Instead of explaining the bank's policy, he was immediately told they couldn't cash the check and was directed to go back to his own bank--even after he explained that his bank had specifically instructed him to bring the check to the issuing bank. After he came back outside, I went in to try to help. I explained that the person who wrote the check was a customer at this branch. The employees even told me they knew her personally. I suggested they simply call her to verify that she had written the check, but they refused. We then drove to the customer's home, explained what had happened, and she returned to the bank with us. Once she arrived and confirmed everything, the check was cashed without issue. What was most upsetting was that no one apologized for the inconvenience or acknowledged how we had been treated. Instead, after we left, the bank contacted the customer to let her know we had come in to cash the check. That left us feeling as though we had been viewed with suspicion despite presenting a legitimate check and ultimately having the customer herself verify the transaction. The entire experience felt dismissive and disrespectful. My boyfriend, in particular, felt he was unfairly judged and stereotyped from the moment he walked in. Every customer and visitor deserves to be treated with professionalism, respect, and without preconceived assumptions. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled, because no one should have to go through what we experienced just to cash a legitimate check.

Andy Dearing, Branch Manager, was incredible! He told us not to stress over the time. He would help us and make sure everything was set up correctly. He spoke to my son in a very caring and professional manner. Offered advice on the dos and don'ts of owning a debit/credit card. He used meaningful examples to which my son could relate. Before we wrapped up, he told my son when to expect to receive his debit card. Once it arrived, Andy asked for my son to return so they could set up online banking and the virtual wallet. He shook my son's hand and treated him like an adult. Offered his business card and encouraged him to reach out if he needed anything. We returned today to set up the online banking. Andy was just as friendly and professional as before. I'm very thankful for Andy. He gave my son sound advice to help him start on a firm financial path. The rest is up to us.

Well it has been a month and a half and I got surgery a week and a half ago leaving my physically unable to leave my home for the next 6 weeks. I called this office and they told me my husband can't pick it up it has to be me physically there and to call their 888 number. I called the 888 number and they told me To give them my husbands name and approx time he will be arriving and they can give him your debit card. So I called back and they said whoever I spoke with on the 888 number was wrong and they refused to allow that to happen even given the circumstances that I am Physically disabled at this time and cannot go there. So at this time and until I am able to physically leave my home again approx 6-8 weeks I am without a debit card. I do not recommend this PNC location they are rude and selfish and were not nice when I was On the phone with them.
