I had my second child here, and overall had a very good experience with labour and the midwives, but the post delivery ward is very busy and I felt somewhat forgotten many times. I found the bathrooms to be exceptionally dirty. The nurses in the Special Care ward were amazing with both the babies they were looking after, and trying to ease the concerns of the parents while informing them of what was happening.

The Nuffield caters specifically for ailments in the disciplines of Orthopaedics and Rheumatology - basically broken bones and aching joints! As well as this, there is the Oxford Centre for Enablement onsite, which helps patients recovering from illnesses which have had a major effect on their ability to cope with day to day life. Access to the hospital is easy from Headington, or from the Ring Road and there is plenty of parking available.

I found his demeanour and…read morecommunication style patronising and unhelpful, and he essentially tries to end the consultation in under 3 minutes, regardless whether you haven't finished describing your symptoms or whether you also have a second problem for which you are seeing him. It is hard to say whether this GP (Gancz) is or isn't competent as a medic, however he is definitely lacking in empathy and patience, which are probably just as important. Dr Naomi Drury, from the same surgery, is a lot more empathic and helpful, and so when I next need to see a doctor again, I will try to make appointments with her rather than with the rather unpleasant Dr Gancz.
