The World Trade Center in Rotterdam is a great office and exhibition space. Mum and I were here for the latter, as the World Press Photo 2018 Winners were being exhibited here, and as soon as we walked into a building, there was a staffer standing in the foyer (apart from a reception with two people manning the desk) and the staffer provided us with great directions on how to get to the Photo Exhibition.
There was a separate and direct elevator to the 3rd floor, where this exhibition was located, and we came into the foyer, paid for our tickets, hung up our coats, and then entered a second, very obviously multipurpose room with soaring ceilings, a balcony and beautiful wood inlays, with floor to ceiling windows, and so a perfect setting for displaying the World Press Photos.
We'd come on Saturday afternoon, and so the exhibiting was massively busy, and so while at times hard to navigate around people to see the photos and read the description, overall it was well laid out. The photos that stuck out in my mind were:
1) Disturbing seeing the photos of the Macau monkeys that were anthropomorphized in Japan
2) Juxtaposition of Spanish kids who want to be bullfighters right next to portrait series of the girls Boko Haram who kidnapped
3) The Bangladesh Rohinga horrer - this big-eyed kid who was beseeching an Aid worked for food
The Center was easy to navigate and had great restrooms. If there was another exhibition being held here, I would absolutely return
