Upon my Nationwide automotive retail website search, I stumbled upon a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 listed by Sunset Auto Sales & Classics. I couldn't believe the Mileage, Condition and Price the vehicle was posted for, so as the ad stated, I called "Whacky Wayne!" Upon reaching the man himself and having some southern gentlemanly small talk, we got to business! Wayne explained the history of the vehicle in detail and verified all my doubts were reasonable, but not worthwhile. As I later found Wayne and company are genuine enthusiasts and know more than just the spec sheets. The man is full of knowledge though he will modestly deny so. Seeing as the vehicle was located quite a few states away I discussed my logistical issue and the fact that I didn't want to make the trip to see the vehicle unless we had a general understanding on pricing and vehicle condition, Wayne kindly obliged and we struck a deal I was comfortable flying down to GA for on short notice. Wayne again kindly offered advice on flight cost (As the masters were shortly coming and pricing would spike), pickup and drop off from the airport to assist me in cost and time. Talk about Southern Hospitality!? Just a few days later I was in Augusta being picked up by the man himself. Had I known how busy this man is, I might have offered to Uber/Lyft myself over, but Wayne made no mind of it. The Car. Upon arrival to the dealership, all my doubts left and he gave me the time and space I wanted to verify the car was in the condition I aspired for it to be. IT WAS! A genuinely MINT condition 09' C6 Z06. We again discussed our position on the price which was very reasonable for the car and he assured me that if I was set on purchase, my word was good enough and that once I get back to CT we will deal with taking care of the finances and logistical problems (as I had to have the car shipped back to CT rather than driving). After introducing me to the team at Sunset Auto Sales, back off to the airport we went and Wayne even made time to grab lunch. Did I mention this was all done in one day? Multiple calls(and I mean A LOT) to discuss the finance and logistic issues were answered quickly and promptly at all times of the week. Wayne's suggestion on a respectable transport company led to a safe transport. Wayne with the assistance of "Madd Missy" helped me through the issues I had at my local DMV and gave me multiple avenues of contact to get any and all issues straightened out. Guess what? My local DMV didn't know, but Missy had sent all the correct paperwork, the teller at the DMV just didn't understand her job well enough. Haha I'd like to thoroughly thank Wayne, Missy and Chris for running a great and extremely hospitable organization down there in Thompson, GA. Feel confident as I am writing this review, that they will take the grandest of care of their customer.

The mid-pipe connects to the muffler with 2 bolts that clamp the gasket and the 2 pieces together. Remember that, literally just 2 bolts. One bolt had rusted clean through, and I knew I would not be able to get it out myself so I called Thomson CDJR. The service advisor stated to "Come in and we will throw it on a lift to see what needs to be done" I rearrange my entire week to get there one morning before work and the first thing I am greeted with is a $100 "diagnostic charge." 1) I already know what is wrong and 2) The service advisor said nothing of this on the phone. As my ride was idling in the parking lot, I begrudgingly handed over my keys. About 2 hours later I get a call stating that it will cost over $500 to fix! I ask why so much, and they quote 2 hours of labor at $225 an hour (Yikes!) and then about $75 in parts and "supplies." They know I am captive now and I can either say no and get my leaky truck back or say yet to their extortion. I regretfully accept their terms hoping the repair would be a good on...WRONG! I get the truck back and they drilled out the rusted bolt and the mounting holes/threads on both exhaust parts and threw in some harbor freight bolt to hold it all together. This took, at an absolute max, 30 minutes to do. What they billed and what they did are not the same thing. To add insult to this I asked them to check on a water leak and they recommended repair in the thousands to replace a completely unrelated part. In summary, their billing is a scam, the quality of service is poor, and their diagnostic ability is nonexistent. Bring your vehicle elsewhere.

Carmax has been too busy, appointments are 2-3 months out for a repair through the warranty. The only repair shop that accepted Assurant was 1 1/2 hours away from me. I had to file a formal complaint against the repair shop with Assurant the mechanic did such a horrible job with a simple repair. I have had to use outside mechanics to fix the repairs. However, Assurant finds every loop hole possible to deny a claim. I don't believe Carmax did their 125 point inspection on the van I bought. Had they done the inspection, the short in my van would have been discovered. Instead, I have had five breakdowns requiring immediate towing. Carmax service department has not even returned the last few calls I made trying to get an appointment for repair under the warranty. I find the majority of mechanics do not wish to deal with Assurant Warranty as it is too time consuming and the representatives have been rude and not well trained and are quick to deny coverage. I bought a car in Los Angeles from Carmax and had a great experience. However, this Carmax in Augusta, GA, does not even come close to the same standards.

The technician pointed out that everything under the hood had been therally cleaned but there was still evidence of leaking in the Joses and gaskets that were attached to to major components of the vehicle. Long story short the vehicle needs roughly $2000 in repairs. If you buy any trade-ins from this establishment, be sure to get a diagnostic done during test drive because they will clean up and try to hide any faults it may have and sell you the vehicle at highest possible price!
