While the coverage prices are lower and the policy does cover loss, theft, and other perils not covered by other policies........I will say our entire experience has taken over 1 month to repair, multiple visits to a repair facility, and on several times only got processed because I called them after the claim. The phone is still not fixed and it has taken around 30 days just to get the check which was an estimate from repair facility. Now we have to actually take the phone back for repair.... if the check actually come. Not worth the hassle and headaches..... pay a little more and get coverage that matters. read more

Odd that this has gotten so many bad reviews. I have used them since 2010 - hoping I would never actually have to use the insurance. Unfortunately, I did have to one time for one of my iphones (which fell into the toilet!) and it was no problem at all. I answered some questions about what had happened to the original phone and had to send them the damaged phone and the receipt for the new phone. They then sent me a check minus the $50 deductible. It was super easy. They didn't give me any trouble at all. I would recommend them to anybody! Especially since they're one of the only ones who cover theft/loss. READ THE FINE PRINT! You are buying insurance to get a REFURBISHED phone regardless of what your phone is worth or how old it is. My son broke his new iPhone XR about 4 months after he got it. [Entire back was shattered] We insured it for what we paid for it, but they would only reimburse us for a refurbished phone after pricing it on AMAZON!!! That is after I jumped thru all of their hoops for almost 2 months: took it to 3 different places to be told it can't be fixed; sent them quotes to replace it with a NEW phone from 3 different places including Apple [not Amazon]; then spent $60 to ship the broken phone to them with a receipt to ensure they didn't claim they didn't get it. IT WAS NOT ALWAYS LIKE THIS! We insured our phones with Worth Ave Group a few years ago and had a FANTASTIC experience which is why I used them again. Not sure what happened. My guess is they probably sell the broken electronics they insure to these places and get a cut of the resale. Do not buy here! I needed to cancel the insurance on my phones, went to the website and it says "no active policies"... Wait what? But I had to move so put off calling them till I was settled in. I get settled in and send them a contact email asking to stop billing and drawing their attention to the state of having no active policies. I mean, even if something happened, I couldn't claim because of it!! No word, so I email again and eventually about 4 weeks later (after another billing) they say to email them my info and policy numbers and they will refund back and stop billing. Guess what.. ANOTHER CHARGE so then I call on the phone and the customer service gal says "Oh yeah no problem you won't be billed again and you will see a refund" So another month passes, guess what. Bet you can guess. ANOTHER CHARGE!! Not sure how long these people intend to charge me for a service I am not getting. But I would think its criminal! Had to file with the BBB thats local to them. I don't leave many reviews but I'm making a point in this case because I've had nothing but positive experiences with Worth Ave, and I intend to continue doing business with them for the foreseeable future. I don't think there is a better option to insure your device. I live in the US and travel frequently for work so I purchase my phone without a plan at full price. I've made several claims over the past few years (both for theft and damage) and in each instance the service was courteous and prompt. While reimbursements aren't INSTANT, I'm well aware that these things take time to process and that payments are processed in batches, so some waiting is totally normal. As long as adequate and genuine documentation is provided, and your issue is something covered by the policy, you will be compensated. All in all, I'm pleased with this service and would recommend it to anyone who has an iPhone or other covered device. read more

I have "full coverage" on my phone. I dropped it. The screen shattered and the display no longer functions. I tried to file a claim online. I got the message "an error has occurred while submitting your claim", but it didn't tell me why the error occurred, or how to fix it. All fields were filled out correctly. I sent them a message on their website contact form. No answer. I contacted them via email. No answer. I called them, left a message. No callback. I called them. Was on hold for over an hour, finally someone picked up. I tell her I want to file a claim. She says, "you have to do it on the website." W!@#!$T!%F!%# I explain the error I was getting. I give her my policy number...apparently, they had issued a policy without taking my name, my phone model, or my serial number. She says, "who are you and what are we supposed to be insuring?" I could've literally said anything, but I gave her the correct information. Again, I tried to file a claim online. Still got an error. I finally figured out how to send in a claim form manually as per the instructions buried in the fine print their website. Claim adjuster gets back to me, says they need a repair estimate. I have to take the thing physically into a store to get inspected, because apparently the screen repair prices online aren't good enough. They tell me to go to BestBuy or uBreakifix. I go to BestBuy. They say "we don't do those repairs here." I go to uBreakifix. They say "Worth Ave sends us people all the time. We don't know why. We won't fill out an estimate for you like they are asking for. We don't do that." After hours trying to submit a claim, waiting on the phone, driving to multiple repair stores, I'm still trying to jump through hoops to get this !