My daughter had a major maxilliofacial osteotomy on Monday of this week. Prior to this, we have been visiting the orthodontist at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport and also had appointments with Dr. Patel and Susie Cauldwell at Wythenshawe Hospital. Although my daughter, Hannah Young, had to wait a bit longer than expected for her operation, I can only praise the hospital for their efficiency and care throughout the whole process. When Hannah was in hospital this week on ward F9, the staff were caring, diligent, professional but most of all (and most importantly in my opinion) kind towards Hannah at a time when she was away from her family, for the first time, having a major operation. They were fantastic. The nursing staff on admissions where we waited six hours prior to her operation were lovely. They made me a very welcome cup of tea and, when Hannah went up to theatre and I was feeling very upset, one particular nurse put her arms around me to comfort me, despite being busy in her job. I have nothing but praise for both Wythenshawe Hospital and Stepping Hill orthodontics department. I hope that this message will be conveyed to all departments of both hospitals and I hope that my comments will be passed on and noted by the Executives who will, in turn, I hope praise the staff and nurses on all wards. Thank you everyone. Our daughter is now recovering well. Helen Young read more
