I came to Wright & Filippis to get my new prosthetic. Now that I am on Medicare i choose the Dearborn location as it is nearest to my home. Tony and David have been working with me and I have to say I couldn't be happier with the wonderful knowledge and service of th two men. The last company that I got my prosethic from measured me and brought the leg to my home and it never came back. Tony and David have explained everything from start to finish to maKe sure I felt comfortable and that my new leg fit properly. If Medicare gave me the option to go anywhere else I'd would, even if I had to drive 40 miles one way. This company isn't the manufacturer of their equipment they provide, they only gather information, which your own doctor could provide, and basically put you in the equipment, which your doctor could also do. I really, really, really don't see a need for this company. One only has to look at their return policy (as soon as the device touches skin, they will not accept a return..ummm it's medical equipment how do you know it doesn't fit until you try it on?) why even offer a return policy? I've been through two (2) sets of shoes in less than 2 months, these are diabetic shoes, these are supposed to prevent damage to my feet and ankles, and yet my feet have both taken a GIANT leap backwards since I put on these Customer made shoes (only $300 of which I paid $150 for) My right foot had completely healed and wearing their shoes within 1 day my right foot developed a massive blister under my skin, and I walked less than a typical grocery store shopping experience in them. Since then the shoes tread wear down at increased speeds, the right foot looks like it's sliding off the right side of the boot, out of 1-10 I'm going to give these shoes a solid -3. I could have gotten the same quality if I ordered my boots from WISH. Com, Temu would have been an upgrade, hell Walmart would be like buying a pair of Red Wings compared to what the hell they gave me. read more

Herniated disk. It took 1 week before we could get an appointment with a "fitter". At the fitting - the brace was in stock but they told us we couldn't have it. They need more documentation from the doctor because we have high deductible insurance. They said it could take 2 more weeks before it's processed. We said we would pay the full price out of our own pocket. They said they could not do that because they have a "contract" with our insurance company prohibiting that. Herniated disk. Brace is in stock. Yet 3 weeks of back pain. read more

Horrible staff. I wish there is less than one star to give as a review because one star is too much for this store. I was referred to that place to get the right size of Thigh High stock which I need to wear right after medical procedure at my doctor clinic scheduled for the next days. I showed one of the employees at Write & Filippis the doctor request. I was told to wait in the waiting room. After long hours of waiting, someone took me to another room to do the required measurements. The measurements were performed very fast. Based on the measurement results, I was given the sock which was very expensive comparing to the other stores. At the day of the scheduled procedure, I took the stock with me to my doctor clinic where I was told that It was not the right size. Thank God they have my size available at the doctor office and they gave me that free. In the next day, I took the wrong sock to Write & Filippis store to return it. The minute I talked to one of the staff there about returning the wrong sock, she said we don't return open item. I told her I never touch or open the box and you can see that. She went to the office and told me to sit and wait in the waiting room. I was in my lunch break and I have to wait for more than hour with no reply. I stand and told one of the staff there "How long should it take to return an item? I am in my lunch time and I need to go back to work". The manager came and told me didn't they tell you these items are not returnable? I said no one told me that and it is your mistake you gave me the wrong item based on your wrong measurements and this item still in its original box not open. She refused to return it. Question if you go to a company that ONLY is a medical device company, and you HAVE to use them by BCBSM, don't you think when you get orthotics from them they check and see how they fit in your shoes, how you walk in those orthotics, if there is any rubbing from your foot in the shoe? If it causes any pain from what you ordered? To be more than a Service Merchandise store, or an actual Medical Device Specialty store? If you go HERE for your medical devices, you owe it to your pocketbook, your own wellness, your health to look for a different company, I could have ordered my orthotics from Amazon and receive the same level of care, and not charge my insurance that bill. Have your FOOT doctor review EVERYTHING this company gives you, as a diabetic my feet are EVERYTHING, since picking up my new equipment my feet hurt, I've had the new orthotics for less than a week, my feet didn't hurt before coming here, I get to pay a $40 charge to go to my foot doctor to see why my feet hurt, because this company didn't do its basic level of care. I feel like being duped by this company, my new Diabetic shoes a complete joke, HIKING boots with tennis shoe soles, even after speaking with a specialist from this company that ASSURED me the boots would have boot tread, tennis shoes don't support in MUD, SNOW, ICE, WATER. You will think they do then slip and either break or pull something from those death trap "boots" they might look like boots but your gonna fall. read more

After making an appointment 2 weeks in advance, we went in to discover there was no appt. on the books. While we were standing there the registrar checked with the person we were to see and she was too busy too take us that day. She set up another appt for 8AM the following work day. When we got there, the hours posted on the door said they didn't open until 8:30. We wondered why they would create an appt for a time when they weren't even open. A little disgruntled we decided to wait. But alas, they did not have an appt for us on the schedule that day either. No apology, no attempt to make it right. Do not use this company for their products. The orthotist was good at the Warren location that I went to, but the office staff and the main office staff is rated poor at best. First, they gave me an appointment date and time. When I arrived they told me it was the next day. I write everything down so I know they screwed up. They take the measurements for my brace on December 16th. It is now January 5th and they still haven't processed the order. They leave phone messages, but don't tell you they need a down payment, because they say they can't. They don't tell you to call them back. Lousy company to have to work with. Who knows when I will get my brace. read more

I moved to Metro Detroit about a year and a half ago and it came time to get new AFO's. I initially made an appointment, and they were able to fit me in at a very reasonable period of time. Jake was very knowledgeable and informative. Once we got the casting, there was some confusion between my primary care physician's office and Wright and Filippis. Jake informed my physicians office exactly what the prescription needed to say and take care of the issue himself. I received constant updates from Wright & Fillipis with sincere apologies from Jake and other office staff. When I received my final set of AFO's, they needed some modifications, which Jake quickly did while I waited in the office. These are my first pair of AFO's in approximately 15 years and I could not be happier. I will be going to the Ferndale office for many years to come. Thanks so much Jake! read more

This place apparently is making too much money. Does not care for the customer. I needed a particular item and I had to go in to show the script just to make an appointment for a week later just for a fitting. Seriously?? No one could do this now??? Had 4 people sitting there and no one could measure anything? So stupid!! Went somewhere else...walked in and got taken care of and got my item right away. If you want good customer service, go to Binson's - they will treat you with respect and help you right away! At Wright's, they could care less about you. Won't be going there again! I had procedure on my veins I needed compression stockings fast? I went in office to get measured I'm a normal size I was told by doctor and 2 office workers they would be delivered in a few days? Waiting and waiting when you call every person has a different story.the best is I was told they didn't bill insurance I was there 12-20-17 the purpose was tear end deductible?they want my new insurance today is 1-4-18 still nothing? Horrible company I would never ever go there again I will tell everybody not to go? My doctor I went to gave a list of medical supply companies I spoke with office manager and doctor they are removing them from list.i was told I wasn't the first to complain about wright and fiilippis I wish there never went there. I will wait and see how long they take to get my Compression stockings (just curious) I don't need them anymore I ordered on line and received in 3 days? It's nearly impossible to work with these people. There is always a wait, difficulty getting the correct items, difficulty with customer service, difficulty with everything. They make no effort to help you solve an obstacle to getting what you need (better scheduling, even simply passing along messages to other personnel) in a timely manner. It seems they are more interested in their convenience than that of the customer. Unfortunately, with them having the lock on Medicare orthotics we are all stuck with them and they know it so there is no incentive for them to do a better job. Under other insurances where there is choice, I NEVER use WF at any location for any service because their customer service is so terribly poor. read more
