Located near our hotel (lucky us) but it would be a quick walk from the metro. Only seats available were at the bar... so happy we took them! Bartender was helpful from beer selection to our meals. Food was wonderful - we are only here ten days but will go back. Both of chose the chicken schnitzel - one with lemon and one with hollandaise, onions and cheese (ya gotta love cheese to pick this) ... they were both great. We liked the potato chunks (name?) over the noodle potatoes... we will try the French fries next time. We were relaxed and attended to, but not rushed or forgotten. Highly recommend!

This place was our "plan B" after getting turned away at another place with a 2.5 hour wait. That said, we had a great experience-- the food here is great and the portions are large. Both of us had the sausage and schnitzel platter. I had pork with a mushroom and creme sauce while my coworker had a green peppercorn sauce on his. The sausages were cooked perfectly and had excellent flavor, as were the schnitzels. My spaetzle was cooked perfectly and was a little bland, which, as far as I know, is just right. :) We had a flammkuchen (sp?) as a starter, which paired well with the beer. The tang of the creme fraiche was a good pairing with the red onions and saltiness of the bacon. It was crunchy like a thin crust pizza. It may sound weird, but it is very good and I suggest this. I would definitely come back here for wursts and schnitzel in the future.

Really legit German food. Two of us shared a sausage platter, one small beer, and a bottle of water, we finished the food and got really full. The check came out to be $20 bucks for both of us! There are 4, 5 kinds of sausages in the platter, I forgot the names but I remember the curry one was really good. It's actually regular brat with a curry dip.

I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was packed. I was greeted by Sander, who made room for me to sit at the bar. He had great suggestions according to what I told him I wanted. He was nice helpful, on point with the suggestions. I tried the tripel beer and the schnitzel with mushrooms (Jaegerschnitzel), also the strudel, that I was told it would take 20minutes to prepare. It was all worth it. Sander was taking care of the people sitting at the bar, people seated at the tables and also training the bartender. He was busy, but treated everyone nicely and made time to make suggestions and short conversations. I will definitely return when I come back to the area. Thank you Sander for making this a memorable dinner. Service was excellent and food delicious.

Our friends that live in Amsterdam recommended this place. Located not far from the red light district, this place was just right off a main road, but easy to find. Our friend made reservations, but the place was empty when we arrived. The place was clean (restrooms too!), service was great, food was so yummy and HUGE portions. I could not finish, but I had help. :D I started with the mushroom soup which was really nice on such a cold night. Then I had schnitzel with this mushroom gravy on top, I think the Bratwurst, and a side of sauerkraut, and salad. Yes... the baby was hungry. Little did I know how huge the portions are. So for those with smaller appetites, it might be a good idea to share. Reasonable price and everyone but myself enjoyed the beer. Woohoo! Definitely a fan. Try it out!

Arrived in Amsterdam late on a Friday night. The restaurant the hotel suggested was closed. Decided to try this place based on yelp reviews and so glad we did! The produce in the side salad was amazingly fresh! We had the spatzel (with and without cheese) we both thought the cheese spatzel was the best. Pfefferbeisser and chicken schnitzel were both very good! Short visit but would definitely return!

Our only good dinner in Amsterdam. We walked in for dinner and were seated immediately. Of course I explored the beer menu. Can't exactly step into a German restaurant without sampling some beer, can you? The beer I wanted was out of stock but luckily my second choice wasn't. It was a beer/lemonade combination that was absolutely amazing. Super refreshing. For my entrée, I had jagerschnitzel with fried onions. Cooked perfectly. It came with a side salad and super crispy fries.

When in Amsterdam Wurst & Schnitzelhaus is a must if your wanting Schnitzel. Really cool atmosphere, great beer and amazing staff!!
Let's be honest--it is a chain and you can tell. You take a basic dish and deliver a mediocre product, it will be "meh" at best. Indeed, it was meh. Nothing to write home about. No flavor. An overcooked egg. Service was lacking. Ambiance was fine. I would choose elsewhere if someone suggested this place to me in the future or not. read more
We ordered the chicken and pork schnitzel with fries! It was absolutely delicious! It's better to make a reservation because they're busy! Great beer selection, outdoor seating as well. Ambiance was nice and clean. Staff was really friendly! read more
This restaurant was conveniently near my hotel in the modern district of Amsterdam Zuid. The area has an energetic feel and some striking modern architecture. The staff is very welcoming and helpful to assist with your choices. I had been considering the Sweet and Sour Schnitzel, and when my server said it was her favorite, I locked it in. I chose Spaetzel with Cheese for the side. Both items were hearty and flavorful. Since the weather had been unseasonably cool, it was the comfort food I was craving. The Patar Linius blonde beer was a great addition. read more

Choose the pork schnitzel. Jager sauce was okay but then again I've spent many summers in Germany . I'll definitely go back just won't get the sauce. read more

we are from Germany, thus food was delicious and very authentic. we missed the red cabbage as it wasn't on the menu and seems staple to the dishes but otherwise a very wonderful experience. also the music made us feel at home. read more

