This was an interesting look into rural Alaska living. I booked our transportation, cabin, and two day tours with a call (and a series of emails) to this helpful young lady. The trip from Anchorage to McCarthy is advertised as being 8 to 9 hours but we actually got there in 7. It is easy to see how every person's trip to McCarthy would be perceived differently. I loved this little town and the scenic drive to get there. We were there late in the season and we were the only traveler's on the bus. Needless to say it was not crowded. read more