@#% claim accepted. DO NOT do this to yourself. Pay double for your carrier's insurance plan. You drop it, you walk into a store, they give you a phone the same day. This is an insurance nightmare. I can't remember ever being this dissatisfied with a service. I've had my policy a good long while, I filed a claim and was emailed with contact info for an adjuster and it said to email them at such address with questions which I did to no responses. I got Chat Help, they said that was never "my adjuster" they were just filling in. So she never emailed me to let me know to contact someone else, I was never told who my adjuster was, I was just ignored??? then I email "my adjuster" and she says I have to to a b and c. I ask several questions and she answered none of them. I say I will do ab and c, two days later I get an email saying my claim is denied before I even finished it because they sent everyone. I call in (quick to answer but TERRIBLE service) I spoke to probably 4 people each of them cut me off and spoke over me, no one listened at all. each of them told me I had to speak to the other. I talk to claims and say I want to cancel and get a refund, the service is ATROCIOUS, she says I have to talk to customer service, customer service lady 1 (actually pretty nice) no help, I speak to manager no help - very rude. They say I have to speak to claims, claims says I have to speak to customer service then they direct me to an answering machine. No replacement, no refund. Absolutely horrible company. I purchased insurance for my phone after it was recommended by my auto and home insurance company. Seemed like a great deal for phone insurance right? Was I ever wrong? After 2 weeks of back and forth, I was told I would not be recovered because my issue was from mechanical damage and not a drop or accident. I have zero ideas about what the issue is with the phone, I did not drop it, but who knows if its water damage or some other issue I'm not an expert I was just honest in telling them I did not drop it. They have a clause that was never informed to me that only covers accidental damage and nothing else. Never had this issue whatsoever with phone insurance. They just denied me and said good luck. 2 weeks of no phone and that's what I get for paying for phone insurance for a year and a half. Crooked and deceitful practices. The worst insurance I've ever purchased. I filed a claim in April and sent the phone in to The Repair Depot as advised. The phone was lost in transit. I was told by my claims adjuster that I had to file a police report even though I cannot collect the insurance from FedEx. I followed all the steps and now I have been told that I have to have the police report adjusted with the serial number and provide proof of ownership. I had switched from Asurion because of limitations on the number of devices covered with Verizon. Asurion never left you with no phone replacement for months. This company also pays you the value of a refurbished phone so the longer they wait to process my claim the less I will receive to buy a replacement. Don't buy this insurance. read more

I had one meh claim experience and one extremely disappointing claim experience. I cracked my phone screen, so I tried filing a claim. The first go around, I chose one of their "preferred" shops and when I was ready to drive there to drop it off I figured I'd call them first to make sure they were expecting me. Sure enough, they flat out told me they don't work with any insurance companies at all. I emailed my claim handler, verified the location, and she supposedly called and confirmed the request was at the facility. They still did not have any clue what I was talking about when I called them a second time. Rinse and repeat two more times before I gave up temporarily. It was extremely sketchy. All of my interactions with my claim handler felt oddly informal and didn't prompt any faith in the legitimacy of the company. The emails I received lacked punctuation and could have used spell check. I'm okay with that in casual correspondence, but a business email should look like a business email. I ended up waiting until after I moved to Oregon to try getting the repairs done again. They told me they had no preferred shops at all, even in a 50 mile radius from Salem, the state's capital less than 50 miles from Portland. Yikes. So it took over two months to complete the claims process and to be reimbursed for paying the repairs out of pocket. For fancy new phones, roughly $300 to repair lcd and glass. About a month later, my phone was stolen. Taken right out of my back pocket (not the best location, but girl pants have small front pockets) at the store. I didn't feel it happen, my phone was missing when I got to my car. Had it fallen, I would have heard it and I did not. My hands were full, so I didn't take it out at the store and set it down anywhere. I took the seats out of my car to make sure it didn't fall under them or in the unreachable crack between the seat and center console. Nothing. I went to file a claim a couple days later as I was hoping it might turn up at the mall. But it didn't, and Worthave said I needed a police report. Filed the report with as much information as I could (which was next to nothing aside from having been at the mall) and submitted the claim. They asked for a timeline a week later, which I provided to the best of my ability. After a week they asked for more information about the stores I went to, and then another week later I received notice of my claim being denied. I insured a Note 9 for $1200 for 2 years. My claim was denied because I didn't know when or where it was stolen, and the police report wasn't filed as soon as I found out it was stolen. They labeled it "mysterious disappearance," which, in the declarations page, is a carefully worded exclusion. Completely ridiculous. My first thought would not be to file a police report for something that I know will turn no results. It's pointless. For any other insurance it's basically just a formality for small things like this. So, apparently, unless you have enough information to catch the thief, don't expect to have a theft claim paid. Needless to say, I've canceled my policy. The cancelation process is less than appealing. You have to contact them to send you an email with 5 questions to answer to request cancelation, and then allow them up to 5 business days to process it. Worthave is a joke. I know some people have had good experiences here. But imagine how much better your experience could be at a company that doesn't do business like these clowns. Closest thing to a scam I've experienced that can still somehow legally call themselves a business. read more

