What makes it stand out from the other HEB stores is the prepared foods and a couple of food booths that you can find in the store. I usually visit H-E-B Central marketplace, to purchase some of my Christmas sides and entrées. They also have the delicious pies at H-E-B sells but with some twists. For example, one of their fruit pies is in four different fruit selections. Service, of course, is up to Heb standards so spectacular and this one has the Christmas feel for me. The prices are a bit higher than another HEB, but the selection is different, as well. This makes it ideal for trying to find items that might not be sold in other HEBs.

It's way more "manageable" than bigger H-E-Bs, & while they might not have the obscure organics or artisanal offerings of a Central Market or other H-E-B's, this store is a hidden gem. The shelves are always stocked, the aisles are always clear, & the associates are always happy & quick to help. I pretty much know where everything is, but the few times I've wandered aimlessly looking for something, fellow shoppers -- mostly older & wiser -- have helped me find whatever it is I'm hunting down. I've always preferred small grocery stores to large ones, & I really have a soft spot for this one. Maybe because I grew up in the area, or maybe I just like how leisurely a shopping trip here is; I enjoy my time spent here, & I think it's a nice change of pace from the Walmarts & Targets of the world. A pro-tip: the H-E-B app is a great help for a store as condensed as this one (& any H-E-B in general). It tells you aisle by aisle if they have something you want in stock, so you can save time, gas, & energy if you need something in a pinch.

The lady at the counter said no way without the receipt. I had purchased the ham a week earlier for cash and didn't keep the receipt, but the label showed clearly it came from walmart. They called the manager, same result. I was NOT a happy person, finally called the number on the ham and explained my problem while standing with the manager. The lady on the phone said VERY CLEARLY that i should get my refund via a gift card. The ONLY amusing thing was that a sign behind the customer service desk said, returns could be accepted with or WITHOUT a receipt. I pointed it out to the manager, she just turned and walked away. I WILL NEVER BUY GROCERIES AT NEW BRUNSFEL WALMART AGAIN, NOTHING!

When she got home and checked the ingredients, she noticed the expiration date was 12/25/25 -- already expired. She took it back to customer service and was given a hard time about getting a refund or even an exchange. After some back and forth, the manager finally agreed to let her exchange it. When she went back to the meat section, she noticed the entire brand was expired -- every single package dated 12/25/25. She grabbed ten of them and brought them to the manager, asking why expired meat was still being sold. No explanation. So, moral of the story: don't buy food at Walmart without checking the expiration date first.

On Superbowl Sunday morning, I had a blowout on a tire and dropped off just the tire since I had put on the spare. Unfortunately, when I dropped it off, I didn't tell them it was going to need a new tire, so the person who took it wrote it up as a repair. When I showed up to pick it up, the tire wasn't fixed. They had to get the Team Lead, Jon, to help me. After hearing from me, he helped me pick a tire, checked me out, and then personally put on the tire on my rim. He helped me, even though I was the one who had made the mistake at dropoff. I just wanted to share how thankful I was for the level of service I received. It was above and beyond the call of duty.

They found (and i saw it with my own two eyes) a bubble on the front tire. So the employees did not check the tires like they said. Both front tires needed to be replaced. Do better Walmart!! This one is now the flagship NB HEB! This HEB is one of the few ones to have the new home section of HEB. It's got some furniture, housewares, decor, things that you don't usually see at a grocer. The produce section here is one of the best around. It's giant, fresh, and has lots of room to display the fresh produce. It looks great. The butcher and fishmonger are similar- oversized, and lots to see. It's got the HEB BBQ in it. This stuff is serious BBQ. Huge portions, slow smoked all night long by Texas' premier purveyors of meat. These guys have some BBQ chops and street cred. This alone is worth checking out. The seasonal section always has fun stuff. My favorite thing about this HEB is the clearance section which is back by the pets section in the back of the store. Here, you'll find some of the best deals- 50%+! Parking is easy now that they've expanded the new lot and tore down the older, smaller HEB. It's visible from I-35.
