I called these folks a few weeks back to come provide a quote for a bunch of electrical work at my house in New Monterey.... I need a new main panel, light fixtures, 240 volt circuit for dryer, some patio lights... really a bunch of things. A nice lady answered the phone and we scheduled an appointment for 2 PM, three days hence. I had to come home early from work for this appointment but figured it was worth it because they have good reviews. Anyhow, nobody showed up. I called at 3 PM and again at 3:30 PM and nobody answered... very odd. I waited a few days and tried calling again around noon to see if I could schedule another time for my quote, left a voicemail and again no answer and no call back. Very disappointing experience. This company is obviously very disorganized. I believe many of the positive reviews on here about this company are fake, given my poor experience. read more

Leslie was caring, professional, and truly 'earned' my business by promising on that first call that we would indeed receive the excellent and honest service that I was looking for! Wright electric timely did this job, gave us a bunch of tips on the wiring of the rest of the house, and also removed a series of legacy left over wires in the house whose purpose we did not understand. Kody gave us a call to inform us before arriving which we find convenient to allow us to wrap up any work meetings we are on. I personally remodeled my kitchen during the summer of 2017. The only item I didn't want to mess with was a 220v receptacle for our oven/range and the rewiring of an existing outlet for our microwave. I called five electricians. One never called back. One was over an hour late with no call. Two tried to sell me things I didn't want. One got the job and then was fired because he BS'd me about calling the city and PGE for approval. A month passed with no updates. I called PGE and the city, nothing had been started. I stumbled across Kody and his team at Wright Electrical Company here on Yelp. He showed up on time, listened to what I wanted, and made reasonable recommendations. He completed the job efficiently and left the area in better condition than it was in when he started. All of the other electricians told me I'd be responsible to do some drywall patch work for a part of the job. I never discussed it with Kody because I thought that was standard procedure after hearing it multiple times. To my surprise, the hole was patched and seamless. Above and beyond my expectation. The kitchen was completed in August. We received our appliances and the installers from the Big Box store goofed up the wiring on the oven. It arch welded the terminals of the 220v receptacle Kody installed. They replaced it, but it wasn't seated well. Kody came by, checked it and fixed it as a courtesy. He explained exactly what happened with their wiring. I knew I had found my electrician. My kitchen work was an entry project to find my electrician. Knowing I had a reliable company, I pursued my next more costly electrical need, replacing the original 1959 100 amp "fire starter" Federal Pacific service panel. I had received bids from all of the kitchen remodel electricians for the panel back when they bid on the 220v receptacle. Kody/WEC was right in the middle of the quote range. Once I gave him the green light he contacted PG&E the next day regarding a gas line and if I'd have to move the panel. He received approval for placement within a week and coordinated with the city for appropriate permits. The panel process was an all-day event with several follow ups for city inspection, stucco layers, and labeling. The panel is complete and looks like it belongs there. All of his employees were professional and well spoken. I can rest assured knowing I have a panel that will function properly and safely for my family. The stucco work is exceptional and everything was replaced as discussed. They most recently installed an exterior 110v outlet for my Prius Plug-In. The install is clean and exactly what I was looking for. I didn't provide any guidance. I simply arrived home and it was better than expected. Consistent with all of the other work. Above all else, I loved that I could communicate with him via text. Kody and WEC will be my go-to electrician for anything applicable. Now if only I could find the same in tree service. read more

He took his time to figure out what was beeping in our house, disconnected the culprit, installed a new smoke detector for us and answered all our questions with extreme patience and provided all the information we needed. Their phone was answered on first call, and an appointment was scheduled for the estimate the next day. Adam came out right on time during some pretty bad weather, unfortunately the power was out in our whole neighborhood. He looked over the job of installing a Tesla connection in my garage and gave me an instant quote. I agreed and he told he needed to grab a component and he could do it right then! Twenty minutes later he returned and had the whole job completed within an hour! Very professional and paid attention to details while having to do an installation in those conditions. Only issue was he couldn't actually check it because of the outage but assured me he had done it correctly. When the power came back 20 hours later I checked it and it worked flawlessly, even the orientation of the socket was correct. I highly recommend them. read more

Six stars . This is long so sit down. For a year we looked for a fixer upper on the Monterey Peninsula . We found one that was cosmetically great but mechanically neglected . We wanted it and figured mechanics would be easier than cosmetics cuz no fight over which color, which faucets ,which cabinets etc.. House was built in 1941 so electrical was "Knob and tube" .Scary to some but terrifying to INSURANCE CO.s ! No one would touch the house except AAA. and they said you have 60 days to rewire the whole house,1800 sq ft. , and if not they are out . Enter Kody Wright owner of Wright Electric. We explained to him our dilemma and he explained our options .We waited two weeks for them to clear their calendar and went with a time and material bid cuz no way of knowing what they will find til the cut open the house . He gave us a range of price and time to do the job . It took twice as long because of a crawl space only 18" tall but Kody stayed within the price range . Everything worked great , looked great( repair of plaster walls) etc . Kody's family is in the const business so when we moved on passed electrical we used his connections ( brother-in-laws ) for paint, insulation, french drain , pest remediation Etc . I live in an est. 70 year old house. The wiring is original. The outside fuse box original also and when it rained one breaker would often pop and power down the middle of the house would be out. Finally, tired of it, I spent the $3k to have the old box torn out of where it was built into the stucco wall, and complete new piping, wiring and new equipment installed. Work was done successfully, the two electricians were highly skilled, very polite and did a great job of cleaning up after done. Even did painting to make things look just that much nicer.