Avoid! Worth Ave appears to be good deal but you will ultimately be disappointed for multiple reasons. Customer service is lousy and slow but more importantly they will not be there for you when you need it most. Don't confuse their coverage with the likes of Apple Care or even SquareTrade, Worth will not cover manufacturer defects. Worse, if you do try to make a claim for a manufacturer defects they will not cover any subsequent claims unless you have proof that the manufacturer's defect was repaired by an authorized repair facility. Recently Worth Ave Group refused to cover necessary repairs on my PC-tablet (Wacom Cintiq Companion2) even though it is still within the coverage period. I purchased a Cintiq companion tablet in 2015 for my contract work. Since this is an expensive piece of equipment, I also purchased insurance to protect my investment. A couple of weeks ago, my Cintiq's screen fried (likely a power surge) and I contacted Worth Ave Group. I was then told that there is nothing they can do since they don't cover mechanical failures. This policy was for "Full Coverage"!! When I asked the representative all the questions before purchasing this policy I was told that it would cover everything (and for that price I believed it!). The policy itself even is quoted as covering "Mechanical Failure and Manufacture Defect." However if you dig deep enough, the policy does not cover any of that, and the definition is completely different. Worth Ave Group policy coverage wording is strategically misleading. I would STRONGLY advise anyone thinking of purchasing a policy with them to absolutely reconsider, and definitely do your research. There are so many misleading terms and strange definitions in which they can get out of honoring their coverage. They are unethical and misleading. Hopefully this helps others avoid making the same mistake I made! read more

First they told me they wanted me to take the phone to a repair facility which I did and they found the phone to be damaged beyond repair due to water damage. Then I was told to reformat the phone before I sent it back to remove my personal information...also done. Then they emailed me that they couldn't access my phone do to a password protection....I gave them that. Now they're telling me the phone shows there was an abnormal reset and want my Samsung account password....I refused to do this. Don't use this business to insure anything! My sons school backpack was stolen out of my car. This is what there reply was to my claim.... Property in a personally owned automobile is covered, provided that the vehicle was locked and windows are fully closed at the time of theft and there was visible evidence of forced entry into the vehicle. Phone : LG G8X ThinQ Cost: $699 at the time of purchase I purchased a policy for my phone by paying a premium on a $699 valued phone. Everything was great when i signed up and they promptly answered all my queries and provided all the information i needed. A month or two later into my policy i dropped my phone on a rocky pavement while working on my truck. I quickly contacted Worth Ave Group claims department and was assigned a claims adjuster. I was asked to take my phone to a local repair shop to get an estimate but when i asked around no one had the replacement parts for my device. I was then asked to provide a proof stating the same and I provided that. At this point they asked me to mail in my device and pay for the shipping which will be reimbursed along with my phone replacement cost. I then received an email stating the below. Dear Policyholder, A check for the personal property claim you recently filed will be issued on 7/24/2020 via the U.S. Postal Service. Below you will find information about this reimbursement. This check represents the final payment for your claim submission. You may opt to replace where reimbursement was based at the following location: https://www.amazon.com/LG-G8-ThinQ-Unlock-Platinum/dp/B07V7H15KF/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=refurbished+lg+g8+thinq&qid=1595347404&sr=8-2 You are not required to purchase the device at the link provided. Problem: The phone provided in that link costs $299 is not even the same model of my phone and it does not support my carrier(Sprint). When i contacted the adjuster and explained that all I need is a fair evaluation of my phone so i can purchase a new or refurbished phone, she mentioned to me that actually she found the same exact phone on ebay for lesser that $299 and I dont have to buy this phone but this is based of what they are evaluating the cost of my phone. When I told her the used 3rd party selling phones on ebay are mostly stolen or fake and there is no guarantee this phone will activate or work with my carrier. It might even stop working after a month or two and then what happens? She responded by saying that this is all they can offer at the moment and there is nothing she can do. I called the customer service number and spoke to a supervisor that I will accept a fair evaluation on a refurbished phone which is offered DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER(usually comes with manufacturer's warranty) and not a 3rd party websites like ebay or gazelle where you dont know what you're getting. At this moment I realized that they are just scamming people by offering lower costs for higher priced phone when they know that you will never be getting that original premium you purchased the policy for. Progressive recommended this place for phone insurance, so I signed up my iPhone X. I've had it a few months never intended to use it, well happened to drop my cell this weekend and broke the screen. Submitted the claim, got an email Monday to send them a quote, quote sent Tuesday they said claim approved. Wow what a quick turn around. Will update in the future if needed. Stay away from this company. They will drag you along with one