I really liked this place - casual, friendly and word to the wise - HUGE portions.. Great service provided by our server.. she was friendly, helpful and explained some things on the menu we didn't get. The food that arrived was massive and almost none of us finished our meals. It was a bit surprising, these American sized portions. All of it tasted great. I'd happily come back here again. read more

The food here was very good. We ordered the schnitzel with lemon, some curry wurst, side salad, fries, and the potatoes with bacon. All of them were very good and worth the price. However, our waitress was rude and ruined the experience for us. We had an older waitress with blonde hair who seemed to be an owner of the restaurant and when she came to take our order, she didn't greet us, just said "What do you want?". Every time she came to our table she was very rude. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, dislikes Americans, or is racist. She put down a reserved plaque on our table with the names of the future guests who would be eating in 3 hours while we were seated which seemed strange. If you're American or a person of color, I would not recommend coming here. Maybe the experience is different for Dutch or German customers. read more

Not an expert on German food but this was damn good. Have visited Munich and Frankfurt and Berlin previously and wanted to introduce my wifey to schnitzel and some of the braut. This place succeeded indeed. Clean, roomy, broad but not overwhelming selections, friendly wait staff. I had a chicken schnitzel and and she had a spicy sausage. Plates were filled with food and we did not leave hungry. We paired our meal with a great brown ale beer that worked perfectly. Highly recommend. read more

Great food in Amsterdam! Authentic German schnitzel and bratwurst. Unfortunately my stomach was only big enough for the jagerschnitzel, but it was so delicious! The brats looked amazing too. Portions were big, but I didn't leave anything on my plate. read more

The food is very good and that's the only reason they got the stars they did. But, the service is slow! This is a Thursday and you would expect faster service. The waiter took our drink order, delivered drinks, came back for our dinner order and it's been 1 hour later and he never checked on us. I had to go ask for drinks and explain two other parties were seated after us and already got their dinner. When I was explaining our situation, the head waiter tried to blame it on the kitchen. Also, our waiter tried to deliver a wrong order to our table. No apologies. No nothing. read more
Loved it. I have no complaints so I'm giving 5 stars all the way. No better place to go while it's so cold right now in Amsterdam for comfort food. This was a definite bookmark I wanted to hit up while here and I'm glad I made it. Firstly, there's a coffeeshop right next door so I went there first to relax before I came in. Amsterdam is so convenient lol Wurst & Schnitzel was casual dining at its finest. I had a schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and potato croquettes. As you can see from all the pictures posted from other reviewers, the portions are generous and the food looks great. It is. Like I said, casual dining at its finest. We also ordered the large sausage sampler which came with a mustard sauce and some sort of tomato curry sauce. We ate everything. No regrets at all about caloric intake lol. I wish there were a place like this where I'm from because I'd go regularly and try one Schnitzel at a time right down the line. Anything with hollandaise or cream sauces smothered over something fried, and I'm all in. I wish I had room for beer but unfortunately I didn't. Prices were very reasonable. Last but not least, service was amazing. There was one server inside and she took on the whole place with no problems at all. She was great and also very friendly. I'd come again for sure next time I'm in Amsterdam. read more

I came in a little jet lagged and fresh out of a coffee shop. Was greeted at the door and was immediately seated. Got the chicken schnitzel and brat with fried potatoes. Very generous portions. Was incredibly crispy chicken, the brat and the fresh mustard were so amazing and the potatoes really brought it all together. Paired with a giant beer, it was easily one of the tastiest meal I had in Amsterdam. Stop in if your hungry because you won't leave that way! read more

Great food awesome service would highly recommend if you are inching for some real German food
Real German food in Dutch land? Yes, please! I had to escape from hot and humid Dar es Salaam and seek comfort in cold and lovely Amsterdam for Thanksgiving. My goal was to stuff myself, just as I would do if I am back home in the US. WuSH was part of the eating tour and it delivered on all counts. There are a variety of schnitzels and wursts on the menu. You can even do a combo of schnitzel and wurst. Since overeating is my mantra in life, I decided to go for the combo and order a bratwurst and Hollandschintzel. The bratwurst was thick and juicy (insert your favorite sausage sexual innuendo here) and perfectly pan fried. The Hollandschnitzel comes with a topping of Sate sauce and fried onions. The Sate sauce is similar to your Satay sauce with rich peanut flavor and the fried onions add a nice crunchy texture to the schnitzel. The meats are served with a choice of sides an salad - I opted for fried potatoes. The potatoes are pan fried and not greasy. Service deserves a special mention. The wait staff are attentive and friendly. The bartender and one of the waitresses chatted with me while I was waiting for my food and they seem to enjoy working here. Did I mention the fact that all the wait staff are very attractive? The most important thing to note about this place - besides the excellent food and service - is the abundance of hot men. It looks like a gathering spot for hot men (both German and others) in Amsterdam. I was here twice and every time it was a "sausage fest", with large groups of men enjoying food and beer. So, ladies and gentlemen, if you are looking for a good looking guy (or a few) this is the place to go! Now go get yourself some sausage...you know what I mean ;) read more
------ Since last week Amsterdam's horeca has got a new carnivore hotspot: Wurst & Schnitzelhaus, celebrating proper German food. Next to that the owners also promise to make a difference with a nice, quick and attentive service - which they proved when we were there. We, a group of Yelpers, got to taste a varied selection from the menu and our concordant verdict is: the specialties are worth the guilty pleasure. The currywurst comes along with a sauce prepared after a top secret family recipe that's been passed on for generations (OK maybe only between two generations). The schnitzels are prepared perfectly and then they're topped off by hefty sauces upon choice like hollandaise (for maximum pleasure and calories go for the Kraftschnitzel with fried onions and cheese additionally - so good!), saté with roasted onions or mushroom cream sauce. The dishes are accompanied by french fries and salad or potatoe salad or sauerkraut. Of course they serve German beer but you can also top the fun with shots like Jägermeister, Apfelkorn or Flügel. read more
Being this close to Germany without actually being there, we decided to give schnitzel a try. I ordered the Hollzfaller Schnitzel with onions, mushrooms and cream sauce with a side of sauerkraut and salad. Hubby got the same but with a side of potato salad as well. He thought it was the best potato salad he'd ever eaten and didn't even want to let me have a bite to try it! The schnitzel was moist but not oily, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and was a large filling portion. They offer liters of German beer that pair perfectly with their menu items. There are a few tables outside, so get there before the dinner rush for the best selection. read more

