, gc?). The lady behind the counter wasn't very helpful and basically told us that nope, they couldn't take them, sorry. She didn't really want to try to figure it out and didn't think of calling her manager to help her. So we just paid with cash. Then we discovered after reading the info about the cards that they're just like cash and should be rung up using the gc selection. I understand not knowing how to do something if it's the first time a customer has presented it, but she completely shot us down and just said no to using them. I have been shopping here for some time, quality merchandise. Yesterday was the final straw. I was RETURNING six empty pop bottles, repeat returning six empty pop bottles, purchased obviously from World Market. 60 cents, I had to give my number for members and put them into the computer before she would do the return. I asked "what if I didn't have a number or just returning them for a friend" she had no answer. This has happened the last three times that I was returning empty bottles., guess what. I will buy specialty pop at Big Lots, half the cost, great flavors. I am done with World Market. read more

My wife and I have relied on World Market for over 17 years to find furniture, home decor, and unique gift ideas. We just became home owners again after renting for 6 1/2 years so we purchased a new dining room table and chair/bench set. Everything was easy to assemble, but when I was working on the table I discovered the holes in the two support pieces did not align properly. I called the store and spoke with one of the managers, Tim. Tim was very kind, professional, and told me he would have the two replacement pieces ready for me when I arrived at the store. When I showed up later the same evening Tim was true to his word and had the pieces were ready as promised. After I arrived home, I finished the assembly of the table with no issue. We had never had any issue in the past with any products from World Market. The way Tim had handled our situation, we walked away feeling like valued customers.
