It's a 1920s school turned into a theater, with a majority of the original school intact. I was able to get some last minute tickets for the show, The Producers, literally 2 hours before the play. Cost was not bad at all, $25/person. They offer a VIP experience too, for another $25/person, that comes with heavy hors d'ouevres and non-alcoholic drinks (not offered on Sundays). Parking was not bad. We got there early and ordered drinks from the bar (fairly full bar of offerings). Costs on alcohol were not bad either. It was fun touring the school house and seeing all the old pictures of class photos taken there, and all the frames photos of previous plays put on. Even the school rooms had the window above the doorway. There is also a restaurant in back with some great mural art/paintings on the wall. The theater was fairly large and presented well, with cushy seats and convenient drink holders. My expectations were low and I was very much surprised by the skill level of the cast and how well the show was run. I've never been to Broadway but I've been to the Fox, and this show would equal some of the stuff I've seen there or at other theaters. Very talented cast! The show was also incredible. Overall, this was a wonderful visit. If you live in the area, you'd be crazy not to check out a show here!

It is unique to get into art center through the cover bridge. They have a lot small building for art classes. When we were there, there is a clay class is going on. The spinning of the clay try to take shape of the items they made. The main building host photographer class and exposition of the lunch cal artist. Not to many art pieces were display. The outside of the building does has larger pieces art sculpture on display. Some is interesting. The total visit is less than one hour. Since we did not take any art classes, cannot tell you much about the full center can offer. I think is worth a visit since you are there. But not for the set destination visit.

The bathroom has become dreamy, serene and joyful, and I find myself walking in there all the time just to admire the scenery. I highly recommend Anna to anyone looking for a muralist. She is a skilled painter; the way she filled in the mural around the skylight and ceiling lights worked perfectly. She has a great eye for color and detail and her suggestions were excellent (go with her advice if she tells you to go for a less saturated tone than you had in mind--you will be glad you listened to her). She is easy to work with, and her pricing is very reasonable. She knows her stuff!

I knew that would be the backsplash for my babies room before I even knew we were having a boy or girl. My little boy is now 8 months old and after receiving about the 100th+ compliment on the mural and I had to come and post a big thank you. Anna was very responsive in the planning stage and was quick to get us on the schedule knowing I wanted to have the room painted before bringing furniture in. It came out better than I could have hoped for and she was wonderful to work with. Anna is super talented and I would highly recommend her.

The wall itself is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC, it stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end. The wall like the one in D.C has exactly 58,272 names on it. The Vietnam conflict (it was never declared a war by Congress) lasted from about 1955-1975. As many of us know the conflict divided the country deeply and when the soldiers came back from the war they came back not as honored heros of a grateful nation; Instead their presence was greeted with scorn, anger and some soldiers were reportedly spit on and called baby killers. To add insult to injuries there were no such thing as wounded warrior projects or PTSD or any problems to help them get reacquainted back into society. As a result many committed suicide, turned to alcohol and drug-use. Most that served in the war that are still alive are all in their 70's, 80's and 90's and beyond. Many of them never talk about their time there and this memorial is a loving tribute to their friends, colleagues, and brothers who made the ultimate sacrifice. My friend came looking for his captain and his sergeant. His captain John M. Harrington was on panel 10E and line 118. A West Point graduate he along with SP4 Manzie Glover Jr. were assigned to Headquarters & Headquarters Company (HHC), 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry, 196th Infantry Brigade. On September 19, 1966, they were occupying a night position about 5 1/2 miles from Tay Ninh City when a friendly forces artillery round fell short and landed nearby. Both suffered fatal injuries in the incident. Sixteen other soldiers were injured, three seriously. His Sergeant Joseph R. Martinez was only 23 when he was KIA in Feb. 1967. From what I understand he left behind a wife and two young children. When we were there there were people from all generations there some bringing framed photos and flowers of their loved ones. The wall was made possible by the Fannin County Veterans and the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church who generously donated parts of their land for the display and allowed visitors to park in their church parking lot. Definitely a unique experience. We actually had the builder and owner give us a tour. It's was a 2…read morehour tour but we felt like we got the VIP experience. You could certainly go in, run around, look at the castle in 15 mins, but we wanted to understand the art, the reason behind the build and just learn a few things. Santa was there for pictures and it's neat that you can rent a room IN the castle. We weren't able to view those rooms but, I believe there are pictures online. Maybe we will come back and stay! You can't see the castle upon arrival, they take you in a bus up the hill so, I liked that it didn't ruin the surprise. They had little Tiaras for purchase and they give you a small prize when you complete the word puzzle they hand you. And event here would be cool. It would also be great if they had more drink or snacks for purchase but imagine that's in the works!! This was a costly project so, it will only get better!

So this was the second year for CastleFaire and it was even better than last year. It's not a huge…read morefaire by any means but it's growing. And well, you can't beat having it in a castle! Their location causes some logistical issues you don't have at most faires as there is no parking field. Most people have to park offsite and catch a free shuttle to the bottom of the mountain, then they drive you up to the castle. For those of us in full costume, the shuttle buses do add a level of complication we aren't used to but is definitely worth it If you like the Renaissance faire type events you need to go check this event out.