Great food in casual atmosphere . If you are hungry, this is the place to go. Lots of choices for sausage and schnitzel . Also the dessert comes from Germany , which they then heat up and serve on a wash of vanilla creme. Delicious ! We recommend the wurst appetizer plate for a sampling of the different sausages . Then on to the schnitzel entrees . Not for vegans !! read more
Great food! Loved it. Service was friendly and restaurant was clean. They take reservations too. Only reason it doesn't get five stars.....It just got really loud and obnoxious with drinking men a little out of control and nobody seemed to be want to tell them to take it down a notch. It's a restaurant not a frat house. read more

Stunningly good. Whenever I'm on the European continent there are always two things I try to eat Bolognese and schnitzel. I know I'm in Holland . But saw this place on yelp and had to try it. I did the Jager sauce on the side because I do like a squeeze of lemon on my schnitzel every other bite. The mushrooms and onions are caramelized perfectl and a perfect mixture. Perfect size plate of food sometimes you can be overwhelmed with schnitzel sometimes. This is a perfect portion and I'm a big eater. It was fried to perfection and all the coating stayed in tact. This is going to be my go to when in Amsterdam. read more

The staff were above and beyond friendly and welcoming. My party of 3 strolled in on the late side and were so accommodating by cooking us delicious delicious food. The currywurst sausage was delicious!! I loved my snitzel (pork) with sauce & mushrooms. It was juicy and perfectly portioned after a long day of being a tourist. This was the most memorable German meal I've had. Blows the German food I've tried in NYC by far. They give you a LOT of the sides dish. I got potato salad which was ok. Couldn't put a dent in it. The fried potatoes are better. Clean and spacious establishment. Great prices, you can eat for less than 20 euro. And plus there's wifi! read more

German food at the canals. This new venue is owned by a dutch guy and his german wife. The are really friendly! He is such a good host. The food is ok. The schnitzel can be better. The sausages are big and good. The baked potatoes are made with bacon and maybe butter, they are good! I recommended the owner to put a german roll with a sausage on the lunchmenu, it isn't now. When he does, I will come back on regular base for lunch. I like the place and the friendly atmosphere! read more

I read some other reviews here and they were spot on. This place is outstanding. The service was friendly and attentive and all of us really enjoyed our meals. I had the holzfaller which was exactly as described...the best!! I feel like going again just to get it. The side dishes were good too. This location is charming and right on the canal. Came here Sunday July 5, 2015 in afternoon during the rain We were able to sit outside after the server wiped down the table and I helped dry the seats with a towel. Sitting outside was really nice. The server was super nice and they had enormous beers!! He explained the menu and we ordered the Schnitzel with the cream sauce (gravy) and fried potatoes. AMAZING!! It was so delicious!! I loved every bite and sip of beer. The place was nice inside but we wanted to people watch and see the canal. I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because they have no beer menu, there's no real good variety or amount of options. Boo. Regardless I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for schnitzel. PROS: - good service - BEST schnitzel - ice cold beer - friendly staff - along a canal - outdoor seating - server explain the different menu items to us when asking questions and with a huge smile - quick, food and beer came out quickly CONS: - beer selection is poor - food selection is kinda small read more

On a hot summer day, we were happy to find a spot to sit down to eat. We ordered several different items. The salad with chicken Snitzel was refreshing, I ordered it without cheese. The pine nuts in it were a plus for me. Everyone else in our family group liked their meals. There were mixed reviews by us all on the sauerkraut; however, it wasn't as good as we are used to. The vegan Snitzel was appreciated by our son that they had this option and he liked it. I would have given a five star, because it was good food overall, but to be honest the climate was probably the main reason for a 4. The air was hot and stale due to the hot summer day and no air conditioning, along with cigarette smoke and the occasional whiff of marijuana coming in the open door. Another positive note was we really liked the genre of music playing 50's music like "Jump Jive". read more