unreasonable demand after another. I tried to get a claim satisfied for my water damaged iPhone. They play the fatigue game by requiring you to get estimates, go back and forth, seemingly asking you questions to which they respond with more demands and more questions until you basically want to give up. It took a week to finally get the claim submitted to their claims department and then they wouldn't issue a check unless I sent them the worthless phone. Horrible Customer Service. Easy to purchase and offers loss and theft coverage (which was the most important part to me since I take good care of my phone and have never had any damages). If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been screwed TWICE by these guys. I should have learned the first time. They will find EVERY reason to not pay out. Most providers (verizon etc) will now cover for water damage / lost iPhone which was the only reason I was using them so there's NO reason to use companies like this. They require you to get estimates for repairs and prior approval, they don't pay out the value of the policy but rather the value of the phone based on purchasing it through 3rd party vendor like walmart, they make you pay the postage to send in the device when it's deemed nonrepairable and here is the kicker. They will still charge you for a policy on a phone they paid out on and required you to send to them in order to get the pay out. Unless you request a cancellation in writing. Oh and they dont tell you this when they send the payout check but expect you to infer that all policy cancelation requests must be made in writing that is in the original contract includes when you no longer have the phone because you gave it to them. Oh, and if you didnt make this ridiculous assumption, don't expect a courtesy refund. My experience with them has been horrific from start to finish. I wont mention the denial for coverage because of "mechanical failure" on another device. Don't be enticed by the low costs. The actual coverage is crap. read more

FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!!! PLEASE READ I had Worth Ave for over a year. I paid for $850 of insurance, which is an option when you purchase a policy...you can decide how much coverage you want and your policy costs will be reflected. My iphone6 plus broke when I dropped it many months into my policy. I called them, they required a "certified Iphone store" to verify the damage and then they would send a "refurbished equal value phone", which at that time was worth about $300. When asked why I paid twice the amount for $850 of insurance they couldn't answer me, just that the most I would get would be about $300. But the main issue...nearest certified iphone store was over 300 miles from me. So they wouldn't cover the claim. I paid to fix the phone out of pocket for about $200. Unrelated to that claim, I got an email from Worth in August, over a year since I started with them, saying my policy was cancelled, and I thought "good riddance, cheap company". Flash forward several months, I notice that I'm still being billed on my credit card every month. I log in, it says no policy. I rechecked my email from Worth and in August it says policy was over. So I email them, please stop billing me, and I get no answer. I call Discover Card, they refund the payments. Flash forward another 3 months, Worth is still billing me. I email them again. I go onto their website...suddenly on website I have a new policy that apparently was active since June, 2018, yet it is signed by someone there in January 2019. Remarkable how they thought this was legal to do. I call them, they say all of this was due to computer glitch, and yes, I still have a policy so I think, great I will file a claim for that old phone which was now a distant memory, I accidentally dropped it in a lake in Northern Wisconsin 2 months prior. Bought a new IphoneX. The old phone was Gone. Like many feet down in dark tannin water and history. I had witnesses. But since Worth says I was covered during that time (even though they just signed a policy in January, I decide to file a claim. Worth says without a police report they wont cover it. So I guess I was supposed to file a report against the lake for stealing my phone. So again, I ask Worth to cancel my policy and the only nice human being at that place, Mary P., she is a manager, she apologized for all of the hassle and confirmed with an email that my policy was cancelled and I assumed I was finally done with this horrible company. Flash forward 2 more months, I notice Worth is STILL billing my credit card!. I call the Mary's direct line, the one she said I could call if I had any other concerns and it says "this number is not authorized on your phone" and I get hung up on. Finally get through to someone on Worth named Gloria says sorry I will transfer you over to the manager and then she literally hangs up on me. I call back, wait on hold again, get the same woman, and she doesn't apologize, no explanation when I call her out for hanging up on me and transfers me to Mary who of course is out and I leave a message. I realize this is all over only $8.50/month, but think about what they are doing to all of the older people out there who have no idea that they are being scammed. They shouldn't be in business. I have had two claims this year unfortunately one was on a fairly new LG phone V10.. all I simply had to do after I dropped the phone and shattered the screen was go to an online repair provider ask them how much it would be to fix my screen they told me $199 they email me an invoice I forwarded that to Worth Avenue group a week later I had a check... the second claim I had was for a laptop that unfortunately dropped off my kitchen table it shattered the screen again they mailed me a box I sent it in they notified me that the laptop was not economically feasible to be repaired I just received the check for $700 an amazing company beats SquareTrade everyday that laptop I bought for $849 I received a zero deductible policy for $60 I was in the second year of it and I cannot be more happy and cannot recommend Worth Avenue group enough read more
