stopped here today for the first time. i came in looking for a specific item so while i knew what i wanted, i still wanted to look around. im so upset i never came here before! the atmosphere reminds me of a country store back home. they have so much and so many things you wouldn't even think of. definitely want to go again soon! also, the person who took care of me at the register was so helpful. helped me get signed up for the rewards and even got to use a coupon on my first purchase! read more

I was shopping here as I often do and was having a wonderful time finding so many great gems. I was discussing our last section to scour with my wife when we were accosted by a black woman who works at this location. Mind you we had been in this store for roughly forty minutes before she came to harass us about not wearing a stupid mask. I most likely will not be back to this store due to the rudeness and uneducated assault lavished upon us by this woman. This new movement of stores running off long time customers for unnecessary reasons has baffled me, but in the long run we will find stores that don't cause problems in our shopping. Harassing customers is completely uncalled for. read more

Hostile and rude. The only terms I have to describe the employees at this location. I had been in the store for several minutes when a black woman came up demanding I put on a mask. She made it very clear that I wasn't welcomed in the store without one. Her attitude was totally rude and combative. Since she certainly acted as if she had the authority to eject people from the store, I'm assuming she is a manager here. No others stores in Shreveport are doing this. Other stores have mask signs posted, but they don't attack their customers over it. I have not been in any other Shreveport stores where they literally throw customers out if they don't have a mask. I had planned on making a large purchase that day, including multiple adirondack chairs, but instead left the store. Obviously WM doesn't care if they have my business, so I'm happy to take it to other stores that are actually nice to their customers. read more

While shopping at the Shreveport LA location I was accosted by a rude black girl, guessing it's one of the managers, demanding I put on a mask. Mind you this was after I'd already been in the store a good 30 minutes and was standing in line for the register. She refused to check me out at the register until I had put a mask on. She made a loud public scene out of, I'm assuming in an attempt to shame me. Is this how you treat customers, by trying to publicly humiliate them? Won't be back to this store ever!! read more

I was supposed to make the trek to Shreveport yesterday to go to World Market again but it didn't happen. I've only been once as I had been told by my classmates and professors that this is every person who loves to cook's dream place to visit. I wasn't sure what to expect, as I had been told they have more than just food, furniture and other odds and ends. Upon entering, you feel like you are in a Whole Foods or Trader Joes with wines to the left and aisles of food. But on the right they have clothing and accessories and gifts galore. In the back they have some other higher end unique delicacies to purchase. Watch out for the free coffee and tea sampler in the very back. I tried some caramel pumpkin spice and it was very bland, definitely not purchase-worthy. We ended up finding the wine we served at our wedding, which we couldn't find anywhere else so far in North Lousiana, we bought a package of sweet potato gnocchi, and a jar of hazelnut banana spread. It was well worth our visit and I've been hoping to go back since! read more

I have shopped at this world market for years now and after today's trip have some concerns. My friend that was with me asked if the place was going out of business because honestly it was just a mess. It is very difficult to shop inside the store because nothing is organized and everywhere has what I guess is product or items that have not been picked up yet. We went in looking for lamps and were unable to look in this section at all because there were huge piles of food and other boxes on the floor in the way and way too large to move ourselves. We quickly walked through most of the rest of the store and found this same issue everywhere. Of all the times I have come here I dont think I have ever seen it this messy and unorganized. Several other people shopping seemed upset about it too. I was approached by someone who worked there and asked if needed help and I just responded that I was fine and we left shortly after. Everyone is usually nice and helpful. I don't always get the chance to do some shopping, let alone with a friend and was very embarassing to suggest we go look there, as she hasn't been, just to be unable to do so. I hope things get better as I really enjoy shopping here but my last few trips it seems has gotten worse each time. Shelly read more

I am all about some World Market! Just give me an excuse to come here, whether it's bringing the dog over to neighboring Pet Smart for a shave and a rinse, or I'm feeling down and out and I gotta go to nearby Velocity Care (which is awesome, by the way!) or whatever, I'm going to hit World Market whenever I'm in the area! It's just an awesome store! I love all the knick knacks, the wine and beer and soda selections, the international foods selection, the kitschy and cool artwork. It's just a great place to walk around in and browse, even if you're not going to buy anything. What I like in particular: That they have Curly Wurly candy bars from Merry old England (these are just like Marathon bars from back in the day, chocolate with braided caramel-AWESOME!) and Aero bars from Canada, eh? Dee-lish! I also like that they sell Tikka Masala sauce at $4 a jar, so you can make your own Chicken Tikka Masala at home! They also have really cool Pez dispenser selections. My wife loves this place... I mean really loves it. I like their selection of wines and the price is really good. My wife could shop in here for hours... Lots of odd hard to find items that they have for sale... Like a huge selection of Little Golden Books - which my wife wants one copy of everyone she read to the boys when they were young. Makes my wife happy - so I am a fan. Easy to get in and out, nice size parking lot. Lots of open space to look around inside. read more
