My parents, brother and I were recently visiting Santa Fe. We walked all over downtown, Canyon Road, and also the downtown area of Taos. This was one of our favorite spots! There were tons of interesting items from around the world, and prices seemed more reasonable and fair than many other spots. Also, the shop owner was very charming - friendly, flexible and engaged, great sense of humor. He showed me some gorgeous lamps that I am still thinking about. Xanadu is in the back of the Jackalope complex. There are lots of imported decorative items here along with some NM artists wares. I would definitely wander back here to see the shop. I picked up some chipped-carved Santos here that I had been searching for during our NM trip. read more

My husband and I stumbled across Xanadu while we were checking out the various stores that were plopped around Jackalope..figured we would go in and check it out. We were in there a good twenty minutes and were never acknowledged by the woman who was working. We were the only customers in there, so it's not like she was being overrun or anything. Everything in there is exorbitantly over priced..along the lines of almost being laughable. Some things could be purchased at Hobby Lobby for a fraction of the price (I'm talking $15 for a decor box vs the exact thing at Xanadu for $150). We won't be returning due to price inflation in addition to the lack of customer service that seemed to have been forgotten. read more

When you decide to continue to patronize a business, usually it is for a variety of reasons: convenience, quality of merchandise, price point, responsiveness to problems and then the vibe of the place. Are staff attentive? Funny? Helpful? Xanadu scores on all points. I bought a garden wind structure there for my wife's birthday. It was not cheap. Assembled a piece broke and some owners might have asserted that we broke it and so it was our problem. The Xanadu owner, Allen, could not have been more responsive and took care of it. The wind sculpture now is working beautifully in our garden. But from the purchase to the need to address a problem that was not Xanadu's, they scored A+. And the store if full of interesting clothing, structures, nicknacks, furnishings that reflect southwest culture. Great place to find a gift and know that if there is a problem with it, the store will stand behind it. Plus Allen is funny as hell, but you'd best appreciate sarcasm. read more

Two thumbs way up for Xanadu in Santa Fe! Every time we're in Santa Fe we make a point to shop there. Their merchandise is always so stylish and unique . . . also very reasonably priced, especially when compared to the downtown boutiques! It's especially nice for gifts for our friends and family. Visited this fantastic store when we were on a trip from the UK. The selection of goods on offer is amazing, and I could wander around this store forever. We purchased some wonderful sofas and chairs, and juniper tables and had them shipped to the UK. Our friends always comment on them and are envious they cannot purchase them anywhere in the UK. My husband and I are new to Santa Fe and have been looking for high quality outdoor decorative items for our home. We spent a full week perusing the galleries/shops on the Plaza and Canyon road before discovering Xanadu. This is what you need to know about Xanadu: it is filled with high-end art and décor from all over the world....with prices that are at least 50% less than anything else you'll find of same quality in Santa Fe. The range of items is impressive! We ended up buying several outdoor sculptures and then went back to buy jewelry and other artwork. The owners - Mary and Alan- are laid back and extremely knowledgeable. Xanadu has been our BEST Santa Fe shopping experience. We can't say enough about this place. You'll love it! read more

We bought a juniper wood coffee table with inlaid turquoise at Xanadu last December. Weather on the east coast delayed delivery slightly but the table was worth the wait. We LOVE it. It's the centerpiece of our living room and we get lots of compliments. It's sturdy, resistant to water stains and scratches. I am told that we can sand the wood when it needs it but we haven't needed it yet. read more

we were singularly impressed with the xanadu portion of the jackelope bazaar in santa fe. the items there were diverse and eclectic, feeding our tastes. mark was working the first day we went(selection process), and the husband and wife owners were on site when we returned to buy. all 3 were helpful and unobtrusive- we appreciate that, as we know our own minds/tastes, and do NOT like to be "sold". we made our selection (sculpture for our home), and they were very helpful and accurate in their assessment of shipping requirements and costs to get our treasures home safely. we purchased on saturday, and our stuff got here on tuesday following (at a reasonable rate). if you find what you want there, buy it there! big ups, xanadu! read more
