My massage therapist was standing outside with another therapist. I was informed the building was locked and they couldn't reach their manager or the owner. They were finally able to reach the manager at 10:15 and was informed she "was on her way." Because her arrival would be well past my appointment time, I left. The owner called the following week and said she would "add on a scalp massage" for my troubles. No apology, just an extra add on. Unfortunately, the next available appointment was months out and my massage therapist informed me that she would be seeking employment elsewhere due to how poorly they are treated. A year later, I decided to try this location again. I had a new and inexperienced therapist each time I went. After my 4th massage, I ended this membership. My billing stopped for 3 months then suddenly I was being charged monthly. I called to let them know I was being billed despite my membership ending. This went on for 4 months. They finally credited my card back for 2 of the 4 months. They would not refund the other 2 and also informed me I could not use these services as I am past the 90 days service date of billing and services used. Hand and Stone of Middletown is a huge let down for our community. They currently don't have a manager, the owner never responds to calls and they can't keep any employees.

As a patient, I expect honesty, professionalism, appropriate communication, and basic respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I should not have had to question whether I was being given accurate information or feel as though I was being treated in an inappropriate manner for simply trying to advocate for myself as a patient. The way this situation was handled completely damaged my trust in the practice. Medical offices have an obligation to communicate honestly and treat patients with dignity, even when there is a disagreement or difficult situation. They also have a mini store in front, where you can find a good amount of hair supplies for purchase. My daughter was seated as soon as she arrived and the women who braided her hair was very fast. The appointment was listed for 4 hrs (3-7pm) and the stylist finished exactly at 7pm, so I was pretty impressed. The parts are neat and the braids are the perfect size for my pre-teen. The only thing I wasn't really a fan of is how hot it was. Not sure if they have an AC system or if it was just too soon in the season to use it but it was hot outside and the only air flowing was from the front door being left open. But with leaving the door open comes with flying insects coming in and out swarming around . Also, I feel like they end their child pricing too soon, as my daughter is only 11 but the kids pricing stops at 10. However, this doesnt take away from the great service provided. This was not my first rodeo, but it was my first time getting filler from her- Waste of over $1000. In my experience, the owner would have made a great used car salesman. Injections may not be her forte (ironically considering she owns a med spa), but hustling people sure is. Money aside, this is your face- with so many Med- Spas and talented injectors, be wise in who you choose to inject your face.
