We were set to close and then found out the beginning of that week that they needed 1 more thing from us. Not sure why this wasn't asked for in beginning when they asked for all other documents. My family was so excited for this New chapter but thanks to RON it was shattered. How can he go ahead and approve someone andd have the closing dat we but wait til th e Monday before closing , which was set for that Friday. Horrible business management, Ron had a very cocky and " I know it all" demeanor to the point where he made us feel like we were lower the dirt. Bottom line is dont let this chump by the name of RON do your mortgage. All he cares about is getting his money and doesn't care how the customers outcome is. CLASSLESS, RUDE, ARROGANT, AND OVER ALL HES JUSY AN ASS HOLE. Let's not forget the $500 we had to pay him that was never spoken of until he screwed us over. Like I said ..he only wants money but when you have to go the route he did to get money it is obvious that your company isn't doing to well..Maybe change the name to "GEORGIA SHIT MORTGAGE" bc honestly there is nothing thay shows "platinum" from them.

It was a quick, two day process that was required by the home's builder to assure them we could afford the new home. Soon after the pre-approval we were lured into working with another mortgage broker by our real estate agent. The new mortgage broker and company (who will remain nameless) took all of our paperwork and presumably began the mortgage process for a closing four months later in mid July. Fast forward to the day before our four-month-scheduled closing date and the broker calls saying that they don't have the appraisal back and we won't be able to close as promised. Little did I know at that point that the appraisal, which was approved over a week later, was the least of my worries. Did I mention that our mover was ready to deliver our cross country household items the day after the scheduled closing? Everything had to go into storage... I was mad as a hornet, and three days after the scheduled closing the broker offered to pay for our storage in transit, and when asked if I should be considering another mortgage company he said, "I would". That's when I called Regions Bank and "Superman", aka Scott Shapiro. Scott had remained in touch since March, and really wanted our business. He said that if he received our paperwork and loan app he would get the pre-approval again. If that went well he would try to settle in three weeks. We were excited to have the word "hope" back in our vocabulary. Mr. Shapiro communicated with us regularly about our loan's processing status, and while the other guys were continuing to dilly dally processing the loan Scott became more and more confident that Regions could settle in only two weeks. What I learned in this process is that post-2008 meltdown it is critically important that you create and maintain a close relationship with your mortgage broker/contact. It is even more important that your mortgage broker/contact has a lot of experience and is tight with his/her processors to facilitate an expeditious approval. Also, while working with brokers is not necessarily a bad thing, we found that working with a direct lender like Regions made all the difference. Well, nine working days after we submitted our loan package to Scott "Superman" Shapiro and the mortgage professionals at Regions Bank the loan was fully approved. We closed the next day, on August 8th, ten days from start to finish. Truly amazing!!! The first company made our mortgage process a gut wrenching ordeal, and Scott truly saved the day. I can't say enough about Scott Shapiro, his professionalism, how accountable he is, how well he communicates and how he can execute a plan. His skills are truly exceptional, and I would recommend him and Regions Bank to ANYONE looking for a home loan.
