Hubby & I had dinner here last night for the second time during our trip. We sat outside again. Only this time we were the only customers for a lit while. Hubby loved the fish tacos so much he got them again. This time I got the fish sandwich & asked for crinkle fires. My fish sandwich was so good. The fish was moist & flakey, but the breading was perfectly crispy. Excellent service, food & drinks! read more

This is kinda the archetype for "beach bar" for me.......its basically a giant place to get potted with your friends and new ones, on one of the nicest beaches in the area. Prices are slightly above local rates, but the atmosphere is worth every peso.......which you should also pay with, because the discount is worth it. (Look for Banorte bank machines) Service here is top notch! It is always there, but never annoying. They expect you're gonna come and spend the afternoon or day.......and you will want to! All of their food is pretty decent......but I come for burgers and beer. A guy can only eat so much Mexican seafood.......(ok, a LOT!).......but this place has the juciest and tastiest simple burgers that I have ever had, anywhere. I do t know what they use, I do t care. been coming here since the early 90's and it was the place to be! Great food, great drinks and great prices ... back then. Today, they are way overpriced and the food is not that great. Went there recently and ordered 3 tacos with rice and beans and they were cold, blah and $18. This really sucks because they are walking distance from where we stay. Other than going there for a quick beer and maybe watching a band, we will not be going back. read more

What a wonderful place. I mean, it is the small things for me. Great service awesome cocktails (I opted for the spicy margarita and shots of tequila! ) Just all around great vibes here. Live music twice a day. Plenty of food to try as well. Volleyball Cornhole plus much more. We didnt try much food but chips and salsa! Oh! if people watching is your thing plenty to see here. Here is one of those times a half star would be helpful. I want to do a 3.5 but have to go with a 3. This is our first trip to Puerto Penasco and Wrecked at the Reef was frequently recommended. It wasn't too far from where we were staying and it says that it's good for groups (we had 11 people). You walk through the indoor bar area first and then out to a massive outdoor eating area right on the beach. There were plenty of places to get tables and chairs together for a big party. Our waiter was quick to get us all drinks. The sodas are the canned sodas. We ordered pretty soon after getting there but the food did take quite a while to come out. We killed time by browsing the offerings of the vendors on the beach and taking some pictures by the water as the sun was setting. We ordered the combo basket, fried shrimp and fish and it came with potato wedges. The shrimp was nice and plump and the fish (flounder) was nice and flaky. We really enjoyed it. We also got a chips and salsa. The salsa was flavorful, smoky, not hot/spicy. Our kids got the chicken basket and it was mixed reviews, mostly positive though. Here is where it kinda took a turn. After we were done eating and asked for the check, it took a long time for the bill to come. Then when we went to pay, we realized the exchange rate was 16 to 1 so we had to use credit instead. There were issues with the cards processing and it was contentious exchange. It really soured an otherwise mostly enjoyable experience. The other downside of the experience were the bees. The canned sodas or open sodas were the bees. Our table was getting swarmed by bees and bees were getting in the cans. We had to try and cover the tops to keep the bees out. I get its outdoor eating and bugs aren't necessarily the responsibility of the establishment, but mitigation measures would be helpful. read more

I'm very uncomfortable doing this but I want to be honest and you just need to know. Went to Wrecked last weekend and it seems like stuff is changing. Maybe changing all over town. Had a real hard time paying for three tacos, crappy rice and beans and everything came out cold and cost $18.... The one thing they had on the menu we loved was the beef chimi and they took that off. Service was good. Ambiance is good cuz you have the ocean. But food and drinks are very overpriced. Our friends and us stay at the reef RV Park and they no longer go there and we go to a different pub down the road. And I know what people are going to say.. You pay for the ocean view. No, I pay for the food and it's not that good and it's all overpriced. read more

Hot spot for tourists. We just came for drinks. Beautiful beach seating area. Ivan was an awesome server. I tried the Missyrita which was bitter and horrible. The ambiance is a 10/10 but honestly the management was rude and non supportive of our desire to have food and drinks remade without paying for more. We didn't even eat our food or drinks. SO. MUCH. FUN. I can't believe I never knew about this place. The view from the tables outside is gorgeous! Also, I have never been to a beach with so many beautiful and in tact shells. The food and drinks are great prices and the staff is so nice. It is typical bar food but still good. There are a lot of vendors you can buy things from or you can just play in the beautiful clear water. I loved that it was a private beach so you could bring your drinks with you into the water. My first time ever to Rocky Point and of course I had to see what the hype is all about! It's always been know to be THE place to go! Location was walking distance-a little dusty walk-away from our hotel. Greeted by security at the door and a bar full of serving staff, all so friendly. The place is huge with tables inside and outside, beach front with a live band! Our server Denny was so friendly and always around to help with refills on drinks and or food, which was delicious. The food was okay. The servers were nice and the service was good, but it took a while to get our fried food. A say it took a while, but we (4) were the only customers in the building the entire time we were there. I had the coconut and bacon wrapped shrimp. My wife had the flounder fish platter, nothing special about it. It all arrived slightly warm. That's a tough one to explain considering what I have already mentioned in the review. We sat inside since it was windy and a bit chilly. Maybe our timing was bad. My friend had the burger and was happy with it. They also had oysters and loved them. I'm not a fan so I did not try them. This place is an amazing place to eat, drink and party right on the beach. We are staying next door at The Reef RV Park, so we can safely walk to and from Wrecked, even when we are wrecked! You can dine outside on the sandy beach, on the patio or inside. We've eaten there many times for brunch and dinner, and the food has always been good really good. The Hangover special comes with two huge breakfast burritos - plenty for two and they paired well with bloody Mary's. We have also had tacos, chili rellenos, nachos, seafood, guacamole, etc. This is the perfect place to watch the sunset, too! They have a volleyball net and several corn hole games, so it's family-friendly. At night it's an adult playground with really good live music and dancing. We almost never go out dancing, but this place makes it impossible to sit! The band plays a great variety of music and the crowd really gets into it. This is a super fun place to eat, drink and dance. So fun! read more

Always a good time .. we showed up on Sat and there was a 20 min wait for a table and a two hour wait for food!! We stayed anyway .. we got a prime table by the outside stage where we partied with the band America who played mostly 80s music! We ordered food first to get the order in queue and then drinks. Omar was our server .. he was awesome, he checked on us often. Food took about 45 min but they warn you it could take a while. . Set the expectation and over deliver!! Everyone is welcome here, kids, dogs, people of all ages ... the food is good, the vibe is amazing! Don't forget to buy a tshirt or bumper sticker on your way out! If you want ambience and Huntington beach, CA style atmosphere this is the place for you. This place has corn hole, and a view of the beach. Ambience 5/5. The food is subpar especially when we had to cover our food from sand. Food 2/5. The service we received was horrible. Where was Gerry? He was with the other tourist group with the blondes. I think this is a staple on Sandy Beach! Great location and fun atmosphere with live music in the sand overlooking the Ocean! We stopped on a Sunday afternoon forgetting there was a Sun's Playoff game going on, and it was packed!! Luckily it was the 4th Quarter and orders must have been slowing down as the waiter told us 40 minutes, but it was more like 15-20...... Surprisingly good food, great atmosphere..... The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and dining on the beach was so, so nice. This spot is such a fun atmosphere! The menu was clear, and the staff was knowledgeable about ingredients in sauces, etc, so it was easy to manage my dietary restrictions. Plan to arrive before you are actually hungry, and drink and hang out while you wait for your food! We went with the kids on Thursday night and ended up having to leave and feed them on our own because the wait went on over an hour. This restaurant is doing very well in their handling of things during COVID-19. They are taking every precaution they can to provide a safe environment for everyone. They test your temperature before you enter, give you hand sanitizer and sanitize your shoes. All patrons must wear masks unless you are seated at your table. The staff all wear gloves, face masks, and a face shield. They also are using one use paper menus for both their food and their drinks. All of their tables are social distanced apart. They even have different staff that take your order, deliver your food, take away items and handle payment. All of these measures make you feel very safe in visiting this establishment. Their hours are unexpected, but they tend to be open on the weekends, I believe Thursday through Sunday for the most part. Their guacamole and chips are delicious and it is quite a big portion. All of their mixed drinks are very well done and are very tasty. They have a decent selection of beers and they are very affordable. One of the best things about this place is the atmosphere. There is nothing like enjoying your food and drinks with a gorgeous view of the ocean. This is one of our favorite stops in Puerto Penasco and we look forward to it every time. During the day it is very kid friendly and our whole family enjoys it. First of all, Wrecked is hands down the most beautiful bar I've seen in my entire life. It looks like something out of a Sandals Resorts commercial or a movie set--everything from the stage to the seating to the sand is absolutely pristine. The entertainment is top notch as well. One of the most talented cover bands I'd seen in quite some time. At one point, they played Sweet Home Alabama, if you need a clue to what sort of vibes the clientele give off. They have a mask policy but it's just for show and you don't have to worry about it. They make you wear one to enter, but once you're in you'll realize it's not enforced at all. And honestly, the drinks are not that good. They're not terrible, but simultaneously the most expensive and the most mediocre around. On paper I shouldn't like this place so much, but again, it's gorgeous. It is a 6 out of 5 on atmosphere. You will feel cool for making it here. You absolutely have to visit! read more

We had a blast, I went back twice. One day we sat outside on the sandy beach bar the following day we sat indoors and then sat outdoors for a while so we can watch football and soak up the sun.. People were fantastic, nice and cold drinks. Restaurant is very spacious, lots of high tops, low seating, seating at the bar area. Outside, a fantastic band was playing, beach volleyball, and corn hole. The weather was beautiful to watch TV sports. Great beach area next to a RV park. Gift shop. I WOULD RECOMMEND. read more
